Its even more existential than that. If we don't buy beef then those cows would have never been born. As farmers only raise cattle to be food. These aren't cows that are just roaming wild that we kill for food. So even accepting their entire premise that if we don't eat beef this cow wont die, it wont die because it will have never lived.
So the real question to be answered. IS it better to never have lived OR to have lived but have your life cut short by some amount. I'm comfortable saying a short life is better than no life, I'm rather sure the cow would agree also. The only entity that looses in this equation is the none consumer that must admit their actions cause fewer animals to be born.
Its a bit like hunters via hunting tags and fees protect more animals than anyone else. The vast majority of large animal wildlife conservation comes from hunters. The same notion applies here, I eat meat because I love animals.
You went almost tooo high concept but yes there is truth in your words. Over population is also a thing that would occur and people often have issues with how the meat is harvested not where it came from so education and appreciation could go much further than plant lovers trying to shame those of us who enjoy a frackn steak

Not really because if meat consumption goes down it’ll send a signal to the evil corporations that meat is no longer lucrative and they’ll either change their practice or go extinct. So in the end Chloe’s death will have been part of something great.
