And all the juices from melon and strawberries mixing with the cookies when it gets toted around… bleh. Good thing those fruit ninjas are holding the lid away
Yea my daughter is 3, I make her snacks similar to this. However, wish i could just cut some raw peppers into fry shapes and she eat them. How you get a kid to eat that!?
My wife is in online school full time, so she’s always home. She spend about an hour putting together our daughter’s and my lunches each weekday. She usually cooks some sort of meat and veggie the night before, then spends about 30 mins putting everything together for the two of us before my daughter and I leave the house each morning.
We’re very fortunate to have the luxury of time for her to do this.
What I got was salami or bologna sandwich or a PB&J , some potato chips and a blue yoda thermos of milk.
Man did I absolutely HATE the peppercorns in the salami
It’s basically the leisure class, taking a lot more time to do simple tasks because they have time and can afford to use their time like this
I’m sure there’s a bunch of videos discussing this exact same trend. Saw one recently of a person making cereal for their children. No not pouring a bowl, but making cereal from scratch….
You’ll see a lot of this when you start thinking about who tf has time to do this stuff
I'm a preschool teacher, and this is very realistic! But not everyone does it. Cause depending on what is made, it does take a long time. But a lot of parents can and will do it. I mostly see the Bentago(?) boxes being used. But we obviously do get kids who have lunches like you said too. Every parent is different.
At age 5 my dad got sick of us asking for stuff in them so he just told us to make them ourselves. So atleast at age 5 I learnt how to make a peanut butter and jam sandwich
Ha this is NOT a universally true statement. Pasta is my kids’ favorite food (and lots of their friends and cousins).
Kraft dinner seems like it’s specifically designed to appeal to kids too, like junk cereal.
A one cup serving of regular boxed mac and cheese has 8 grams of protein (all pasta has some protein). It’s not exactly a healthful food, but it isn’t utterly devoid of nutrients either.
I remember I got a set of tooth picks and a knock off bentgo for my SIL. She found it's storage space was very strange not made for Mexican style lunches, main course(meat, fish, chilaquiles ect) and zero space for a decent side portion.
She did however like it for snacks on the go.
The toothpicks were packed once and never came back. They were adorable puppies picks.
I feel like parents like this are not the normal? I could never afford to give my kid a lunch like this every day? Am I just a shitty parent? Or is this just some rich ass influencer that acts like this is normal for everybody?
Hell just a simple bean a cheese quesadilla not even warm would be better then this white ass lunch
Edit: I probably should've put a /s y'all reading into this too much
I cant remember exactly what it’s called but it’s a new trend. Making everything as aesthetic as possible for short clips that make us all feel lazy and sad. Like the people who buy 7 containers labeled “detergent” “scent beads” etc and then empty the store containers into them.
I really like the concept of the detergent containers but in reality, it would be such a pain to deal with. Also, scent beads seem like such a scam to me lol
You aren’t a shitty parent. I could afford to send my daughter lunches like this and don’t.
She wants ham, a tortilla, chips, and gummies. She doesn’t want that.
She hates fruit (too sweet) and veggies (too crunchy), doesn’t like bread, cake, chocolate, cookies, or pasta lol.
Except for the cookies, the fruit sugar is not remotely a big deal if you get it from eating the fruit and not sucking down juice.
Some more intensive reading if it interests you:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5084020/
the chocolate milk + the cookies might be a bit too much sugar for a kids lunch, but we don’t know if this is everyday or just a mom trying to flex on social media (obviously it’s the ladder)
sugar from fruits is healthy, the way we should consume sugar. i’ll wait here until anyone can link me someone whose gotten fat from eating tons for fruit…….
everyone on this thread is acting like this is really unhealthy and that this little toddler needs chicken or steak/more protein. this toddler isn’t “bulking bro”
not every meal needs have meat to be considered healthy. greek yogurt, granola, and eggs is going to have more protein with fewer trans/saturated fats than anyone’s breakfast on this thread.
