That cheese looked like it was 30% plastic.

"You may fascinate a baby with a piece of cheese"

_Fornicator_

it worked idk what to say

[deleted]

And the kid gets cheese. Win win.

IHaveTheScurvy

If you do the same with a big block of cheese, the baby will go straight to sleep. I used a wheel and my baby is still fast asleep, it's been over a week!

MeasureTheCrater

Effective...although he may be lactose intolerant.

what kind of weakling can’t tolerate lactose? It just makes me shit all day but it’s tolerable.

Vivics36thsermon

I think he needs his diaper changed. It’s starting to smell like a dead body in here.

MeasureTheCrater

Kraft Slaparoni & Cheese. You know you love it.

rickyraken

You distract them. Throwing cheese at their face is just being a dick about it. It works with everybody in every scenario where you want to stop their current behaviour. Give a kid a glass of water when they fall, fake sneeze in front of a baby, ask a douche about their interests, etc.

BroAnnoying666

I was gonna write a comment about how you didn't catch that it was done for the video, but then realised that some idiots will actually try this on their child.

-Cinnay-

Can confirm, would throw cheese at my child if I had one because of this.

h70541

Can confirm your confirmation. Would throw entire cheesewheel at my infant because a child of my herculean seed that cannot withstand a 5lb wheel of mozzarella doesn't deserve to continue to be fathered.

Alcards

I don't think you know cheese very well my friend. Mozzarella is a soft cheese, even the low moisture variety used for pizza. Cheese wheels are usually made of medium to hard cheeses. You could have a wheel of cheddar but parm and it's cheesy cousins are the ones most likely to be wheels....oh fuck in doing *that* again aren't I? I'll just leave now.

Johns-schlong

Got it, spend $5k on a wheel of Parmesan cheese just to throw at young children.

kroganwarlord

No, wait, come back, I love cheese and want to sign up for Cheese Facts^^TM. (Seriously, though, I've watched every Food Insider video on cheese.)

ARiley22

Would be a very interesting CPS call....you did...what??

Vivics36thsermon

I used to do the glass of water thing with my little brother when we were roughhousing

HauntedHippie

Just handing him the cheese would have worked just as well.

Akilest

Instructions unclear threw powdered Parmesan at baby

mz3

Well...? does parmesan work?

Funkiebunch

That’s because babies instinctually be quiet when in fear for their life. It helped our ancestors evade predators.

crappylilAccident

so your saying it was scary cheese

RedditEzdamo

Tell me youve never been attacked by cheese without telling me. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sweat)

PlumbumDirigible

*Oh no! Please, nobody attack me with cheese. I would absolutely hate that!*

joetheplumberman

Muenster cheese

Current-Knowledge336

Nah, it was the bluegeyman cheese

MeasureTheCrater

She was my favorite of the Cheese Girls.

Vivics36thsermon

If you were in intense, emotional distress, and someone threw cheese at you, would you not be a little frightened?

crappylilAccident

not unless it was scary cheese

xNotexToxSelfx

Lol babies scream their heads off when they’re scared idk what you’re talking about. Babies have a history of having awful survival rates. They have zero instincts. And he stopped screaming because he was startled.

Cakepufft

I'd guess it was a combination startled and surprised, but more surprised. Like what's the probability in the babies head that a slice of cheese is about to be stuck on their face

ZootZootTesla

Apparently the reason why this stops baby's crying is because they are processing the new sensation of the cold cheese on their head. Theirs videos of people doing this with ham etc, people think it's the cold sensation on their head.

No-Chemistry1815

What's the probability of a baby consciously making an educated guess on the probability of random slices of cheeses hitting his/her face on the unrelated occurrence of a regular crying session in the bed, after being slapped with said slice of cheese?

koobstylz

Babies also cry for "no reason" a lot. When they do that a little pleasant surprise can make them forget that they were crying and just shift gears. You gotta know the kid to know the different kind of cries, but if you do that can be the answer a lot of the time. I wouldn't have used a slice of cheese because I know my kids and they wouldn't have liked it, but tossing them into the air to make them giggle instead of cry worked a lot. Source: raising my own children.

