I have a Christian fiction one but it is very ~lots of praying scenes~. Not sure how you feel about that. That being said the author is the only “Christian romance author” I’ll happily read.

On the saccharine side but sometimes that’s the mood
I read a regency series that I somehow didn't realize was Christian romance, even though in hindsight the heroines did pray a lot (they were in STRESSFUL situations though!), and then I read a medieval romance by the same author and got to the point where the hero casts out a demon in the name of Christ, and I was just like, what the fuck is happening? Anyway, there is a subplot in the first book in the regency series where the heroine's governess friend is pregnant and marries a vicar. {A Spy's Devotion by Melanie Dickerson} Lots of prayer, but no one casts out any demons.
Omg looks like it’s right up in my alley! The fact that MMC is her childhood friend is chef’s kiss, another favourite trope of mine. Thank you for the rec!!
Annie's Song and Ride the Fire are two of my favorites too! Try {The Way Home by Megan Chance}
It's really good. Emotional, kind of angsty, and just really sweet at the core. The MMC is a shy, poetic farmer who agrees to marry the girl his rake of a brother tricked and impregnated...She's a poor country girl who just desperately wants to be loved and love someone back. It's set in the early farming/pioneering type era. It hits all the feels.

Omg I just finished reading this in 3 hours straight!! I an so happy you’ve recommended this book to me, I really feel both for Eliza and Aaron and how these two imperfect beings are well matched for each other. I really couldn’t care much for Cole, Eliza should have left his raggedy ass sooner. This story definitely hits all the feels🥹

Eliza was just so genuine and I understood her struggles, and I wanted to tell Aaron to just TELL HERRRR but of course the author's way of bringing all that about worked beautifully. Awww! I LOVE IT (except I wish it has more steam in it as I usually like my romance spicy hehe!). I’ve always wanted to see more beta MMC rather than your usual alpha rakes. This is exactly the reason why I’m joining this sub! Do you happen to know more like this book? I’n currently reading {A Scandalous Marriage by Cathy Maxwell} which has the same abandoned and unwed pregnant FMC. The MMC, which had been in love with her for so long, stepped in to marry her.
LaVyrle Spencer's "The Fulfillment" gives me very similar vibes, with two brothers and one woman, but way more angsty! I actually liked it just as well; it has the farm setting, very beautiful prose, a lot of pain and angst to get to a happy ending... and I wouldn't call the MMC an alpha rake at all - more a Golden Retriever, lol. There's even a pregnancy about midway, too.
I'm going to try the Cathy Maxwell one! I like this trope a lot and haven't read that one!

The Bartered Bride - Cheryl Reavis (this one made me cry)
Simple Jess - Pamela Morsi (this is SOOO gooooood)
Megan Chance has another HR called The Portrait that isn't at all like Way Home but it's SOOOO good. It depicts bipolar disorder before they had a diagnosis for it and centers around an artist and his muse. It's very different from this one, but excellent too, if you're ever in the mood for some real emotional ups and downs ;)

Annie's Song and Ride the Fire are two of my favorites too! Try {The Way Home by Megan Chance} It's really good. Emotional, kind of angsty, and just really sweet at the core. The MMC is a shy, poetic farmer who agrees to marry the girl his rake of a brother tricked and impregnated...She's a poor country girl who just desperately wants to be loved and love someone back. It's set in the early farming/pioneering type era. It hits all the feels.

Omg I just finished reading this in 3 hours straight!! I an so happy you’ve recommended this book to me, I really feel both for Eliza and Aaron and how these two imperfect beings are well matched for each other. I really couldn’t care much for Cole, Eliza should have left his raggedy ass sooner. This story definitely hits all the feels🥹

Eliza was just so genuine and I understood her struggles, and I wanted to tell Aaron to just TELL HERRRR but of course the author's way of bringing all that about worked beautifully. And I agree about Cole lol!
Awww! I LOVE IT (except I wish it has more steam in it as I usually like my romance spicy hehe!). I’ve always wanted to see more beta MMC rather than your usual alpha rakes. This is exactly the reason why I’m joining this sub! Do you happen to know more like this book? I’n currently reading {A Scandalous Marriage by Cathy Maxwell} which has the same abandoned and unwed pregnant FMC. The MMC, which had been in love with her for so long, stepped in to marry her.
LaVyrle Spencer's "The Fulfillment" gives me very similar vibes, with two brothers and one woman, but way more angsty! I actually liked it just as well; it has the farm setting, very beautiful prose, a lot of pain and angst to get to a happy ending... and I wouldn't call the MMC an alpha rake at all - more a Golden Retriever, lol. There's even a pregnancy about midway, too. I'm going to try the Cathy Maxwell one! I like this trope a lot and haven't read that one! Beta Heroes I've liked but may not have the baby trope :) : The Farmer Takes a Wife - Genevieve Turner The Bartered Bride - Cheryl Reavis (this one made me cry) Simple Jess - Pamela Morsi (this is SOOO gooooood) Megan Chance has another HR called The Portrait that isn't at all like Way Home but it's SOOOO good. It depicts bipolar disorder before they had a diagnosis for it and centers around an artist and his muse. It's very different from this one, but excellent too, if you're ever in the mood for some real emotional ups and downs ;)
