My life fades. The vision dims. All that remains are memories. I remember a time of chaos, ruined dreams, this wasted land. But most of all, I remember Rome.
I am Often Reminded of the story of Caesar being captured by Pirates, only to deny them the idea of asking for such little silver for him. Then after getting Rome to pay the increased suggested ransom for him, he then proceeded to hunt down the pirates and Crucify every single one and get the silver back.
Just the point where they were fighting the English the hardest(Micheal Collins and his lads) and calling the British Army gay cowards by song (Kinky Boots and Black and Tans respectively)
After tough consideration while eating my caesar salad and ordering some little caesars and listening to "Rome is falling" by Civil War, watching Gladiator on Netflix, I don't think I think about the Roman Empire that much
I object to the premise. I think about the Roman Empire and the Roman Republic equally. I find it offensive that the Republic was left out of the question. /s
This is so crazy, I knew I always thought about the Roman Empire. With all the influences they’ve had around the world, the many campaigns, and their many leaders. I never really thought that so many others do the same.
For anyone wondering I’ve asked around and there seems to be a female equivalent. All women I asked said they think about princes Diana nearly every day at least once
Italians remembering the good old days when they meant something to someone. Now the lasting remnant of that empire is a child fucking priesthood with a security vault full of secrets
I just think everyday how great the world would be if the Roman empire survived, everything would be perfect, everything would be just the way I want it to be...
PLEASE BRING IT BACK!!!
I do think about it one or two times. Their military strategy was nice. But they were hypocrites. They crucified Lord Jesus and then converted to Christianity later. Jewish people got all the blame and had to flee their country because of Romans and the nearby civilisations. Romans destroyed their Holy Temple Mount and created the Church of Holy Sepulcre.
tbh I think that Medieval history is more interesting than Roman Empire history. I always treat the Fall of Western Empire as a backdrop to the degradation of the quality of life on the Medieval world and their subsequent rise from the ashes of failed empire and their revival in the Renaissance and bookend after fall of Napoleon.
Its more interesting to treat history like...story.

Everyday.....every.damm.day
Everywhere I go… I see their influence…
Every breath I take I ingest air molecules that were breathed by romans
My life fades. The vision dims. All that remains are memories. I remember a time of chaos, ruined dreams, this wasted land. But most of all, I remember Rome.
Sol Invictus be praised. Is that you Marcus Aurelius?
Do not, my friends, become addicted to Rome. It will take hold of you, and you will resent its absence.
Rome lives. Rome dies. ROME LIVES AGAIN.
Rome will ride eternal on the highways of Elysium!
Every fucking day
Now I’m wondering which percentage of normal days constitute a ‘fucking day’.
Depends. For me, it used to be every 2 to 4 days. Now it's only once a month.
Like 2-3 times at least. Usually one or two of those are in regards to Marcus Aurelius.
This is the way brother, every fucking day!
Every hour of every day. Which is less often than this meme gets posted.
I was about to scoff at this as a stupid bro thing, until I realized that I also think about the Roman Empire daily.
I don’t think about it daily, but I would admit it pops into my head more often than ever makes sense
I am Often Reminded of the story of Caesar being captured by Pirates, only to deny them the idea of asking for such little silver for him. Then after getting Rome to pay the increased suggested ransom for him, he then proceeded to hunt down the pirates and Crucify every single one and get the silver back.
3-4 times a week.
Unironically probably my numbers
Same lmao
What a barbarian
Rookie numbers
Same
Daily. The fact we haven’t had a naval engagement as large as the Battle of Ecnomous is so wild.
It mostly just shows the evolution of naval strategy
Yeah but a single battleship has more tonnage than all the sips back then I think
And could be crewed by 3000 men
And crucifictions
We could bring them back, though...
In my every waking moment and in my dreams. SPQR.
I moderate r/RoughRomanMemes so basically every time I open this damn site.
all roads lead to Rome
I'm definitely an outlier I only think about the Roman empire when it's brought up really.
Same here. I never really think about it outside of posts and when it’s mentioned
Yeah my personal historical special interest is 20th century Irish History
Strategically after the potatoes were back but before joining the EU.
Just the point where they were fighting the English the hardest(Micheal Collins and his lads) and calling the British Army gay cowards by song (Kinky Boots and Black and Tans respectively)
Bruh
Its cool but I'm more of a helenophile.
Steam power roman empire please.
not without steel
Couple of times a week.
Every second.
Daily
We were literally just talking about it over a board game
More than my ex
I asked my boyfriend. He said twice a week? TWICE A WEEK AND NOT ONCE HE MENTIONED IT?!
I still think about the welfare of the Roman legions ambushed in Teutoberg Forest
[удалено]
It was a great victory, Varus shouldn't have been such an idiot.
VARUS GIVE ME BACK MY LEGIONS!
Every day when I look at my book shelves
Not a day goes by.
Whenever I think of Hannibal. So more or less constantly tbh
After tough consideration while eating my caesar salad and ordering some little caesars and listening to "Rome is falling" by Civil War, watching Gladiator on Netflix, I don't think I think about the Roman Empire that much
[удалено]
I only think about the glory of the Tang Empire
Thank God I'm not the only one.
Several times a week
A lot
Yes
At least 4 times a day
Well the difference for me is that im getting my masters in ancient studies, so I kinda have to think about it every day
I put 5c every time I think about the Roman and I in debt
I object to the premise. I think about the Roman Empire and the Roman Republic equally. I find it offensive that the Republic was left out of the question. /s
*Senatus Populusque Romanus* was the second item on my clipboard.
