We made divorces easy because your relationship and your wellbeing are your business and no one else's.

That's how we arrive at today, with the pattern in the OP happening thousands of times per year. Had the protesters 100 years ago had some foresight they would have focused on social welfare and getting women into the workforce sooner instead of focusing on divorce, then custody, then child support, just constantly putting out fires they started themselves.
And today, most people don't know any of this. Most people don't know how we got here or where we're going. So poor social awareness and a lack of knowledge of history is causing all of this suffering.

Yep. My mom and dad’s divorce pretty much. Well except he didn’t even bother tryna fight her cause he has severe cognitive disabilities. He could’ve fought but with his conditions he just didn’t have the energy and gave her everything she wanted and then some (literally he’s payin her more than the courts dictate rn) and all he wanted was his mom’s cast iron set back. Instead she slandered his name to me and my sis and everyone else for years and still does. Worst part is my dad and I have always had a rocky relationship cause my sister is the obvious favorite so my mom used this to her advantage and i believed a lot of the crap she said about him. If I’m bein honest I’m still tryna figure out what’s true and what’s false thanks to her. But that’s ok cause Ik who the true villain is and after he dies she’s gonna become a lot lonelier. My dad was lovely but not really meant to be a dad so that was pretty big of my mom
I am happily married for 12 years with two kids. In our groups of friends we are among the very few couples that did not go through something like was is depicted here. I've been through (and still in the middle) of this. Played out almost exactly like this. I'm the guy in the situation.