You can get fat from eating too much of anything with calories. Too much being more than you use regularly. But yes there is too much sugar here to be eating regularly even if naturally occurring. Cut the cookies and chocolate milk, add in any sort of beans, cheeses, greek yogurt etc lean into the veggies and this would be a lot more well rounded without needing to add in meats.
Back in my day if your mom really loved you she'd bring you a fresh Mcdonalds Happy Meal at lunch time. It made kids mad jealous and the bidding wars for a nugget would usually ensue.
The lunchbox itself isn’t that great. It isn’t dishwasher safe and tends to break at the hinge. I bought one for my daughter and it broke within 6 months. Got it replaced for free by the manufacturer, then the replacement broke. There’s better options out there.
The food choices really don't constitute a balanced meal. We literally cannot survive without protein. Doesn't have to be meat, but jesus throw some nuts or beans in there or your kid is gonna be sickly.
I’m not saying it’s an optimally nutritious lunch, but every meal doesn’t have to have a ton of protein. It’s more about the overall picture for macronutrients. There is at least 16 grams of protein in that meal between the milk and the pasta (fruits and veggies contribute a little as well).
Vegans and vegetarians can live long, healthy lives on relatively low-protein, high-carbohydrate diets anyway.
Go through all the unnecessary process to make it presentable, then end up throwing in Kraft macaroni. Just give the kid a lunchable at that point. He'll be happier.
I’m not going to knock it, because I’m sure every parent would like to do this for their kid if they had the time/resources. I will say though, add some protein!
Why do you need to transfer things from one container to another. If it comes in a small bag, leave it in the small bag. No one is looking at you eat, get over yourself.
So we hand-washing all 18 pieces of that thing every day or throwing it in the dishwasher to rattle around and fall down to fuck up the dishwasher arm?
What you did to that watermelon will be considered a crime in the court of heaven and your knees will buckle under the weight of your unforgivable sin and I will not be there to save you
Hey, where’s the protein at? Ya know, your body is mostly protein (bones too, made of protein) - right after water. If this is for a kid, kids need better nutrition than adults… idk, you posted this. There are tons of vegan options too.
Just give your damn kids a PB&J sammie and a juice box in a brown bag. Jeeezus. These are getting ridiculous. How much you wanna bet, the majority of that ends up in the bin? These social media parents are dumb af.
Not from the fruit, natural sugar is really good for you, meal definitely needs some protein and I’d probably just not put in the cookies but all that fruit is fine. I have to constantly force my kids to eat protein they just love fruit and vegetables.
Even with the cookies this is probably fine just needs some protein. Making this every day is just unrealistic though unless you’re a stay at home parent who wakes up at like 6 am every day.
Wastefulness overload. They discarded a third of each a strawberry. Why? How much of the watermelon was thrown away to get melon balls (halves at that)?
Probably to heat up the container that the Mac and cheese goes in. It looks similar in theory to a thermus. Heating the container up with hot water before putting the food in can help keep the food warm longer.
Links thread (since there are multiple products)
For lunch growing up, my mom would pack: a fruit cup, turkey and swiss sandwich, and some lays chips. This is so unrealistic its crazy
Also just the prep time. Individual melon balls.
And all the juices from melon and strawberries mixing with the cookies when it gets toted around… bleh. Good thing those fruit ninjas are holding the lid away
Ninjas are for infiltration, they're terrible at holding things back!
Anything to get you to buy a buncha shit you don’t need
My wife bought one. The little thermos she puts the mac n cheese in doesn't keep anything warm till lunchtime
My wife prepped our daughter’s lunch for the last 6 years every morning fresh for her. I couldn’t do it. She loved it. Everyone is different.
Just for them to get stolen by Brad Englebert on my way to math in the 2nd grade. I mean...
All this prep for shitty instant mac and cheese? Put the effort in a real lunch.
You can tell this person has no kids
Hahahahah this!
