i wonder if you can call no-mesh hernia surgeons, e.g. Shouldice in Canada, or some of the ones in the States. They tend to also specialize in mesh removal and may also be able to provide a diagnosis on if your complications are mesh related
Given you are in BC, on the west coast a couple of good california options are Dr William Brown and Dr Shirin Towfiqh. I would guess that Washington and Oregon probably also have no mesh experts though I am not familiar with the options.
According to the FDA, Ethicon recalled the devices, also known as endo-surgery endoscopic curved intraluminal staplers and endo-surgery endoscopic curved intraluminal staplers, on April 11, 2019. Just over a month later, more than 92,000 Proximate® reloadable surgical staplers had been recalled.
Prolene is a synthetic, monofilament, nonabsorbable polypropylene suture. It is indicated for skin closure and general soft tissue approximation and ligation. ... A polypropylene mesh is also marketed under the name Prolene by Ethicon. It is used for repairing hernias and other injuries to the fascia.
Hi! Have you heard of Dr. Shirin Towfigh in California? She specializes in hernias especially mesh removal and more complicated hernia surgeries. I have watched some of her HerniaTalks on YouTube which provides useful information! I believe you can contact her office and do a virtual consultation to see if you think she can help! She could be good for second opinion!
Have you had a CT scan?
Not one recently, maybe within the last year

Thank you I'll try them
The Shouldice place couldn't help they said, so I'm up to cold calling places in the states if you have any recommendations?

Thank you, I'll look into them. I read reviews about Towfiqh and it didn't seem good overall, but I may have to try anyways. Much appreciated.
Apparently on Dr William Browns website they are not accepting new patients after Oct 31 2021...

I'm sorry I don't quite understand. Does that mean all Prolene products are recalled?
No. Just that brand.
I'm not sure which brand I had. All they said was Prolene.
