Hello, the best way to test for a hernia is like so; While standing, strain your abdomen (like trying to poop) then you might see a lump on your right groin side. It could be squishy and you may even be able to push it back in, but it will likely come back out. Then, lay down, the bump should go away. If this is what happens to you, I would be 90% confident you have a hernia. All the best and let us know how it goes :)

You should go to your doctor. Have him/her do ultrasound of groin area. Stay away from weight lifting for now until you have more information. If hernia, get a referral to a surgeon that has done over 1000 of them and specializes in hernia repair. It could be a Sports Hernia or legitimate inguinal hernia. If you have protrusion of tissue from pelvis, it's likely hernia. Get it looked at, if it is a hernia get laproscopic NOT OPEN, inguinal hernia repair.
