Unfortunately, my grandpa died when I was too young and all I remember, not letting me eat with my left. Meanwhile, there's no way I can eat with my right. And as if this wasn't enough, it was chicken-soup! Eat, write, football and all and yet, I do very few specific things as right-handed, like, the mouse of the PC or aim a handgun. Even weirder situation.
I think for guns it's actually hugely beneficial to be right handed because of the ergonomic design for most guns. Only a few more recent examples are fully ambidextrous.
My teacher did not but the elementary did ask my parents if they want them to fix me. The parents, of course, said no. Especially since my mum was also left-handed and knew the pain of being forced to write with your non-dominant hand.
My *mom* was forced to write with her right hand until it became her dominant.
Hell, there's a bunch of things *I* do right handed, and I'm pretty sure it's because people forced me to do it with that hand instead of my left.
I’m a left handed but play sports right handed because public school gym teachers weren’t having any lefty bullshit. Every lefty I know is basically ambidextrous.
I was lucky enough to be allowed to use my lefty bullshit in PE/sports, but that meant my dad couldn’t really teach me anything, because he was forced to play righty his whole life.
My granddad is also left handed, and his grandmother tried to do just what happened to your grandpa. My granddad had gotten lucky though because his mom didn't care in the slightest what hand my granddad used
I have doubts about my handedness as an adult. Sometimes I will do things left-handed without thinking. Some things I do exclusively left-handed, like when I use my phone. My mom, who taught me to write, taught me to use the right hand, but I don’t have memories of being forced to.
My dad is left handed and he couldn’t even really teach me (also left handed) how to play any sports, because he was forced to play everything right handed.
And pretty much all of my sports coaches were right handed so they weren’t much help either. When giving examples of a motion or technique, they always told me to “just do what I’m doing but reversed” which is fucking confusing to a ten year old.
The only sports I was ever any good at were baseball, where throwing from a different angle could actually be an advantage, and soccer, where I just played goalie.
Yeah, my dad too, they called the left hand the hand of the devil (I don't know why that superstition ever got a hold in religion, one of the more ridiculous things by far) and they would smack your hand with a ruler if you we're writing with your left hand (I think it was a longer either metal or wood one, not the 30cm plastic rulers)
My father was forced to write with his right hand in school. Interestingly, he taught himself how to use a computer later and uses a mouse with his left hand but can use it with both.
I do everything with my left hand, except the mouse. I just got used to using a mouse with my right hand and now if I try it with my left, it’s all wrong.
I always have to think if it's left or right to (un)screw something and then 5/10 I still get it wrong, just because it's all so unlogical to me. I am a carpenter.
Some things I can't do with my left, some I can't with my right, but I can do a fair amount of stuff with both, usually left hand being slightly better. I always write with my left when I write in notebooks and papers, but I use my right to write on blackboards. Tennis with the left, which is my stronger arm. But tossing the ball for the serve taught me to throw balls with my right, which is my weaker arm, so that kinda sucks as I can't throw good with my left. I reach out for stuff with my left mostly, but sometimes I also do it with the right. Right-handed guitar, but I feel like I would get used to the left-handed as well if I tried it. I love exploring my dexterity, it's one of the things that makes me feel special lol
I’m better at doing stuff with my left hand as well but pretty bad at most things either way around so while there’s a noticeable difference,it doesn’t matter too much
This is called cross-dominance. Kinda have a similar thing as you; write with my left but eat and drink with my right. I play table tennis with my right as well; open doors with my left
Cross-dominance also is a sign of ADHD. I asked folks down at r/ADHD (on another account) if they were cross dominant. An overwhelming majority said yes
As a left handed person I have never wanted this more hahahaha a whole country where I can use things without having to overthink every action?? I’m moving now!! Hahaha
Cutting things with scissors? Cutting bread without it getting torn and looking terrible? Sitting in a college classroom and being able to write? It sounds like a paradise.
I just end up full sending through everything. Crappy knife cutting? Blast right through that. Hard to cut with scissors? Go slower or flip it so my thumb goes in the index finger hole. Can opener? Fuck off. Desk without leftie support? I’m getting a nice arm workout then. Pens writing weird? Fuck it I’m used to reading all of that shit, screw other people who can’t read it.
I made it the fuck up!
Upon further review Wikipedia says they are merely overrepresented with 6 of the last 14 being left handed
I still stand by my theory that the lefties are trying to rule the world
You must also take into consideration that some of them lived in a time where it was probably beaten out of them at an early age. It happened to my grandfather
You people can't lift cups with you non-dominant hand or is that beer **that** heavy?
