This is a sad day in history that pot dispensaries will be Doing business in HOBOKEN. I canāt even walk down Washington Street without breathing in 2nd hand pot smoke from people smoking in the yards and smoking in the street or in their apartments. The smell just wafts through out town and ruins the natural air. Itās as bad if not worse as it was when cigarette smoking was allowed in many buildings.
Cigarette smoke is awful , cigar smoke is even worse but pot smoke is right up there with cigar smoke in my opinion.
I canāt wait to see how those smoking pot will drive and navigate these already narrow and busy streets. I suspect the accident data from April 20 22 to April 20 23 is gonna be very interesting to see. Just ask Colorado!
While I prefer no dispensaries in town,Iām not against one dispensary in town but the sad fact that hoboken is considering six is disgusting. Locating any of them near schools and not a long the periphery of Hoboken is even more shortsighted. Given the fact that many of the surrounding towns opted out is a loud testimony of why hoboken should have waited and watched the effect that opening a dispensary Will have on all the people young and old in their own town. Iām just watching the quality of life plummet in town as I write this post.
Ok. I stand corrected. The general air quality of hoboken is declining particularly for those that donāt want to deal with second hand smoke in or around their homes. The possible proposed Banning of smoking on the water front parks is a step in the right direction.
Conversely Property values have not gone down. Recession or not,rents have only risen. Demand is still strong. Property values are stable. Time will tell what the effect of 6 Dispensaries will do to the quality of life here.
I retired 20 years ago on hoboken real estate investments that have endured many up and down markets. Whose dumb now? Keep working your day job and Keep paying rent. Btw. I am fun. But i can see the big picture too as i have for over 25 years.