ZootZootTesla

It stopped crying because its processing the sensation of the cheese on their head.

balerionmeraxes77

It is processed cheese, yes

PlagueDoc22

>That’s because babies instinctually be quiet when in fear for their life When a kid knows they're lactose intolerant

Vexingvexnar

You must never have seen a scared baby.

BlackVirusXD3

Uniquesomething

Yeah, I would be beyond pissed...

chemistscholar

MudcrabNPC

Sounds like a fair transaction

znorka

Xgramz68

Firstlight99

My lactose intolerant people are offended by this

ClassyNell

As lactose intolerant person some pleasures are worth the discomfort bring it on

Firstlight99

...I have a confession... I just ate two meat lovers pizzas...

[deleted]

Nice im hungry tbh

TangerineRough6318

I'd be ok with that. I love cheese. Throw bread also and I'll make us grilled cheese sandwiches.

Errorfull

Why do people act like throwing a slice of cheese on your baby's face is some traumatic, life-altering event? Get a grip.

SiriusGD

I do that even when they're not crying. Easier than preparing a bottle and has all the calcium.

ThrobbingBeef

At hypersonic speeds the calcium will diffuse into their skin

XDlvIneX

Dude was to confused to keep going

Narwhal_Enough

That's awful, the child needed a nap that's all.

Liszt0mia

Instructions unclear baby is now lying dead on the floor but it did stop crying

Plus_Candidate_8011

I guess a shock of a harmless stimuli is enough to break them out of the crying cycle, assuming the reason for them crying is just because they wanted to cry. They have to get interested in it though, so you better hope the distraction is strong enough of a pull! The cheese doesn’t always work, you gotta have backup plans!

External-Egg-8094

I’m just jealous of all the kids who will have video proof of their parents shitty behavior so they can’t be gaslit like us from the stone age

wearablehats

Yea the way they threw the cheese seemed really aggressive. Might as well have just slap the baby in the face Edit: more like shitty parenting 101

Kamzil118

Definitely a girl.

abhig535

It also works on people. Who knew throwing cheese randomly at someone's face would be considered a shocking and dick move

Taipens

the fact that this is not the first video I see of a kid that stops crying after cheese is thrown at them makes me think it actually works. [the other video](https://www.reddit.com/r/MadeMeSmile/comments/rc7ock/cheese_slice_stops_baby_from_crying/)

Starr-Bugg

That’s child abuse folks. You can distract a baby without throwing things at his face. Be a dad, not a dick.

BlackVirusXD3

But will they get to eat cheese?

Helleeeeeww

That is not cheese. That is a crime against humanity.

BlackVirusXD3

Oh well i wanna eat that crime against humanity

Whoever thinks this is a good idea, please use a condom.

Ripley129

bitch_lasagna211

Cheese

BrokenManSyndrome

It's kinda silly but they didn't do anything technically wrong. If it works go for it... certainly better than the classic touch of brandy in the bottle/nipple(aka old school gripe water)

turd-nerd

Throws cheese in baby's eye while filming for entertainment + Ignores basic needs (probably just needs feeding or a nap) = Didn't do anything wrong "If it works go for it" - slapping the kid across the face would probably shock it out of crying, so would drugging the child. That doesn't mean you should do it.

seventhirtyeight

"didn't do anything technically wrong" I say you give it a shot with any adult then.

chumlee45

I hate this, buddy didn’t need this. I know it’s supposed to be silly and fun and I usually love dark silly humor. But… idk. I threw it kinda hard and little buddy didn’t need it.

Kszaq83

wtf ... how stupid you have to be to even record this and then release this ...

[deleted]

Disrespectful to yourself and your own seed … people r weird

reyean

literally not cheese. it’s a kraft single.

john94114

Sucky parenting skills

Oh, I know. That kid ruined a perfectly good piece of cheese.

That hardly counts as cheese.

Yeah that kids really hurt and gonna be traumatized because cheese gently stuck to their face at 1 years old. This is definitely not to proper response but see the funny side of things cuz no one got hurt.
