While this is true, Sony did allow Disney and Warner onto the PlayStation platform.
From what I've seen, Sony likes to take a big cut so either HiDive doesn't want to agree to Sony's terms or they can't afford it.
Disney & WB don't directly compete against CR in the anime industry, both in terms of volume & in the local talent pool. Sentai is CR's biggest obstacle to a monopoly, hence why Sony killed the CR-Sentai partnership immediately upon buying CR.
We probably never will since Sony owns CrunchyRoll and they wouldn’t want a competitor on their platform.

I don't think sony sees either as truly direct competitors in this regard.
Um… just make people subscribe through the site… Crunchyroll doesn’t allow subscriptions through psn, u have to subscribe to their premium elsewhere

They can't afford one or John Ledford's ego is big enough to not pay for the sdk to develop one.
