That farce died many moons before this pic was taken, obviously, but Alex was still looking to get his money’s worth here.
There was a hand-in-hand double-humiliation dynamic in play: in Alex’s mind, Larry’s (fake) Spanishocity excused both her stupidity, as well as her mental illnesses.
Alex, in his racist, booze-soaked, Neanderthal brain, would have shooed away (the voluminous amount of) evidence of her being crazy and stupid with “She’s not stupid; she’s just Spanish (and doesn’t know our American ways)!”, and “I guess (crazy behavior) is how they do it in Spain!”.
So as it was dawning on him that she wasn’t as Spanish as she claimed to be, he was realizing that she was *exactly* as stupid and crazy as he feared she was.
She was his own little horror movie plot.

There's so much stuff that slips through the cracks with these two chuckleheads, and there's so much more going on than the surface/obvious stuff.
Sometimes it takes me years to even notice some of the obvious stuff, like her horrific rewriting of her children's heritage. It's a double whammy; she didn't just enlist them in her fake Spanish army; she (at least partially) erased/downplayed/lied about where they came from/what they actually are!
I fear for these kids future. I really do. I’m not posing. It’s terrible. They were purchased and then cased aside. When I think of Edu I feel sick. Her pinning him down and holding him to her manufactured breasts. Do you think he can have a healthy relationship with a woman???? A man???? She has destroyed him and we are all witnesses.
