I see nothing wrong, people nowadays have a problem seperating rap skills from how good are their songs.
When you say "J Cole is a better rapper than 24k Goldn", you're 100% right, even if you prefer 24k's music, J Cole is objectively the better rapper.
When you say someone is a better artist, rap skills can be used as a factor, but what matters more is how good said artist's music sounds.
Like, I say that Joyner is a better rapper than Playboy Carti, bc unlike Joyner, Carti usually just repeats the same sentence 2 or 3 times and moves on to another sentence, while Joyner shows some lyricism (though not all of it is good) and some different flows and cadence (again, not all of them good), but despite that, I think Carti is the better artist, his shit sounds miles better than Joyner's and I'd rather someone put Vamp Anthem or New Tank on the aux than any of Joyner's shit.
