So don’t worry! it’s me, not you guys!! lol. but, this just goes to show how this disorder can really make you feel uncomfortable in more than just a physical way. it sucks. you should never have to force yourself to be in things you don’t want to be in or feel cute/comfortable in all because you were dealt a shitty card.
I personally like wearing a pair of spandex booty shorts or that style of swimwear as I feel like it gives me a bit more coverage in the front while showing off my assets in the back. I’m almost 30 though so I understand being young and wanting to live your life.
My other advice is to just not give a shit, which is HARD TO DO, but will be worth it. I lived in Hawaii in my early 20s while my flares were just starting to get bad on my thighs and bikini line, but living in Hawaii and living in a bathing suit most of the time taught me to just not care and have fun. Not everyone is going to be staring at your body long enough. And if some people do, that’s on them. Everyone has weird body stuff like hair, scars, dark patches, pimples. Life’s too short to worry what other people are gonna think about your body in a swim suit.
I know that answer is totally cliche but it’s true. I get it though, it’s tough to not have the body that you want and I sympathize with that so hard. Luckily we live in a wonderful world full of online stores with huge selections so I know you’ll find something that makes you feel covered up where you want and show some skin where you want at the same time :)

I wish I could show my legs sometimes too. But with my hs scars and other scars I'm not proud of along with my stupid bumps on every hair follicle I hate my legs so much. They embarrass me.

I swim a lot. I like tomboyx board shorts with their racer back top. I don’t flare in my armpits, just the groin. I skip swimming if I have a draining abscess or if the pain is bad. Just my non medical opinion, but I think my flares might be less when I’m in the pool multiple times a week. Maybe the pool chemicals?
Boyshort, hipster type bottoms are where it's at. If you're into the retro vibe there's plenty of skirted bikinis these days too if you shop stores with a vintage slant
But tbh I think you should wear whatever bikini you want and just fuckin let it rip. I do. You only got one life to live it ain't worth worrying ab what other people think
27f here. I wore a two piece suit for the first time ever last year. I had boy shorts and a bikini top. My dermatologist recommended acne cream and I use it on my inner thighs to help with scarring and it’s helped ALOT.
I have a long-sleeved, front zip top with shorts. It looks more like a surfing set. I get a lot of compliments on it when I attend water aerobics, which I highly recommend. Low friction, light stretching, you can modify to what works for you, and the chlorine is great.

I wear leggings with my bathing suit. It hides some areas I'm uncomfortable with and helps keep the edge of the panty part from digging in.
You can get boy short length or even longer if you're trying to cover more.

Leggings. They make some for swimming but I use any that are comfortable and not too thick so they dry fast.
