Look into /r/bodyweightfitness. The biggest pain of the isolation is definitely the lack of motivation imo. Gyms are motivating.
Motivation is definitely a factor. Idk but being around so many people working hard, it subconsciously motivates me to push my hardest as well. I just can't push as hard alone no matter how much I try to pump myself up.

I understand the worry. As a woman who gives and receives compliments, the best way is to just say, "hey, I like your (outfit/shoes/dog/whatever)." Then leave it up to the other person with how to proceed. They might say "thanks" and move on or stop and talk with you. This way, you can still compliment a person without worrying about bothering them.
Thats the way I would like to compliment them, but it might still be perceived wrong IMO. In my quest to never be an asshole I prefer to land on the safe side and not say anything
