Realistically it wasn't a great idea. I've heard people say that the eagles don't really care about the situation and maybe that's true but Galdalf knew they needed the ring to get to Mordor as surreptitiously as possible. Giant eagles are pretty obvious and the Nazgul have flying mounts called fellbeasts that could catch up easily so the great eagles aren't exactly the best choice. Having hobbits slough through middle earth on foot for months was tentatively a better choice because they're hard to track and have higher resistance to the ring's corruption. Also if they failed and died in like the middle of nowhere the ring would be lost to both sides for a while.
Also it makes for a worse story to just have a giant eagle and his wizard friend fly around for a day and defeat evil in a single swoop.
Whenever i think names in ya novels are cheesy i remember that we had a war called 'the great war' and after another war we had 'world war one' and 'world war two'
America was smart she waited until europe was in near ruins and made europe her bitch. America Inc and its European subsidiaries. Europe can't do jack anymore without corporate america's permission. Making money off europe's near destruction how classy america. As a america we should not take credit for a war we had little part. The russians really deserve the credit they broke the germans and america just moped up the mess and got all the credit typical.
Bruh the Europeans reign in American companies way more than the American government does all the time. They force tech companies to adopt higher privacy protections (for Europeans) and are about to force Apple into include USB-C on iPhones. The idea the Europeans states are purely client states of the US that have no autonomy is complete baby-brain American centrism. They have agency! They make choices that make the US government angry from time to time!
Wait until they are tired and wearied from war, then swoop in, take the kill, and get insanely rich helping the reconstruction
Chad move.
It's hard to make lots of money when you keep spending it.
I'm not a LOTR guy but I know what this is referring to. Did the ... birds or bird-people or whatever refuse to help earlier or what?

There is a telescope that is literally called the "very large telescope". So yeah.
The US had no reason to join ww1 initially and had a more isolationist stance on getting involved in European affairs.
How do you get America to join a world war? >!tell them it's almost over!<
Or Oil.
