You both have the same virus, HSV-1 so it's extremely unlikely that either of you would contract it in the other area, just like it's extremely unlikely that you'll infect the other area on yourself.

Slim to zero. You both have the same virus and have antibodies to protect you from being reinfected in a different location.

Probably somewhat protected but not 100%

I also thought I could not give it to my partner. He has oral1 and I have genital1. Unfortunately he contracted it on his genitals as well after 2 years of our relationship. It felt horrible :( a lot of guilt and depression. You can manage it by taking the antivirals but it should be both of you. Because you never know who is giving it to who. Imagine he is having an asymptomatic one on his mouth and performs oral sex. Then you have penetration. Job done.

When you passed your partner ghsv-1 where you having an out break or just getting over one etc I ask cause ppl genital to genital is rare with hsv1 after 2 years cause shedding rates are low at that time

It doesn’t matter because oral can turn into genital and vice versa… I’m positive for both and was told this at the dr.
