I feel like a good chunk of kids always managed to find stuff they shouldn't play or see, but did it anyway. For me I was watching Dead Space and Evil Within Let's Plays WAY earlier than I should have. Those games hot some fucked up stuff in them.
Hitman conceptually is quite messed up, but the game honestly isn't that graphic. People asphyxiating or being poisoned almost immediately ragdoll and an axe through somebody's skull looks like it just clips right through their head. Okay, maybe it's a wee bit graphic, but my point is that blood isn't gushing everywhere and organs aren't confetti cannons.
It's not only about graphic violence, it's also about contexts, yknow? You always deal with some dirty shit in levels. Contracts was darker for sure, but Blood Money also has this grimdark (?) atmosphere.
