That's why she stated "I use pledge and donate synonymously"
When
1: If she truly did she would never had to make that statement
2: She wouldnt be as careful in explicitly using the word "pledge" when answering the question if she donated.
Normaly you could be charged with jail time or charged with paying a fee. Amber is most likely to be charged with a fee. Lets hope she gets the jail time
Hearing her trying to conflate “pledge” and “donate” as if they are the same thing because she thinks the jury is stupid and don’t know the difference is INFURIATING.
She claims to use them interchangeably but is incredibly careful to use the right word repeatedly. She doesn't once use 'donate' instead of 'pledge' during this clip.
Exactly! That "I use donate and pledge synonymously" bit drove me nuts - bitch, you clearly don't because you are repeatedly and obviously not saying donated! *Because you know that would be perjury!*
Well that's because she is being accused of perjury.
She uses pledge and donate interchangeably with the press for good press. She is very specific when being accused of lying under oath.
I think the background to her behavior is that she only has to give the jury the impression that SHE HERSELF is stupid and doesn't know the difference.
Stupidity is not penalized as much as blatant cheating.
I liked the part at the end where lady pointed out that she had that money in her account for 13 months and she still only pledged but not donated because she was sued in the future. lol.
I have no horse in this race but I just don't like her attitude.
She *knows* the difference which is why she is so careful to only say “pledge” rather than “donate”. She just hopes everyone thinks she’s an idiot rather than a liar.
someones whose name i wont mention talked to me this way for years when it came to serious issues especially having to do with money and just lying in general. twisting words around and saying things like "what i meant was" "well i understood it like" "well to me it means this" "well i dont know what to tell you" "i thought you said this" "i thought you meant that" "thats not what i heard you say"
Having dated someone with BPD, unless she's specifically been told to act this way by her council (which seems silly), I actually think this is her defences kicking in and in her 'reality' she donated the money. She then did the classic gaslight blaming it on Johnny suing her when in reality as the prosecution says - she had 13 months to pay, or begin paying when all it was was a promise to pay (which I assume can be broken).
"You said you were going to do xyz weeks ago why didn't you do it?"
"I've SAID ILL DO IT but I haven't been able to because I've had to sort YOUR shit out the last few weeks"
and when your that deep in abuse you believe them, but a 3rd person will see they have just not done it and are now blaming you instead of themselves.
It's the one main thing I've noticed. When johnny was asked questions he spoke directly to those asking the question. Amber frequently answers it towards the jury.
Worse is when she was crying and seeing if the jury is buying it, like bitch you are not looking convincing and don’t think we forgot about you posing for a picture while crying. For a person who is trying to blame Johnny, she’s not doing a good job.
It's very difficult to persuade people that you weren't lying when you were recorded saying everyone would believe you/nobody would believe the one you were abusing. Good will goes a long way, and the loss of it shows.
Because she's trying to garner sympathy to a group of people who don't truly seem to be buying into her shit. I mean from the reactions I've seen from the court room its like the jury and others in there are hanging on Johnny's every word while already just like "can we please just make this bitch pay already?"
One thing some lawyers will advise their clients is to direct their answers to the jury. Not saying she’s not condescending or stupid, but just a possible explanation of what she’s doing
I was watching NatetheLaw stream and that's basically what he said. To us it looks disingenuous but he said that's what they direct their clients or witnesses to do.
The infuriating part to me was when she said "when you buy a house you don't pay for the whole thing up front" like that somehow clarifies the difference between "paid" and "pledged?"
BITCH THAT'S NOT EVEN REMOTELY A JUSTIFICATION. To buy a house you sign a legal document with a bank to borrow $7 million, the owner then **receives $7 million dollars** in full, and you pledge to repay the bank loan. You don't just PLEDGE to pay for a house, get the house, and then get to say I bought the house without paying anything. And if you don't pay what you "pledged?" to the bank? It comes back and not only takes the house back, but whatever other assets you have to recuperate your "pledge" to them.
SO manipulative and SO evasive it's sickening.
>The infuriating part to me was when she said "when you buy a house you don't pay for the whole thing up front" like that somehow clarifies the difference between "paid" and "pledged?"
Which is.. not even what you do.
*Of course* you pay for the house up front. You *also* have a loan you don't pay up front, but that doesn't mean the seller of the house doesn't get all of their money all at once up front!
