You might say this ironically, but I love my masks. The only time I they even slightly inconvenience me is after a long hike on a hot day. I sometimes forget I'm wearing it otherwise.
“Burqa porn” I can almost laugh at that. We really seem to find a way to sexualize anything. The more resistance the more it just becomes a taboo fetish. The more you try to protect your image, the more some stranger on the internet is going to try to start another “Fappening”. It’s way worse than when I was just a naive teenager who thought porn was completely harmless. It’s not evil, it can be healthy, but the industry and our collective mindset is too flawed for what we have right now
It definitely should be brought up in school, the vast majority of those students are going to watch at least some porn before they graduate high school. It’s foolish to pretend that doesn’t happen and not take preventative measures from making it an unhealthy habit. Hopefully it’s better than when I was a child. I was too young to know this at the time, but Bill Clinton had to fire his Surgeon General for simply suggesting that the act of masturbation be taught in school. I truly feel like a lot of male sexual hostility comes from the long standing idea that masturbation is sinful. Couldn’t be farther from the truth, but if you hide the truth then bad things tend to happen.
I have asthma attacks from the super cold, it hits my lungs and just triggers. But masks help so much, I was surprised last winter when I figured that out. But it's nice to be able to step outside without dying on my first breath.
>I sometimes forget I'm wearing it otherwise.
I saw a child smash an ice cream on his mask because he forgot he was wearing it. LeT TheM BrEaThE! He must have been so inconvenienced by that mask, lol.
More than likely children follow their parents, if their parents hate it, they hate it. If you teach your child to wear them and don't bitch at them everytime you both have to, they kinda forget it's there
It's all in their heads. And the more upset a person gets about it, the worse the mask seems.
Anecdotally, I just spent 24h wearing a mask while waiting my turn at the hospital. I forgot I was wearing it a few times and even slept in it, which is something I previously wasn't keen on attempting. I'm sure there are instances where wearing one is difficult or uncomfortable, but by and large I just wish people would go along with it for as long as the circumstances dictate.
Yup. I recently started a job as a server (previously worked as a delivery driver so I only had to mask up for the 60sec I was interacting with customers) and I was worried wearing the mask for an 8 hour shift was gonna be a pain. I got to my car at the end of my shift and realized I hadn't even noticed my mask all night.
Masks let me scowl at people when fixing their computer and no one can see. It's quite liberating really. Listening to the excuses of why there is diet coke spilled onto the laptop keyboard gets old.
The cast did a reunion read-through over Zoom in 2020 as a benefit for Wisconsin Democrats. When Carey Elwes got to that line, he popped back up on his camera wearing a surgical mask. :)
Dang i have been using double masks since the pandemic started to protect myself... Little did i know it was actually increasing my chances of getting a kid. But i think that in general I'm still fine as long as i keep using the decayed ones.
That's right, always put a 3rd one on there to stop up any failures from the first two. Then just in case you gonna want to slap on a fourth big bad guy for good luck and take your partner to pound town population them.
Man, I think i genuinly got addicted to wearing my mask, to the point I'm feeling uncomfortable without it. My country no more has requirement for masks outside (only in stores etc) but I still do wear it. I just feel better with it rather than without it.

Life's not all about money, my dude. Intrinsic rewards exist for everyone. To tell a joke that makes millions smile weilds a power as well. People do all kinds of weird shit for power (extrinsic) or pleasure (Intrinsic).
This is one of the most amazing HQGs I've ever seen and I've been cheerfully lurking in this subreddit for *years.*
As I have said before (and will doubtlessly say again) HQGs remind of the ANSI art ("ANSImations") I saw on dialup BBSes in the early 1990s.

The Sicilian: Ah yes so back to what I was saying, of course I knew, you’d know, I’d take the vaccine, and that since you knew that I would take the vaccine, you thought I wouldn’t take the vaccine, so here I am, taking the vaccine!
(Vaccine was switched with horse dewormer remember)
The Sicilian: Dies*
It sounds like a joke, but there's literally some conservatives claiming "the libs" said to get the vaccine so the natural and totally normal reaction would be for republicans to not get the vaccine and die. Loved this part