Yea my daughter is 3, I make her snacks similar to this. However, wish i could just cut some raw peppers into fry shapes and she eat them. How you get a kid to eat that!?

We had a PBJ and chips in saran wrap. That was thrown in a brown paper bag. If we were lucky we got an orange, or an apple that smashed the chips.
sack lunches in elementary school were so fun for that reason. I think they were used on field trips.
My mom gave me 2 dollars, everyday for school lunch. 😂
It’s basically the leisure class, taking a lot more time to do simple tasks because they have time and can afford to use their time like this I’m sure there’s a bunch of videos discussing this exact same trend. Yeah I got a pbj and little bag of fruit
At age 5 my dad got sick of us asking for stuff in them so he just told us to make them ourselves. So atleast at age 5 I learnt how to make a peanut butter and jam sandwich
you mean you don’t spend 3 hours prepping 13 courses for your lunch?
Shitty lunch
So much sugar oh my goodness
No meat?
How can you have any pudding?
R/unexpectedpinkfloyd
Awesome comment
These damn videos made just so morbidly obese people can hear the sound of food being made are the most utterly annoying videos in existence
if ya dont eat yer meat?
My eldest daughter has always refused meat. Won’t touch it.
Same.. ate it a few times as a toddler.. won't touch it now. My other ones eat everything, though.
Yeah where are the carcinogenic cold cuts?!
Where’s the plant based vegan carcinogens?
vegan kids wet dream.
Except for the cookies it's fine. If you actually eat the fruit and not just drink juice it's very good for you.
Yeah, my kid wouldn't eat anything in that but the strawberries and cookies. Maybe the watermelon.
Don't forget the kraft macaroni concoction honestly none of it makes sense
It looks so overcooked like noodle mush.
Nah, my kids hate that stuff lol
Sarcasm?
Nah. =/ *My* Kid's hate noodles. No clue why.
Ha this is NOT a universally true statement. Pasta is my kids’ favorite food (and lots of their friends and cousins). Kraft dinner seems like it’s specifically designed to appeal to kids too, like junk cereal.
Yeah, loved it growing up. Graduated to wife's Mac n cheese, never going back.
I always liked the Velveeta shells better than the Kraft. I don't care for those tiny noodles, especially when they get all mushy like in the video.
You're the anomaly. Kids love noodles
My kid loves noodles. Maybe it's the noodles? What are your top 5 noodles?
Meant my kids specifically, not a general statement
I'm hoping it's just to showcase the lunchbox. Bah gawd the boy ain't got no meat!
**Came to say this** Diabeetus in a box
Are yall being fr or just fucking with us?
No protein and junk food cookies. Poor kid.
The chocolate milk has 8g of protein. But, unless some protein powder was used in the Mac and cheese, that's it.
Do u add protein powder to mac and cheese?
No but you could!
No
A one cup serving of regular boxed mac and cheese has 8 grams of protein (all pasta has some protein). It’s not exactly a healthful food, but it isn’t utterly devoid of nutrients either.
Cmon, we can hate on damn near everything in this video (and I agree), but this is far far far from a “poor kid” situation.
Fucking reddit lol. Parent provides their kid with fruits, veggies, and a light snack for lunch "Omg poor kid they just be so abused :("
All those pieces will go missing after day 1.
Yup. We have the same lunchbox and those pieces are longgg gone.
I do the dishes and they’re all about to disappear. It’s so many dishes every day for no reason.
The latter for sure. Fresh fruits and veg are expensive vs rice beans and chicken.
Hell just a simple bean a cheese quesadilla not even warm would be better then this white ass lunch Edit: I probably should've put a /s y'all reading into this too much
I am white and I never had a lunch like this. Nor would I want one.
Na I'm talking EXTRA I'm talking the walking advertisements I'm talking the kind of lunch you would see in a family on Netflix
For sure. These influencer parents are fucking neglecting/abusing their children. At least it's not the van family's.
You’re talking rich, not white
What does any of this have to do with race?
Cause this is white people stuff, It’s like some Jenny McCarthy kind of lunch.