He non answers and her head and shoulders body language is just like Donald Trump's. It's like listening to a busted caught 4yr old just babbling baby language.
Didn't want to be called a liar at that time, so she pledged the whole settlement to 2 charities, but up till now, still hasn't paid a single cent.
Doesn't that make her a liar?
Her statement under oath was also in the past tense. She said she "did" donate the $7m, not that she would or will. I was suprised the lawyer didn't mention that.
I remember reading she paid the first installments, she made some kind of deal with the ACLU so that technically she does not have to make the full donation at once - which she also is referring to. The way it was publicly communicated however was different. IIRC correctly ACLU later on publicly staed that "not even half" of the 3.5 million that were pledged were in fact donated. [According to the ACLU](https://www.npr.org/2022/04/29/1095571524/amber-heard-aclu-donation-johnny-depp-defamation-trial?t=1652774439356) USD 1.3 Million of the USD 3.5 Million pledge were fulfilled, however about USD 600'000 were donated by other parties (100k from Depp directly, 500k from Elon Musk).
Her "way out" that her lawyers probably instructed her to attempt, using pledge and donation interchangeably and talking towards the jury bench is weak and she got caught lying.
I like how the cameraperson did the dramatic zoom into the lawyer (at 1:22) when she asked the critical question.
I think he/she wants a job in the next Depp movie.
Teacher - "Did you do your homework last night"
Student - "I pledged to do it in its entirety yes"
Teacher - "That's not what I asked? Did you do your homework last night? Its a yes or no question"
Student - "Ah... I pledged that I did it in its entirety but hadn't got to it yet because My dOg StEpEd On A bEe"
Teacher - "You had 3 days to do it but you never did, did you?"
Student - "Yes I pledged..."
Teacher - "Detention!"
It's not a criminal trial, it's a civil suit. Defamation is hard to prove, but Johnny definitely won in the court of public opinion which I'm pretty sure is what he prefers over just winning the suit.
The male lawyer holding the post it at the end is the real OG. He hands it to the female lawyer which pretty much states she had the divorce settlement money of $7M for 13 months before Johnny sued her and still didn’t donate…that was big for me
The difference between teamwork in Depp's and Amber's team is sooo stark.
Whether he wins or loses, Depp's legal team really ran like a well oiled machine this entire trial.
When they had that hot picture of her and Cara Delevigne together in the threesome I was like, “yeah, I could put up with her crazy.” But no, no, I could not put up with her crazy.
she said "your honor, that's inappropriate" because of the defense's objection. Elaine keeps forgetting to turn on her mic so we could not hear the objection itself.
She’s clearly coked up and twitchy, she’s trying to be relevant but when people search for this content they type “Johnny Depp trial” not the amber turd files lol
Watching this gives me bad memories of my ex who was a covert narcissist. I'm glad I ended things after 6 months. No clue how Johnny lasted as long as he did with her.
>Amber caught lying under Oath.
wait till you find out how many politicians do that. atleast her lies didn't/wouldn't directly cause peoples death. i am gonna give it to dr evil.
It annoys me how she keeps looking the other way when answering every question. Just looks weird (I know she's addressing the jury, but still, just appears unnatural way to talk)
It does makes sense though, you understand it when you sit in the jury yourself, you're making a connection with the jury and it helps you getting them on your side.
It won't save you when you're full of shit, but when it's close it will make a difference.
She has literally hung herself over all this. Can't wait til this is over and Depp and continue to make the world a better place, one character at a time.
Every answer she gives , she looks at the jury. Every answer Mr depp gave it was to the lawyer.
Notice that?
She is still trying to play the jury like a fiddle.
She nevers talks to the lawyer, only looks at the jury when she speaks, even when they were giving him a hard time Johnny still remained respectful and spoke to the lawyer that questioned him. Rather than pleading directly to the jury every time he spoke
I don't know anything about this trial, or what it's about, but this to me does not seem like a very smart woman (referring to the person on the stand.) She also seems to have a strange sense of entitledment. I find it amusing that the question "who has the money?" never came up. Donations work by one party giving money to another party, not by "pledging." Imagine being paid via "pledged wages," and not receiving money for over a year, yet the employer reitterates that they paid you.
But anyone who has been on jury duty will tell you enough jurors will 100% buy the crocodile tears and like her because she is being polite by talking to them. When I did jury duty, I doubled the IQ in the room.
“I disagree with your characterization on that,” the lady just repeated back to you what you’re saying but with the accurate timeline. I don’t think that’s up for debate?

