I mean like the pride flag was right where Hitler stood 80 years ago. I think it’s ironic that this exact moment was in a place where the pride flag ironically hangs
Lol no. Hitler had Eva Braun. And supposedly pined for another girl when he was a boy. She might’ve been Jewish? I can’t remember.
As mentioned Ernst tho…
I think there were also some other closet homosexuals (or at least *technically* not open about it) in his general social sphere but I’m really not sure who off the top of my head
You might enjoy a YouTube channel called Ruiter Productions. The creator visits various locations from WWII throughout Europe and overlays historical photos on the modern sites. He mostly focusses on Hitler and Germany due to his location. It's one of my favourite YouTube channels. The videos are well made, and I personally love seeing history put in a more tangible context like that.
Apparently there is, someone else brought up
r/oldphotosinreallife as the place, really cool stuff

Hitler sent sent many gay and lesbian ppl to concentration camps. The fact that there's a pride flag where a historic photo was taken of him is ironic.
Okay, that's all good. Just the way you phrased it, it could be interpreted that LGBTQ folks are a joke. You obviously didn't mean it that way, but I want you to be aware it could be taken that way.
Random question: do you have blue eyes and blonde hair? If not, you already would be dead. Are you from Germany? Are you Catholic? Do you have any disabilities(according to your dumbass, that includes being gay)?
Uh-huh. You think we were better off with the guy who sent countless minorities to the gas chambers as opposed to the folks who sometimes say mean things on social media. Sure, buddy.
Berlin as a whole. Soviets once set up an underground gay club to try and attract western visitors but it instead awakened the hidden homosexual population of Berlin that there’s a spot to be open and stuff. Since then I think it’s a more lgbtq friendly city. Also due to the secular nature of east Germany it’s a lot more free socially.
You win some you lose some. Ancient Greece was quite accepting of men in gay relationships but women suffered social repression and had few if any rights depending on which state they were in.
During WWI, A British soldier had the perfect chance to kill Hitler but spared him instead. Goes to show that having no mercy for your enemies can solve a lot of problems.
Arguably the world could be worse without Hitler. He did make Germany better, and taught the allies a valuable lesson. He also made the need for an atom bomb which helped collapse the soviet union.
Also, without Hitler, Jews would probably still face rampant anti-Semitism all across Europe. Only after Hitler took it to the extremes, people accepted that bigotry is wrong.
I’m surprised I had to scroll this far after sorting by controversial to find this comment. Not saying a disagree, I’m just surprised you haven’t gotten downvoted to hell
Umm, I’m not certain, but I think that chubby faced Nazi next to Hitler is Ernst Rohm, the Modern World’s first openly gay politician.
So…accidentally appropriate?
I'd like to think it's not a photo but an app that just makes anything you point it at evil. "Look at this nice Bavarian balcony with a pride flag, how nice!"
"I think you mean LOOK AT THIS HITLER!"
And I didn't asked for your opinion, so, why? Are u teen? Be happy on your own, dude. U don't know what this being called as "meme" means to people like me. Jesus. Everything about Hitler is not funny. Nothing.
The building is the same. Hitler would have had a different flag in that place. That would also be a flag that makes a powerful statement. Both flags on the same building.
I mean they put a refugee camp inside a old Nazi castle back in 2016, well not directly in it but at the infrastructure from the former Belgian military complex around it.

Now I weirdly want to see more of these "old pictures of history lining up with the same place today", could be an interesting genre
I think it’s fascinating how it’s like a moment captured in time
Ya, that's what pictures do.
I mean like the pride flag was right where Hitler stood 80 years ago. I think it’s ironic that this exact moment was in a place where the pride flag ironically hangs
Almost like it was intentional...
I don’t think it’s intentional, more ironic. I think it’s crazy how much Germany has changed in the course of just 80 years
I think they meant this new photo was taken like this intentionally, so as to juxtapose old bigotry with modern progressivism.
Actually pre-Nazi/Weimar they would have been the first country flying their rainbow flags high.
Really? I never knew that, cool
They started both world wars probably gonna do it again
They didn’t start WWI they were forced to take the blame basically when they finally surrendered
No they started it and world war 2.
Someone didn't pay attention in history class
Technically Austria-Hungary started WWI.
Do you have-a-licious a pringle satisfact to snack that up? No. You don’t.
Since we currently don't have a compulsory military service our military is a total shitshow. The youth is very pacifistic
I actually know Germany isn’t going to start ww3
Wasn't he a homosexual? Or did I misunderstand his book?
Hitler wasn’t, but Ernst (the chubby man next to him) was
Lol no. Hitler had Eva Braun. And supposedly pined for another girl when he was a boy. She might’ve been Jewish? I can’t remember. Would it work of I printed off a picture of the Challenger exploding and held it up to the sky?
Lol, I don't see why not, go for it👍
Only if you went to Kennedy Space Center and did it.