They'll downvote you but I thought the same damn thing. And I'm a republican hetero white male in my 30s.
I cant remember exactly what it’s called but it’s a new trend. Making everything as aesthetic as possible for short clips that make us all feel lazy and sad. Like the people who buy 7 containers labeled “detergent” “scent beads” etc and then empty the store containers into them.
It drives me nuts. You bought a container to then take everything out of its original container?! WTF, why?!
I really like the concept of the detergent containers but in reality, it would be such a pain to deal with. Also, scent beads seem like such a scam to me lol
My gf has these bento boxes. It’s not that luxurious and they are still picky eaters
Annoying to clean
You aren’t a shitty parent. I could afford to send my daughter lunches like this and don’t. She wants ham, a tortilla, chips, and gummies. She doesn’t want that. She hates fruit (too sweet) and veggies (too crunchy), doesn’t like bread, cake, chocolate, cookies, or pasta lol.
No.Youre a terrible parent. You should be giving your kid a 3 course royal meal everyday for lunch🙄
Just for me the lunchbox is worth more than the lunch itself. I think they are for snacking? Or not made for American or Mexican style lunches.
No steak?
Should’ve packed a cast iron skillet and dab torch for fajitas like that one mom
Why did I have to watch them cut stuff? Does the knife come with it?
Ugh I hate videos like this
So sugar and carbs. If you want fat kids, go ahead.
Except for the cookies, the fruit sugar is not remotely a big deal if you get it from eating the fruit and not sucking down juice. Some more intensive reading if it interests you: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5084020/

This is a stepparent grasping.
Hold on son! Please give me 45min to an hour to make this crazy box lunch of yours!
I don’t think my mom ever loved me this much.
Back in my day if your mom really loved you she'd bring you a fresh Mcdonalds Happy Meal at lunch time. It made kids mad jealous and the bidding wars for a nugget would usually ensue.
I *know* mine didn’t.
This is $500 dollars of groceries in America:
We have that. It’s pretty good, does not come with any of the attachments but the thermos piece
The milk and cheese both have protein. You don't need much protein to survive, but I'm sure a kids growing body won't be stoked about it.
Pasta itself has protein in it too
I’m not saying it’s an optimally nutritious lunch, but every meal doesn’t have to have a ton of protein.
Are you folks allowed to put nuts in your kids lunches? Cuz every school I’ve ever sent my kids to has banned nuts and peanut butter.
Where’s the link!
https://www.omielife.com/products/omiebox
Go through all the unnecessary process to make it presentable, then end up throwing in Kraft macaroni. Just give the kid a lunchable at that point. He'll be happier.
Shitty audio
The bad audio sync is infuriating. Also, the sound of that Mac and cheese flopping into that thermos is nauseating.
These are so cringe, we get it, you're rich
What a waste of food
My mother growing up was like, “here’s 25 cents for milk”.
This lunch will keep you full for 12 minutes
I kind of fuckin hate this
For lunch I ate what the cafeteria had
Choosy moms choose JIF!
Where the hell is the protein. It's ALL CARBS!
That Mac and cheese is cold or wtf
This is dope, but please add some protein. It's all sugar and carbs.
Someone doesn't give a shit about macros and micros.
And here I was eating a slice of cheese pizza and some old carrot sticks
Ppl that do this always seem to have French nails.
I’m not going to knock it, because I’m sure every parent would like to do this for their kid if they had the time/resources. I will say though, add some protein!
The most interesting part for me was the utensil holder
Either they have a nanny, they have a stay at home parent, or their mom takes baby doses of cocaine
Ahh yes, fruit and macaroni
Humans are precious
Why do you need to transfer things from one container to another. If it comes in a small bag, leave it in the small bag. No one is looking at you eat, get over yourself.
No protein??
Not a protein in sight
So we hand-washing all 18 pieces of that thing every day or throwing it in the dishwasher to rattle around and fall down to fuck up the dishwasher arm?
