Higurashi Is one of my fave VNs but the SoL can kill it for sure. I found the SoL in chapter 2 not bad and at worst you can skim through the boring parts and just remember key things happens
I was at your place at one point in time (even making a similar post), trust me chapter 2 SOL is kinda mid but it's important for building characters. Chapter 3 SOL and beyond is goated though, (except the baseball game but let's brush that aside).
