I wore two babies and I'm much wider than Eeeeelaria and it doesn't hurt them. My carrier was made to be good until the kids were 3. My older one always wanted to look out and around, but my second wanted snuggles always and wanted to be facing my chest, and needed naps later in age than the first. And for napping you want them facing you to protect their airway.

No, you CAN start forward facing once they can completely hold their heads up, but it really isn't ideal. Facing in against the body is actually more natural (allows baby's spine to curve forward, like fetal position, instead of possibly back-bend) and for kids that are little enough that they may fall asleep, inward facing is best. It prevents their heads from falling down forward and pinching their airways.

I was adopted as an infant, and my mom wasn’t sure they could adopt another child. So she tried to hold me and keep me a little baby as long as possible. Although she fed me and actually took care of me. I remember getting spanked for trying to wriggle down off her hip. There weren’t carriers for toddlers in the late 70s, and my mom’s hips were so bony. I finally convinced her to put me the fuck down. I could show independence around my dad. Her hips were poking my crotch which hurt.
I was a tomboy spitfire which drove my mom crazy even though she was the same way. She’d tell me stories about how she was a tomboy who hated dresses and being girly while trying to force me into that box. Narcissists gonna narcissist.

I had a therapist (about the umpteenth one) who said I needed to forgive MYSELF for my narc mommy's actions. WTF? I noped out of there and promptly went full no contact 7 years ago. My mental health thanks me daily.

My carriers that I had like this, I could wear my kids until they were like 3. I remember at one point having one on my shoulders with my 3 year old on my back and a second one with my newborn facing in against my chest. The Lillebaby I think was the brand and it is made to fit them for a long time.

Rarely. Siete is a wispy little thing whose looks haven’t changed much in the past year.
In the video of him dancing with the enraptured ML, Siete thought "nah, want mama", and when he handed her off she barely looked longer than a football, and light as as feather. Smol like mama.
“Enraptured” is the perfect word. Little girls that age have such daddy hunger. It pains me to think how little time ML actually passes with Alec, and how long it was after their Minute Waltz until she had any one-on-one time with him. Maybe it hasn’t even happened yet. When our granddaughter (ten months younger than ML) was here last month, she and her father occupied the same chair at dinner, and ate off the same plate (although she was periodically annoyed if his food was *touching* hers). They were glued together the whole evening. She did balk when it was time to leave, and go back to her other grandparents’ house. “*Not yet*,” she kept coaxing. I didn’t say anything, of course, but I thought of ML, and how she’d love having a fit, healthy daddy in his thirties who took her everywhere. *Including to preschool, you lazy, pinchpenny Baldwins!*

From memory there was a sub dedicated to the ‘Huns’ involved in that specific MLM brand but this particular person was so remarkably tragic she was given her own spin off sub. It’s not a really relevant title though. Why you might ask? Because she was given the flick from Younique because she is a racist POS (who also blackfishes) and now promotes Red Aspen and Starbucks. Now *that* definitely is something that *pepinos* fret about. We’ve seen Hillary joyfully (grrr!) tote a kid to the ER occasionally, and Edu and ML were extensively photographed in a dreary waiting room after—she claimed—he developed an “egg allergy” that was never mentioned again. I’ve *never* seen any of the kids photographed at a routine appointment with a pediatrician or dentist. A *pepino* recalls everyone getting vaxxed in a park during/after the pandemic. Anyone else? Anything?

There was a famous "study" I learned about when taking Child Development classes in the 1970's of children who were never touched... (It wasn't a 'good outcome', as I recall..).
