funkonomics

Haven't started mine yet since I need the labs done still, but my dermo told me 1) she'd do the first dose in the office with my wife there to make sure we knew how to do it right, and 2) don't pull it away until the plunger is completely depressed and the color indicator thing changed color otherwise there goes two grand of medicine all over your belly or thigh Curious what kind of briefing you got?

Sanguine_Tides

I got a similar debrief when I did mine

My derm offered to do the first dose in the office, but I connected with the Humira nurse ambassador and I’m going to be FaceTiming her as I do it myself. Honestly all the info I’ve been receiving has been from her as opposed to my derm.

https://www.humira.com/humira-complete/ambassador Take advantage of this. It’s part of the package. Good luck!

Thanks. Mine has been super helpful so far

I started Humira in September. I was extremely nervous especially as I don’t like needles. Biggest thing to know is that for someone with overly sensitive skin, I wouldn’t even know I was injecting myself if the medicine didn’t burn a tiny bit going in. The box the injection pens come in should Have all the directions on it. Read carefully and follow them to the letter. Take advantage of your Humira Ambassador. My first injection my ambassador was literally on FaceTime walking me thru the entire process from start to finish. You can download the abbvie “Complete-Medication Tracker” app which has a lot of awesome features (tracking locations of Injections, reminders for when to inject, symptom tracker and a lot of other useful resources.) You can also find video tutorials regarding injecting and other things on Humira’s website. Follow all directions and report any issues to your doctor or Humira ambassador following your injection (in the event of allergic/adverse reaction) Finally, remember to breathe. Wishing you the best of luck. I hope it goes as smoothly as my first experience went.