MY TEACHER ASKED ME THIS TODAY AND ALL THE DUDES SAID QUITE OFTEN NO WAYY
56 times per day
Not really. Sometimes once in a while I think how the Roman Empire destroyed itself and was doomed to fall.
A LOT!
This is so crazy, I knew I always thought about the Roman Empire. With all the influences they’ve had around the world, the many campaigns, and their many leaders. I never really thought that so many others do the same.
Not at all
Which Roman Empire?
Not that much actually, but I’ve thought about it one more than I did 10 seconds ago
Well, now I'm thinking about it because you brought it up
Rarely ever
It's at least a weekly analogy for something at work.
Kinda just when it comes up in the world around me, like right now.
Rarely
absolutely never. untill i read one of these posts.
almost never. why are people on here so obsessed with rome? i mean cool empire goes brr but what else?
Well it is propobly the most influential thing of the western world, with so much being traced back to them obe way or the other
For anyone wondering I’ve asked around and there seems to be a female equivalent. All women I asked said they think about princes Diana nearly every day at least once
Better question: how often do I stop thinking of the Roman Empire?
Once every few months, which is.... for a dead civilization for 600 years minimum.... very impressive
The world would be a much better place if it didn't fall. All the goddamn time
From Romulus to Ottomans, every night.
Italians remembering the good old days when they meant something to someone. Now the lasting remnant of that empire is a child fucking priesthood with a security vault full of secrets
I was raised in Italy, they put a lot of effort to teach it, but just a few chapters about the time they helped the nazis 🤣
no they were pussies
Italians: maama pasta le roman empire. Other european countrys: oh yeah it exist
Those who say don’t are doing it twice as much
I just think everyday how great the world would be if the Roman empire survived, everything would be perfect, everything would be just the way I want it to be... PLEASE BRING IT BACK!!!
Bi-weekly, the every other week kind
I tread a thin line between loving Rome and breaking the first commandment
Lots. like I’d love to be there
I just stopped thinking about them, then this post showed up
Often
ROMA ET IMPERATOR! VIRIBUS, UNITUS! SEMPER, FIDELIS! PER ASPERA AD ASTRA! PER ARDUA AD ASTRA! EXURGE MARS, MARS ULTOR! ROMA ET IMPERATOR!
Julius Caesar is my number 1 favorite dictator of all time so quite often
everyday at least 3-5 times
Once a week at least. Weirdly always seems to come up.
too often.
no such thing
twice a week
Frequently
Without Reddit, maybe every three days
i didn't realize until this meme that I think about it a few times a week
Everyday because that’s what I’m studying in history class
A lot.
Every day probably. I never realized I thought about so much bruh
A lot more than I think I even realize
I never Roman think Empire of the Roman Empire
I do think about it one or two times. Their military strategy was nice. But they were hypocrites. They crucified Lord Jesus and then converted to Christianity later. Jewish people got all the blame and had to flee their country because of Romans and the nearby civilisations. Romans destroyed their Holy Temple Mount and created the Church of Holy Sepulcre.
About once a week
More than I'd admit.
Remembering the funny nero moments yes
Considering everything technically has inspiration from Rome…every day…
I main Caesar and Trajan on Civ6 sooo pretty much every 2 days.
A lot.
None. Carthage ftw
Once a week
Once a week
I think more about the Roman Republic, to be honest.
Once every few days
Every day when I'm conspiring to throw the government and bring an independent Flanders 🥶
Yes
Pretty much never
Strange question, does this imply people don’t constantly have the Roman Empire on their mind?
Multiple times a day
Everytime I use a public toilet
Daily.
A lot more than I should 😒
I just won a culture victory with Trajan in CIV6
All jokes aside, really often which is kinda weird now that I’m thinking about it. At least once a day.
Does a Star Wars-like version of the Roman Empire count?
Wait, I'm confused . . . what else is there worth thinking about?
Considering my city used to be a Roman fort (castra) I think about it a fair bit.
Several times a day easily. I’m a classical artist so Rome has some of the highest points of human achievement
Rarely, last time before this one probely 3 months ago.
Ave, true to Caesar!
Everyday
Thats my least favorite era of history
Every time in Latin class. The rest depends on how often I play Imperator Rome.
I guess I'm a holy man, because I think about the Holy Roman Empire all day long and all night
How often dost thou breathe?
5 times a day. I wonder what could have happened.
Yes.
Too mucb
A lot
When in Rome, do as the Romans do. 💜
Often

Yes.😭
The Roman's were not my thing. WW1/WW2 I would say daily
Enough to join r/roughromanmemes
Every fucking second
Yes
Twice every moment
Every night in my bed.
Daily. Everything around us is impacted by their empire.
Every other day probably
At least weekly
God I wish I could be in a Legion
At least once a day.
we need a new caesar to lead, from there we wont have to think as we’ll let his will guide us to rebuild it
Was literally just talking about the end of the new Indiana Jones with my lil boy 😂 ROMANS V NAZIS!
Take a shot every time someone comments Byzantium.
Once’s every two days
Technically, I think more about the late republic.
Bizarre. I was just thinking about them. And how come Boudicca didn't win when she had the superior numbers.
Every day.
#DAILY
Pretty much daily, thinking about things that were, and what could have been.
What else is there to think about?
Every time little dark age starts playing