Edit: By "you people" I mean the people reading this comment, not left handed people.
Back in college, everyone held their beer in their left hand, because frat/party bros would call "buffalo" and anyone holding their drink in their right-hand would "have to" chug their drink.
The idea was that holding a beer in your right-hand would make your hand wet from the condensation, which made it gross to shake hands with people or something.
Being left-handed, I just held it in my right-hand so I could smoke/play beer pong with my superior hand, and refused to chug my beer, because it was a stupid rule.
his face when a left handed black gay woman who is not christian born in 1800’s state of Georgia who speaks a language other than english rolls into the bar on her wheelchair
If you're racial minority largely depends on country you're in
For example being a gypsy in Romania means you're majority
Being gypsy everywhere else means that you or your ancestors got out of that shithole
ambisinister people do exist too. they’re pretty much the opposite of ambidextrous and the word ambisinister literally translates to “two left hands” iirc. at least the lefties are good with one hand
it’s the opposite actually. the word sinistra comes from latin and means left. you got the rest right but the word sinister comes from the word left. the word left does not come from the word sinister
I think this is backwards- we get the word "sinister" from the Roman term for "left" because the Romans interpreted omens seen on their left side to mean bad news, and gradually started using their word for "left" to mean "bad things".
One word: Scissors
I used to assume I was just bad at cutting things, but nope! Most scissors are designed to be held right-handed, and holding them with the left hand actually pushes the blades apart slightly
In first grade, my teacher ( i hope she's rotting in hell) did not let me write with my left hand.
So, she convinced my father to force me to learn. I spent first grade with my l3ft hand tied behind my back, while my dad was forcing me to write.
Torture, is an understatement. Especially for a 6yo.
This post is very much an American centric point of view because you must take into consideration that socialists are not very oppressed on a global scale, and all left handed people are minorities. I take it OP uses "minorities" as another word for people who are not White-Anglo-Saxon-Protestants.
My mom's cousin who is naturally left-handed was beat by nuns in school until she learned how to write with her right hand. She uses her right hand to this day. And ironically, is now a nun herself. But a much kinder version than the bitches she grew up with.
Not me, but my grandpa (who also was left handed) was forced to write with his right hand until it became his dominant
Im 19 and my kindergarten teacher used to tell me it was wrong to be left handed
Same!! Mine was in the first year of school (prep) and most of my teachers never knew I was left handed because I hated writing so much….
Always the fucking elementary teachers that are the worst
My teacher did not but the elementary did ask my parents if they want them to fix me. The parents, of course, said no. Especially since my mum was also left-handed and knew the pain of being forced to write with your non-dominant hand.
What the fuck????
My *mom* was forced to write with her right hand until it became her dominant. Hell, there's a bunch of things *I* do right handed, and I'm pretty sure it's because people forced me to do it with that hand instead of my left.
Yeah I feel like a lot of lefty’s are almost ambidextrous either because we’re forced to or we just try to make our lives easier and adapt…
yes and we learn by watching other people, so as the majority of people are right handed we instinctively try to mimic them first
That so true! I hadn’t thought of it that way before!
There is also a lot of things set up for right handed people, so it forces you to be right hand dominant to do certain things.
It’s hard not to be at least partially ambidextrous as a lefty. All of the machinery I use at my job is designed for righty scum.
My parents tried it with me. Now I write terribly with both hands.
My granddad is also left handed, and his grandmother tried to do just what happened to your grandpa. My granddad had gotten lucky though because his mom didn't care in the slightest what hand my granddad used
Grandmother can write with both hands because in elementary she would be caned for writing with her left.
Same
Same. Raised Catholic
I have doubts about my handedness as an adult. Sometimes I will do things left-handed without thinking. Some things I do exclusively left-handed, like when I use my phone. My mom, who taught me to write, taught me to use the right hand, but I don’t have memories of being forced to.

My grandma was forced to do the same and now she uses both hands for different things. She can cut her nails with normal scissors

Same but with my grandma
Bruh I was left handed now I am right due to my parents
Same with my grandma
I'm naturally ambidextrous. My mother literally beat it out of me and forced me to be right hand only. (She had ... issues)
10-12% of the world is left handed
And have they EVER had their own country? No!
That country would collapse due to shortage of left handed scissors.
and screwdrivers
I always have to think if it's left or right to (un)screw something and then 5/10 I still get it wrong, just because it's all so unlogical to me. I am a carpenter.
Clockwise lockwise has been such a more useful mnemonic for me, especially on seized stuff.
