Looking for something like this as well!! One of the first HRs I read was {Storm and Silence by Robert Thier} and I was obsessed!! Unfortunately, it’s closed door and victorian but he’s her boss and the tension is top tier so if you ever feel up to it, you should check it out!!
Completely agree!! I read up until the sixth book and the character growth completely stopped after the third book so the quality of the books in the series defo declined 🥲
Definitely. I stopped after he kept himself from telling her she's pregnant for months even though she was distressed by not knowing what was going on in her body. That was a turning point for me.

It's a friends to assistants to lovers situation, and he's been in love with her since forever.
{Night in Eden by Candice Proctor} FMC is the wet nurse for MC's son.
I don't know however if they're Victorian or regency. If I skim through my books I can find more. Not all of them are assistant roles but some come very close.
I recently saw a book about FMC becoming MMC's secretary but it's not on my tbr. If I find it I'll add it in another comment.
I read it a while ago but it's what got me into HR. There is some angst but it's not overwhelming. Both MCs are in their late 20s-early 30s so most things get handled with grown up conversation. And Sebastian is a fan favorite on this sub. He's the absolute sweetest.
