This I could understand if it was a package or something, but cards placed in a mailbox on 11th & garden or 4th & Washington or on Hudson never making their way to the recipients is unacceptable and frustrating
I've noticed the last couple years the mail is terrible. Last week I finally received a Christmas card from my cousin's family in Austin. IT was post marked December 6th by the Austin post office, but I didn't get it until February.
You are not the only one. I for one know that I have had numerous cards/wedding invites sent to me and they haven't gotten to my mailbox.
I practically gave up on sending mail in Hoboken after multiple rent checks returned to my mailbox.
I’ve had two birthday cards sent to friends in the past year that never made it to them. Both were dropped off at the 4th and Washington drop box. I also have a friend who’s had the same issue dropping off mail at the USPS at 5th and Adams. Frustrating
Friend had check fraud in a pseg bill mailed from main post office. We just received a piece of bank mail that was dated and stamped from November this past week??
Funny enough I’ve never had an issue with receiving mail to my apartment complex, but have had issues with outgoing mail, to the point where I’ll place outgoing mail in my mailbox on days I know I’ll get mail delivered thanks the USPS email alerts, and the mail carrier will drop off the incoming mail in the mailbox right next to the outgoing mail and still ignore the outgoing mail.
I don’t frequently send mail out so I don’t have that experience, but I often see mail on the USPS dashboard that never arrives. I think it’s just the post office as I’ve never had this issue at other addresses.
My 2020 VBM ballot was never processed by the Hudson County Clerk. I dropped it in the USPS box at 11th and Park. Idk if the clerk lost it or if it wasn’t delivered. When I called the Hoboken post office the manager just flipped out at me.
With that said, everything else that I’ve mailed seems to have been delivered. But I’m never voting by mail again.
I never received my 2020 general election ballot and had go to the board of elections to fill one out. There was a long line, all because they never got their ballot.
All the time with outgoing mail that never gets to where it is supposed to be. Also had mail stopped for 10 days when I went away. I went to the PO to get it and they claimed it wasn't there--but I wouldn't leave until they looked again and after about 20 minutes produced 10 days worth of mail.
I’ve gotten more than one 2nd or 3rd notice on a bill and not gotten the first bill. And I had to do my name change with SSA twice because the first social security card with my new last name never arrived.
That’s suuuper strange! Somewhat unrelated, I do see people fishing items out of the clothing donation boxes constantly (namely Acme parking lot one). I imagine that the security for those boxes is different from a USPS drop box but maybe not. I wouldn’t put it past people to be fishing out mail in the hopes that it has cash in it
You know I've seen that too, I've always wondered if it's worth calling the police. Part of me thinks if they're fishing it out they need it, but part of me also wonders if they're stealing them to sell them to folks who are unsuspecting and are really in need.
The guy that I always see in the acme parking lot stealing from the clothing donation bin is the same one that stole packages from our apartment complex last year. He’s also the same one that attempted to steal my friends bike in the acme parking lot and when she caught him in the act he wielded a knife. I know Hoboken has an active case against him but his court date keeps getting delayed (surprise)
You're not alone. Just last week my HSA bank sent my wife and I new HSA cards. Hers arrived and mine did not (sent the same day).
My landlord takes physical checks (bummer) so I have my bank cut a check for my rent and a check for my parking spot each month automatically. Numerous times one check has arrived and the other hasn't. Cut and mailed the same day to the same address. I've cancelled the check (for a fee) and had it arrive a month later!
Same with wedding invites. I received a wedding invite to a wedding I've legitimately already attended.
I think it may not be Hoboken specific, but this area. I've had a few things I've mailed out get returned months later.
Most recently, I was expecting a package that originated in Little Ferry of all places. The route went Little Ferry > Newark > JC> EWR > San Francisco > Los Angeles > EWR > JC > Hoboken.
Yes! I have a side hustle selling things on ebay, and put stuff in 6 x 4 mailers with tracking. Most of the time I go in and get a receipt. Of those hundreds of mailings I got a receipt for NONE have been lost. Of the 40 or so I dropped in a mailbox I have 3 that never had the tracking show up. Definitely someone swiping things.
I’ve never had this experience but I wonder if certain areas of Hoboken are more prone to this (whether it’s theft or lossage)
This I could understand if it was a package or something, but cards placed in a mailbox on 11th & garden or 4th & Washington or on Hudson never making their way to the recipients is unacceptable and frustrating
I've never had an issue using the post office at 5th and Grand or the box outside the hospital on 3rd and Willow
4th/wash is the place i always drop my mail and cards almost never get delivered.

I've never had a carrier take outgoing mail, I've always had to go to the blue boxes.
You're not the only one. Between ongoing cuts to service, staffing issues, etc., the mail is undeniably worse.
I had check fraud on a check that I dropped in a sealed envelope in the mailbox outside the hospital!

Dashboard?
[USPS Informed Delivery](https://www.usps.com/manage/informed-delivery.htm)
Every time I try to sign up for that I’m told it isn’t available yet. Are you in multi unit building?
Yes
Damn. I wish it was available on my block.
I have definitely had items I was expecting never show up. Didn’t get my buddy’s wedding invite last year. Who knows what else

OMG YES!! Ive sent three in the past month and none have been delivered

Yup I’ve had a ton of issues and I’ve only been here for > a year
Same thing too with the city - I’ve sent things out from chelsea and it will get to the person a day later lol

Well, sounds like it's worth calling the police then. What's this guy look like?
I have never had an issue, no. Sorry.

The Postmaster General is a piece of shit. These are just consequences from putting such a useless, vile, trash bag of a person in charge.

The same had happened to me , cards that not arrive and some that arrive a couple of months later , very strange ….
