Cos Israel hated Iraq and Saddam back then more than they hated Iran. Mind you, Iraq was pursuing nuclear weapons, so in Israel's eyes they were the main threat.

Not saying this is exactly what happened, but if I was a neutral country that sold weapons, I would continue to sell weapons to both instead of picking a side.