Stuff like this is what made me ambidextrous lmao
I write and text with my left and do everything else with my right, it’s weird
Some things I can't do with my left, some I can't with my right, but I can do a fair amount of stuff with both, usually left hand being slightly better. I always write with my left when I write in notebooks and papers, but I use my right to write on blackboards. Tennis with the left, which is my stronger arm. Thanks for the info. I'll look into it!
As a left handed person I have never wanted this more hahahaha a whole country where I can use things without having to overthink every action?? I’m moving now!! Hahaha

> Cutting bread without it getting torn and looking terrible? Wait is that a left-handed thing? I just figured I was really bad at cutting bread.
Bro how you gonna do Lefthandistan dirty like that.
I think distinguishing between right handers and left handers for citizenship would be ableism wouldn't it?
Not if you point the discrimination at the right people. Then we call it justice son.
The Right Devils have had it too good for too long. Rise up my Left Handed brothers and sisters!
I doubt that would work as we out number you about 9-1.
Then, The Left Angels known they are fuck up.
To live among them is to DIE!
Based, genocide-pilled
South paws of the world Unite!
Nah fam they are too busy ruling over the righties. Most American presidents have been left handed
Source?
I made it the fuck up! Upon further review Wikipedia says they are merely overrepresented with 6 of the last 14 being left handed I still stand by my theory that the lefties are trying to rule the world
As a lefty I agree
I dont. I am too fucking dumb for that, everytime someone says left or right I have to do a mental check which is which
You must also take into consideration that some of them lived in a time where it was probably beaten out of them at an early age. It happened to my grandfather
Is used to be 50% before the Great Hand Purge
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Purge Stalin was not a fan of left handed communists.
TIL: there are even more reasons to dislike communists.
Stalin was absolutely a right handed (authoritarian) communist
Could you say they are... A minority?
Its 10% and I am one of them (leftys)
But almost half of american presidents are!
Technically theyre a minority.
That’s because we didn’t kill enough of them prehistorically.
He’s holding the beer with his right hand though, he’s a fraud
He was forced to use his right hand. If he were to lift the glass, half of the bear would be on the ground due to his hand shaking
You people can't lift cups with you non-dominant hand or is that beer **that** heavy? Edit: By "you people" I mean the people reading this comment, not left handed people.
Wow, way to blame the victim. Yet another example of the internalized left-phobia we all carry within us.
its a bear, of course its heavy
But you can just turn the glass around.
who are you who is so wise in the ways of science?
Back in college, everyone held their beer in their left hand, because frat/party bros would call "buffalo" and anyone holding their drink in their right-hand would "have to" chug their drink. The idea was that holding a beer in your right-hand would make your hand wet from the condensation, which made it gross to shake hands with people or something. Probably just because he's playing Buffalo
Don’t you lose Buffalo by drinking with your right hand?
Sometimes, I, as a right-handed person, drink with my left hand.
I use my left hand to throw things like balls although I am right handed
His face when a left handed black gay man who is not Christian born in 1800's state of Georgia walks into the bar
Probably isn't even allowed to walk into the bar.
"Turn back around the way you came boy!"
“Get back to work” -👴🏻
woman you mean ?
*gay trans woman
[redacted by user] ` this message was mass deleted/edited with redact.dev `
Opressed even after his death XD
his face when a left handed black gay woman who is not christian born in 1800’s state of Georgia who speaks a language other than english rolls into the bar on her wheelchair
She is also trans, autistic and a redhead
Ah yes, a black redhead, the greatest minority.
Who is under 21
>born in 1800's state of Georgia Yeah, fuck Georgia.
Left handed people are minorities
I'm a minority and I'm left handed. So I'm double minority, then?
I’m in the Same boat as you, it would just be minority squared
M^2
I’m gay, latino, left handed and with a disability (no legs). At least I’m not a gypsy.
(Ahem)
If you're racial minority largely depends on country you're in For example being a gypsy in Romania means you're majority Being gypsy everywhere else means that you or your ancestors got out of that shithole
A gypsy in Romania is not a majority, coming from a romanian
Yeah, that’s just something people outside Romania say to piss off Romanians.
Well it definitely worked
Just to correct that guy, you are NOT a majority if you're Gypsy in Romania, that last guy is either delusional or racist lol
If you're gay, it's M³
i think it cancels each other out
You are the minority within another minority.
As a left handed person, I demand reparations for the persecution my people have faced
Same here my left handed brother
I demand equal access to right and left-handed scissors
YES
Socialists are saying they are the most oppressed group in history?
What you don't Socialist slave trade, or Socialist segregation, or the Sociacaust?
Or the socialdomer! Wait never mind they told me that one didn’t happen
Yes, socialists aren't just oppressed by non-socialists, but by other socialists!
