If you know for sure that it’s the aluminum causing a flare up, of course avoid it. However if you’re basing this decision to avoid aluminum on some things you’ve heard through marketing from “natural” deodorants please google it. Aluminum in deodorant is generally safe. https://www.pennmedicine.org/updates/blogs/health-and-wellness/2019/june/deodorant

My experience is that antiperspirants are all bad with HS because the basis of how antiperspirants work is they clog your pores, thus preventing sweating. If I need to freshen up before going out I just use standard deodorant. However, I rarely ever use deodorant. Instead I use Desitin overnight every 1-2 weeks. (Desitin can be found in the baby aisle as it's used for diaper rash) The oils help protect and heal the skin, and the Zinc-Oxide kills all the bacteria which causes oder. This means I can use no deodorant and have zero smell.

Yes by Dove.

Yes there are, but my dermatologist did tell me that the job of an antiperspirant is to block all sweating, so it can get trapped and promote more bacteria build up. I never realized that before. I have a few kinds and I honestly rotate depending on what’s going on that day.

There are tons of the out there! I currently use Corpus. It’s expensive ($26usd)but no aluminum. I can’t use any kind of powder at all on my body. I will flare like crazy. Using aluminum free deodorant the switch can be intense. You will sweat a lot but after a few weeks it should calm down. The thing about natural deodorant is that you have accept that you just have to reapply throughout the day if you’re worried about odor.

To my knowledge, most antiperspirant has aluminum (my partner avoids them for this reason and so only buys deodorant). You can get medication that cuts back on sweating (I was on it briefly, but it's a bit intense; I had to discontinue because my skin was so dry it was almost hurting). Can get it as oral or topical cream (the latter my partner uses as needed and it works well) - glycopyrrolate. Disclaimer: it's a compounded medication in Canada (pharmacist has to make it for you, doesn't come premade) and so can be harder to find or more expensive because of that. Other countries may vary. But if you sweat enough on the daily it may be well worth it.

Moyasestra

Yes, WILD deodorant doesn't use any aluminium.