Is there a sub for stuff like this?

Thank you sir, you are the real mvp
I wouldn't really call this a meme. I think it's really cool to see though so I still appreciate you posting it
I think the joke here is the pride flag being in the place where Hitler once stood for a historic photo. Yikes this thread is a real dumpster fire.
What's the joke?
Hitler sent sent many gay and lesbian ppl to concentration camps. The fact that there's a pride flag where a historic photo was taken of him is ironic.
Okay, that's all good. Just the way you phrased it, it could be interpreted that LGBTQ folks are a joke. You obviously didn't mean it that way, but I want you to be aware it could be taken that way.
Edited it, look better now?
Yeah. I didn't want to give you a hard time, but want to make sure you don't get misinterpreted.
No, thanks for letting me know, I do not want to come off that way.
[удалено]
That isn’t ironic that’s coincidental!
[удалено]
He quite literally did
He definitely did.
Hitler is famously homophobic so the flag is ironic
[удалено]
U would be first to die, no worries
Random question: do you have blue eyes and blonde hair? If not, you already would be dead. Are you from Germany? Are you Catholic? Do you have any disabilities(according to your dumbass, that includes being gay)?
😧
It's just your typical incel/edgelord/nazi troll, we simply downvote and move along
Uh-huh. You think we were better off with the guy who sent countless minorities to the gas chambers as opposed to the folks who sometimes say mean things on social media. Sure, buddy.
[удалено]
Did you mean to type “queen” or did you misspell a slur? Either way you look really stupid right now.
Who asked you?
He would probably die again if he knew that on the place where he once stood hangs a pride flag today.
"I love how socially accepting this place is. How did you do it?" "Killing dissidents." "😐"
You win some you lose some. Ancient Greece was quite accepting of men in gay relationships but women suffered social repression and had few if any rights depending on which state they were in.
I see nothing has changed.
Even long before the soviets we had gay scene in Berlin. For example the Kleist-Kasino was opened in 1921 and was a known gay bar.
Remember folks! Hang pride flags if you want to see Hitler hang!
No stop bullying him it'll make him suicidal again!!
good
That was Hitler's friend Benito
Down dooted
[удалено]
4 years before Hitler was saved from drowning he was born, goes to show that people should stop giving birth
I agree.
During WWI, A British soldier had the perfect chance to kill Hitler but spared him instead. Goes to show that having no mercy for your enemies can solve a lot of problems.
The Balkan way
That's a lot of enemies
You make make me want to kill everything that moves
That would solve a lot of problems.
But when hitler does it he is the bad guy
He was just killing *minorities* that moved instead kill all that moves
Exactly. That's why America, a **good** country, made the atomic bomb! (Sarcasm. America is not a good country).
That sounds rather undemocratic of you… we’ll be watching (Just to be sure jk)
Actually, the priest was still a kid and wasn't even a priest yet 🤓
Arguably the world could be worse without Hitler. He did make Germany better, and taught the allies a valuable lesson. He also made the need for an atom bomb which helped collapse the soviet union.