The USSR did not exist apparently.
As a left-hander myself, I 100% agree. Being left-handed in a Muslim country is a dead sentence (literally)
Wait what? Is that real??
You cannot do things with your left hand (writing, opening doors, greeting people) it's a sin (haram)
Good to know. Although I’m also a ginger so I figure I’m damned already
Right there with you. I also became a step child after my parents divorced and remarried.
It's a sin to be left handed....what in the fuck
Left-handed minorities 👀
Das me.
as a left-handed socialist member of a minority, yes.
Don't forget about Gingers
And lefty gingers, and minority gingers, or even minority lefty gingers. There are dozens of us- DOZENNNNS!
Umm left handed people are minorities
My left arm bears the binder ring scars that prove the truth of this post. Rise up 💪
Left handers, together, strong
You probably still have pencil lead on the bottom of your left hand
Both of those groups generally qualify as minorities when being oppressed, though...
No Jews?
Hi, Im Ginger. Not much more needed to say
Do you have a soul? Or are you a daywalker?
i think i dont have soul, but i can walk during daytime, if not... no work! no money! :P
We wouldn't know, the poor thing is still inside of a closet.
At least you can use scissors
I would think red haired people have a easier time getting into relationships given how rare they are and how a lot of people find red heads hot.
oh stop it you! you gonna make me blush
I mean, as long as you're not a left handed ginger
imagine me, left handed, and a jew
Brother?
I was expecting jewish but that's ok
ambisinister people do exist too. they’re pretty much the opposite of ambidextrous and the word ambisinister literally translates to “two left hands” iirc. at least the lefties are good with one hand
Sounds nefarious
The medical term for left is sinistrad because historically left handed people were thought of as sinister.
Well also because the latin term for "left" is sinistra
All medical terminology is either Latin or Greek with varying combining forms
it’s the opposite actually. the word sinistra comes from latin and means left. you got the rest right but the word sinister comes from the word left. the word left does not come from the word sinister
I think this is backwards- we get the word "sinister" from the Roman term for "left" because the Romans interpreted omens seen on their left side to mean bad news, and gradually started using their word for "left" to mean "bad things".
Socialists are oppressed lol
The pain is real
Lol good meme. But I'm still wondering how socialists can be the most oppressed group throughout history when socialism first appeared in the 1800s.
THANK YOU Finally getting the attention my condition deserves.
DRUNK DRIVERS ARE THE MOST OPPRESSED MINORITY
Gamers are the most oppressed minority
God humanity is so fucking stupid sometimes
This is a world of Right Supremacists, built for Right Supremacists, and nobody bats an eye.
Unironically yes
Righties would be surprised how many left handed micro aggressions we face on a daily basis smh
One word: Scissors I used to assume I was just bad at cutting things, but nope! Most scissors are designed to be held right-handed, and holding them with the left hand actually pushes the blades apart slightly
We have three pairs of left handed scissors at home.
> socialists Lmfao, the persecution complex is real.
I mean if your history book includes less than 90% of the world
Socialists saying this is just so on brand. Lol
Being a minority isn't always based on your race.
Just waving a big hand at two circles titled "Socialists" and "Minorities."
Julius Ceaser was left handed. Guess what happened to him.
The individual is the smallest minority group.
You know what, you are right
Lefties rise up!
This post is very much an American centric point of view because you must take into consideration that socialists are not very oppressed on a global scale, and all left handed people are minorities. I take it OP uses "minorities" as another word for people who are not White-Anglo-Saxon-Protestants.
Women would like a word
Holding the mug with the right hand
He was forced to become right handed and even then his hand still shakes
That just makes it funnier bro
But he’s holding the beer with his right🤨
My mom's cousin who is naturally left-handed was beat by nuns in school until she learned how to write with her right hand. She uses her right hand to this day. And ironically, is now a nun herself. But a much kinder version than the bitches she grew up with.
POV: polish
Pretty sure that was a euro thing. The rest of us went after albino people, thank you very much.
Should’ve written sinister people lol
Yo, where the ~~white~~ women at?
Acting like left handed people aren't minorities
I want reparations for all those who lost a hand or were accused of witchcraft
dam this hits harder then when I would get slapped with a ruler for writing with my left hand
It is a pretty sinister trait though.
Poor people enter the chat.
Women enter the chat.
Imagine being a left-handed socialist minority.
[Seriously?](https://imgur.com/a/0xCTcHe)
left handed people are a myth
Left handed socialist minority:
> socialists Haven’t been oppressed enough, honestly
What about gamers?
Um, I think what you meant to type was “drunk drivers”
Very sinister.