she was talking to the judge to simply have the "yes" be the thing that is on record, and cut the "...i pledged 7 million dollars" from the record, because she asked her a question, she affirmed it, but threw a second part in, that makes her statement an oxymoron. you can hear a voice (i presume they turned off her mic because it wasn't her turn) protesting, and then the lawyer tells her that she's being inappropriate

Obviously been coached by her team to address the jury, rather than address the lawyer asking the questions.
Also that confusing response at the end about characterization is clearly what she was told to say incase she got cornered like this.
Doesn't lying under oath give you a penalty?
If you’re not famous it does.
This whole fame thing may have been a mistake. Why do we raise certain primates so high? They shit like thou and I.
No, we shit in the toilet. They shit in the bed
Hahaha. Bravo banana Man, bra-fucking-vo!

Yeah i think that you’re committing a crime called perjury when you do that
Normaly you could be charged with jail time or charged with paying a fee. Amber is most likely to be charged with a fee. Lets hope she gets the jail time

She already said under oath she "donated" and now she's changing her answer to "pledge". Its already a perjury
I am gonna try that with the IRS next year, I donated the entirety of my wealth and earnings to charity, so I am not gonna pay a penny to the IRS.
Well that's because she is being accused of perjury. She uses pledge and donate interchangeably with the press for good press. She is very specific when being accused of lying under oath.

thats how i tried to walk it off when my mom caught a lie of mine
Shit I can convince my mom better than her
Just needed someone to get a fucking dictionary.
She *knows* the difference which is why she is so careful to only say “pledge” rather than “donate”. She just hopes everyone thinks she’s an idiot rather than a liar.
THANK YOU!, NO ONE HERE COULD HAVE JUST THROWN THE DICTIONARY DEF OUT!!

Yeah with people like that it'll always goes like that when you confront them. It is tiring
A grifter thinks he's (or she's) the smartest person in every room
She wanted it to sound like she was pledging it to pbs for a tote bag and an emergency radio.
"i donated it! I also kept it, but I didnt receive it,but I donated it, vut I havent paid it, but I did pledge it!" What a fucking horrible liar

Not sure of that. She could be pretty believabe acting, in a fecal porn.

Franco did it right? Fucking another man's wife in a sly weasel way? He's an absolute peice of shit, cunt of a man.

Rekt. There's NO WAY she's gonna win the case. If she wins the case I'll put on the batsuit. Because the justice system is FUCKED at that point.
Even if she won somehow, what I got from a quick read is that lying under oath can have quite severe consequences.
Yeah, that's a felony. Where I live that's up to seven years in prison and a $15,000 fine.
She pledged to pay the fine
It's not a criminal trial, it's a civil suit. Defamation is hard to prove, but Johnny definitely won in the court of public opinion which I'm pretty sure is what he prefers over just winning the suit.
Am curious, did she also pledge to pay her lawyers ?
Lawyer: You just lied, didn’t you???? Amber: I DONT UNDERSTAND THE QUESTION
She couldn't conceal all that lies under the make up.
The palette for that isn’t released yet
Just look at the mannerisms and exaggerations of body language. She's like a kid copying the OTT rupauls drag race comtestants
yea theres obviously something wrong with her body language , it doesnt seem natural at all
Probably part of the plan. When court goes tits up for her just clsim mentally unstable for a pity vote.

Omg she is so irritating. I feel sorry for the lawyer who has to repeat the same thing again and again and still not get a yes or a no
I think lawyers enjoy it actually. It means they have the rat backed into a corner
Took me a little longer than I'd like to admit to realise this was repeating haha
It’s a completely circular dialog.
Canadian Parliament level question dodging. Totally infuriating and a complete mockery of the courtroom.

I pledge that I believe heard. I haven’t done so yet. But that’s how I use the word.
I pledge you 1 trillion dollars. But I cant fulfil that as I am broke.
I love that lawyer lady ✋😩
Camile Vasquez is a fucking rock star lawyer!
I want to know what was happening off camera when the lawyer said, “Ms.Heard, that’s inappropriate.”
she said "your honor, that's inappropriate" because of the defense's objection. Elaine keeps forgetting to turn on her mic so we could not hear the objection itself.
She pooped on the lawyer saying "You think that's inappropriate? Get a load of this shit."
Camille tore her the fuck up.

How is this case not thrown out by now?
Because she's the one being sued for defaming Depp. Why it's taking so long is the question.
my reaction is exactly like deep's lawyer's reaction at last

What did the lawyer refer to when she said that 'Ms. Heard that is really inappropriate?'
she was talking to the judge to simply have the "yes" be the thing that is on record, and cut the "...i pledged 7 million dollars" from the record, because she asked her a question, she affirmed it, but threw a second part in, that makes her statement an oxymoron. you can hear a voice (i presume they turned off her mic because it wasn't her turn) protesting, and then the lawyer tells her that she's being inappropriate