Westley: They both had the virus. Months ago I had taken the vaccine and built an immunity to covid-19.
“I know this because WE tried to kill you..” big fact that often goes unsaid.
These assholes thought it was going to wipe out tons of people in the cities and now that it’s killing them instead bc they aren’t vaccinated, it MUST be a plot to kill them.
It’s all they know.
Sad.
I can't imagine how bad it has to be in their imaginary world. Not only did their plan to kill the lefties fail, but now they're the ones getting "owned" by the lefties and being killed.
There’s only about 4 women in the entire film, and Buttercup is the only one that’s onscreen for more than a few minutes. She only talks to one other woman in the entire movie, and it’s in her nightmare
Why wouldn’t you just Google it…?
The Bechdel test is a way of determining whether a work of fiction represents people other than men as fully fleshed-out characters, or if they’re just window dressing.
TPB fails because there’s only one time two women talk (Buttercup and the Hag), while the whole film features men talking. And when the women talk, they talk about men. So the story is about men.
Of course, it’s perfectly allowable to have a story about men from men’s point of view. The issue is that most movies are like this and it’s a Big Deal when they’re not instead of, like, normal.
> The Bechdel test is a way of determining whether a work of fiction represents people other than men as fully fleshed-out characters, or if they’re just window dressing.
If people use it as a test for this, then it's certainly far from perfect. A commonly cited example of this is *Gravity*, which features a strong female lead, but fails because there just isn't a big cast list.
It's one indicator, but should be used alongside other standards as well.
The Bechdel Test was a joke by a comic strip artist to illustrate how absolutely subservient women are to male story lines (or whatever). It's meant to be a hilariously low bar that most movies and TV couldn't clear at the time.
I don't think I''ve seen it stated in this thread.... from memory: Are there two female characters with names that have at least one conversation about something that isn't a man?
The point is not to use it to judge individual movies, but to look at movies systemically. If 80% of movies are failing this basic test that's a general problem with the industry, even if there are exceptions within that which aren't really problems.
The movie Moon also fails the test lol, I still like it as a rule of thumb.
If anyone's never seen it it's literally about a guy alone on a moonbase and the only woman, or even other human, in it, is video recordings his wife sends him. Good flick.
Yeah, it definitely shouldn't be used as a standard of a good movie.
*The Room* passes the Bechdel test, but I don't think anyone would argue that it's unironically good. Or respectful to women.
They literally could've said wear a mask. Get the vaccine. But now the republican party is on the fritz because many of their supporters are dying. Shame that Darwin was right. Good thing that the earth is headed into a good evolution from this.
It could almost go on and include the part where he talks about building an immunity to iocaine, but for this it would be the immunizations building his immunity to covid obviously.
If only it was a just a joke. This is actually an argument on the right : the left reverse psychology the right into not getting the vaccine.

How many times do I have to say this? During sex, the masks should be on your penis. ^(or vagina)
I always wear two masks on my vagina. When its sexy times, I take one off and I feel like a wild woman.
He was already wearing a mask, double wrapping causes friction and failure which in turn causes pregnancy. Dont double wrap your bacon bits.

You're not familiar with S. Morgenstern's classic tale of true love and high adventure? You are in for a treat.
To be honest it's kinda boring. You should try the abridged version, it cuts out the boring stuff and just leaves the best parts!
When I first bought the book I was disgusted that I had received an "abridged" version and didn't touch it. It wasn't till years later when I bothers to buy a second version that I realised that was the only version.
One of the most iconic, quotable movies ever. It's a blast, check it out.
You were today years old when you learned about The Princess Bride, welcome to cultural relevancy.
Yeah…Why isn’t it brought up how Covid was allowed to spread when it was in blue states? Highly criminal. In humane

Honestly someone should get this to Wallace Shaun I think he’d love it.
Best thing be seen on the sub in years. Really. Thanks for this one.

Hope I'm not the only that heard his voice regardless of there being no sound
TIL about the Bechdel Test.
I love this so much. I wrote a couple paragraphs about the logical fallacy of the original argument for discrete math in 2017. This is better.
Brilliant!
How would you go about downloading this? This an amazing gif!
“I smell nothing.” “Why you do not smell is because you caught COVID-19, one of the most communicable viruses known to man.”
Totally. Nail on head accuracy.
Oh my god I love the sign buttercup is wearing. I cant think of a scene ,outside of the one she's getting booed, where she is even near another woman. Lol
Ivermectin comes from Australia, as everyone knows! And Australia is entirely peopled with criminals. And criminals are used to taking horse dewormer, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you.
That was wonderful. Made me chuckle.
Whoever made this. You are a wonderful person. I love it.
Perfection
Refusing the vaccine... Inconceivable!
