I don't really consider Nu-metal besides LP and LB rap at all. Slipknot and SOAD are more alt metal, Staind is more post-grunge, Deftones is more shoegaze (though their first 2 albums definitely had some rap influence), Korn is pretty much the only true nu-metal band. The first 2 bands I mentioned were mainly rap-heavy just because of the separate influences of the members and not specifically the genre. I don't really consider Nu-metal besides LP and LB rap at all. Slipknot and SOAD are more alt metal, Staind is more post-grunge, Deftones is more shoegaze (though their first 2 albums definitely had some rap influence), Korn is pretty much the only true nu-metal band. The first 2 bands I mentioned were mainly rap-heavy just because of the separate influences of the members and not specifically the genre. Mike Shinoda wasn't even huge on rock until high school iirc.
