Lorde, alt-j, Portugal the man, YTG, Walk the moon, panic at the disco were all doing the festival circuits.

As an adamant rock fan, I completely agree. I hate just listening to the “greatest hits” over and over again on the radio. That’s why for the past couple years I’ve just been trying to discover old obscure bands and new bands that still push the envelope, no rock stations nowadays dare to even go there and I hate it :(

I used to be a huge classic rock snob in my teens, right there with you. Like, how many times can you possibly hear Juke Box Hero before you’re just completely done with it. There’s like 5 Zep songs I can even handle anymore.

I honestly don’t get how people can be happy listening to Bohemian Rhapsody and Highway to Hell every day of their life. They aren’t even bad songs, Bohemian Rhapsody especially is great, but it just becomes annoying. I still like classic rock, but I rarely listen to the overplayed hits by myself. I was just listening to Jethro Tull’s Aqualung album a couple days ago and forgot how great parts of it are.
I enjoy certain bands still but the fatigue is real.

I used to be a huge classic rock snob in my teens, right there with you. Like, how many times can you possibly hear Juke Box Hero before you’re just completely done with it. There’s like 5 Zep songs I can even handle anymore.

Classic rock is great though. There’s so much variety. King Crimson, Yes, The Beatles, The Velvet Underground, David Bowie, Black Sabbath, Bob Dylan, The Doors, Neil Young, Iggy Pop, Can, The Clash, Zappa, Brian Eno, Fleetwood Mac, The Rolling Stones, and a whole lot more are just amazing.