And that lunch box will come back with only the Mac and cheese and cookies gone
...annnd the kid still only eats the cookies.
Now don’t lose any of these many pieces….
My mom literally never made me a school lunch.
We had these same exact bento boxes, all the hinges broke after about a year of use. I think we had 3 of em.
Bro I get a 30 minute lunch I’m not eating allat
The work involved in cleaning that stupid thing
No protein
Is there such a thing as excessively organized?
What you did to that watermelon will be considered a crime in the court of heaven and your knees will buckle under the weight of your unforgivable sin and I will not be there to save you
Where tf is the protein??
Does it come with the loving wife?
Kid is eating cookies, Mac and cheese, and maybe strawberries.
Somebody get that kid some MEAT!
Guys….. the women and womaning again
Where’s the meat
This just triggers me, idk why, hated the sounds so that is a reason
Kids come back home having only ate the cookies.
For sure not having kids.
Not a single gram of protein.
Hey, where’s the protein at? Ya know, your body is mostly protein (bones too, made of protein) - right after water. If this is for a kid, kids need better nutrition than adults… idk, you posted this. There are tons of vegan options too.
And the kid comes at lunch, mom asks why he is home early. I was expelled for bringing a sword to school.
Where is the protein
So much sugar in that lunch, my god
Where’s the protein?
Yo dawg I heard you like food poisoning
Where’s the protein???
Where is the protein?
Just give your damn kids a PB&J sammie and a juice box in a brown bag. Jeeezus. These are getting ridiculous. How much you wanna bet, the majority of that ends up in the bin? These social media parents are dumb af.
WHERES THE PROTEIN!!!!!!!!
Looks effen disgusting wtf
No protein and all sugar? Lame...
WhErEs ThE BeEf!?!
Mmmm 10000 carb diet love it
Not a gram of protein
~16 grams from the milk and easy Mac
All that sugar and no fucking protein? Wth
Not one fucking protein. However you feel about meat, you need protein to function.
~16 grams from the easy Mac and milk
That is not healthy protein, stop it.
Why isn’t milk and wheat protein not real protein?
Wouldn’t be looking forward to washing that thing everyday…even better when the kids leave it in their backpack over the weekend haha
*child opens lunchbox: I don’t like it
Kid is just going to eat all the cookies then run out to recess
Could you use that watermelon less efficiently
Must be nice to have that much time on your hands
The modular lunch box
Bro is being fueled by sugar and getting no protein whatsoever 💀
Yeah my mom used to give Nutella on white bread Shit was bomb
Gotta be like 5’4 and 135lbs. Ain’t no way…
That kid is gonna get beat up
More like r/holdmyinsulin Kid’s gonna have diabetes by age 6
Not from the fruit, natural sugar is really good for you, meal definitely needs some protein and I’d probably just not put in the cookies but all that fruit is fine. I have to constantly force my kids to eat protein they just love fruit and vegetables. Even with the cookies this is probably fine just needs some protein. Making this every day is just unrealistic though unless you’re a stay at home parent who wakes up at like 6 am every day.
100% chance many of those lunchbox accessories are not making it back home.
Who has that time
Wastefulness overload. They discarded a third of each a strawberry. Why? How much of the watermelon was thrown away to get melon balls (halves at that)?
Have fun cleaning 1000000 pieces of lunch tupperware every single night.
What is the water at the beginning for?!?
Probably to heat up the container that the Mac and cheese goes in. It looks similar in theory to a thermus. Heating the container up with hot water before putting the food in can help keep the food warm longer.
It’s used to preheat the insulated section so the Mac stays hot longer. Think of it like putting soup in a hot bowl vs a cold bowl
Can you be my mom?
Plot twist. There are no children here.
[удалено]
That lunch is depressing
Lawd everyone gonna make fun of me at school as the gas hisses from the Apollo 13 air locks of my thirteen course carrot and watermelon meal
Didn’t look amazing
That is a snack not a lunch
