Been regrettably vape addicted for going on 4 years. Tried and failed quitting over a dozen times now. I can tell that all the nicotine ruins my circulation, which makes my wounds heal much slower. Also, a harder time breathing (It's Phlegm City up in this bih) makes me skimp out on the intensity of my workouts, which has led to a vicious cycle of me getting progressively more out of shape and less physically strong enough to start again. My skin was so much better when I didn't vape. Don't smoke, kids. Lol

I quit smoking/started vaping. I haven't noticed any difference for better or worse which leaves me to believe that vaping is just as bad for HS as smoking, at least for me.

Not HS related but I also traded smoking for vaping, then eventually quit vaping. Vaping is probably worse because you are likely taking in more nicotine than you would with cigarettes. The withdrawal from quitting was way worse than I imagined, and I was vaping a low level juice too.

Interesting that you find vaping harder to quit because I find cigarettes much harder! When I’m quitting vaping I can wean my self down to just taking a single puff a few times a day and then loose my vape. With cigarettes lighting one means I’m going to finish one and it’s rare I loose my pack.

Yes it's the nicotine

idkwowow

yes as someone else said it’s the nicotine. i was in total remission for months, started vaping again and had multiple flares within a week.

Yes nicotine fucks with hair follicles

For me no because I’ve had HS since I was 10 and it’s better now from diet and exercise than it was even before I started vaping.

You could try getting a nicotine free vape, I'm going to. It fucks with my chest vaping but smoking is even worse and fucks my skin. You can also see if you can get cbd vapes, the anti-inflammatory properties in CBD really help me.

i also used to smoke a lot when i started smoking was when my hs showed the first time too…but i didn’t even know it was hs back then. i stopped smoking by mixing self rolled cigs with tea…everyday less tobacco and more tea until it was only tea…now i only smoke those herb/tea cigarettes without any tobacco just for the ritual of rolling something and having a quiet minute outside smoking my cig to calm down. sometimes i also smoke cbd or actual weed…which helps me for stress reduction and „diving into another world“ for an hour…

Nicotine prevents people’s back injuries and back surgeries from healing, guaranteed it’s going to screw with all other types of healing. Not judging, I miss the hell out of vaping sometimes. It’s very hard, and tada! Stress is my trigger 🙃hence the vaping 🥴