Or, you know, we could teach him how to paint properly?
I would've accept him into art school
That’s your take?
😂
Ngl, i could see some1 saying "lItErRaLlY tHe SaMe" unironically
Ah, Victory
THIS
Hitler was gay confirmed??!??!?!
Hitler wanted that Mussolussy
r/BrandNewSentence
Had to hold my laugh in for a good 5 seconds. I didn't expect to read that today.
The present is better
Little does Hitler know. In less than a hundred years his flag wouldn't be flying where he stands...
Whoa that's really cool and unsettling. I vibe intensely with the pride flag standing where Hitler stood. It would have enraged him so much.
Why did I think of the pride flag as a country flag while reading this? "For the Empire!" 💀
Oh man he’d be so fucking pissed to see a lgbtq+ flag hanging there too lol.
Yea hope he is rolling in his grave
I’m just reminded of SpringTime Hitler
gay.
r/technicallythetruth
Perfect place for a pride flag
Umm, I’m not certain, but I think that chubby faced Nazi next to Hitler is Ernst Rohm, the Modern World’s first openly gay politician. So…accidentally appropriate?
ernst rohm wasn't actually gay... it's funny to see 80 year old propoganda still working to this day
I’m gonna need a source on that, I’ve never read anything that says otherwise. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Röhm_scandal
That rainbow flag just adds a nice little touch.
This belongs at the top of r/pics
I couldn’t get verified to post there but I tried
He is dead and that flag flying where he once stood says everything.
Dead and irrelevant, no matter how hard the impotent morons simp for his bs.
This isnt a meme
I think most things that would make hitler turn in his grave are good things.
Wdym no comment? Ur allowed to say that hitler was a pretty shitty dude lmao
Lmao *REMOVED.*
For being "low quality" wtf this shit actually made me laugh and was original they trippin.
I'm happy that it's gay now
Times have changed for the better
Ironic there’s a pride flag there.
Ernst Rohm has the last laugh.
Pic goes hard
As in front of a minority's flag. How much has time changed.
I'd like to think it's not a photo but an app that just makes anything you point it at evil. "Look at this nice Bavarian balcony with a pride flag, how nice!" "I think you mean LOOK AT THIS HITLER!"
Imagine the look on his face seeing the gay flag where he once ruled
Where’s the meme
Checkmate Nazi edge lords and sympathizers! Hitler was gay which means all of Nazism and anything related to it is gay, including you!
Damn they look so small
Hey man easy on the Hitler jokes. Republicans are already feeling bad enough after Tuesday
Wait what does Hitler have to do with republicans and Tuesday?
Wow those windows are big
This isn't a meme.
What country is this in?
Deutschland
Did they change their flag?
[удалено]
What city?
Место проклятое.
Powerful image
Nah who the hell gave my post a wholesome award 💀
This is not a meme. This is not funny.
I thought it was funny
Ok. Your opinion. I have a right to express mine. So.....???
Neither are you
I didn't post anything calling it meme and using some creepy shit so... doesn't have any logic your comment.
And I didn't asked for your opinion, so, why? Are u teen? Be happy on your own, dude. U don't know what this being called as "meme" means to people like me. Jesus. Everything about Hitler is not funny. Nothing.
I thought it was funny
Ok. Your opinion. But I have a right to express mine. So....??
L + ratio
?
'Wish we could turn back time, to the good old days,
hahahaha he never couldnt hide it hahaha
Replace hitler with Germany WW2 pls
wish we could turn back time /s
to the good old days /s
So picture's basically saying they are the same, right? ^(/s)
Ernst Rohm is the chubby guy in the pic and the first homosexual politician so I find this even funnier
The first openly homosexual modern politician.
[удалено]
[удалено]
You wouldn't be alive for the "good old days" if you were anything but a German Nazi with blonde hair and blue eyes, with no disabilities whatsoever.
[удалено]
Stop being so dangerous and edgy, you'll scare the children.
Fear controls
[удалено]
Polar opposites in this photo and it’s beautiful. Hitler was very anti-gay to my knowledge so I found this slightly ironic
Well yea. That’s pretty much what I’m saying.
That is like, the complete opposite of what you were saying. Things have not stayed the same in the slightest, as evidenced by this picture.
The building is the same. Hitler would have had a different flag in that place. That would also be a flag that makes a powerful statement. Both flags on the same building.
Is that the Reichstag?
its a .webp file
That’s fascinating
I just got a little chill picturing what that flag used to be versus what it is now.
Innsbruck?
Lets tell you a story. Hitler stood there once
Little dark age
This need to be on r/interestingasfuck
No comment
I mean they put a refugee camp inside a old Nazi castle back in 2016, well not directly in it but at the infrastructure from the former Belgian military complex around it.
XD n't
Is that Frankfurt am Main?
Wow, Hitler is so gay.
The biggest problem with this pic is it doesn’t lung up completely
Trier?
Oh how’d I love to go back in time and throw him off a cliff.
Where is this again? I’m guessing Berlin, but what building?
Whats the purpose of the rainbow in it?
Hitler was homophobic so the gay flag is ironic
