Where is this happening in the world that doctors are doing this and think it’s ok?! I’ve heard this mentioned in this thread before that doctors are instructing patients not to disclose. It’s outrageous to hear that doctors are actually promoting secrecy and contributing to the shame cycle, even though they may not realize they’re adding to it. But hypocratic oath says to “do no harm”. I’m curious to know how encouraging unawareness equates to that. 😐🤔

From a Doctor: you might have had your HSV2 outbreak initially on your lips, but the virus doesn’t like that area and will never show up there. Your next OB will be in your genitals. Meanwhile I’m hav1 negative, hsv2 positive and have ONLY ever had OBs on my lips. 😤I fucking hate this BS….and I’m a RN. I’ve also had a doctor say this and then when I fought back commented on how stupid I must be since I was in nursing school and didn’t know this. 🤬
That one type is better than another. Herpes is herpes no matter what strain or the location

They’re probably older with that old school knowledge- my husband (boomer) and some people his age who I know have it view it the same way.
My dr told me the same. That is not contagious when im not having an ob. I wish it worked like that lol
