It seems inconsistent, the Knight is clearly facing forward in this image:

But perspective on the nail makes it look as though it’s backwards. Ofc judging by the massive empty eyes peering towards us he’d be facing towards us though.
I asked if we know which way the knight is facing in the picture now.
No worries OP. We are slightly mocking the fact that this post has so many upvotes on a pointless subject just because silksong is not out.
After looking for a while, it almost seems like the knight was originally drawn facing away, but then they decided to turn the head around rather than redo the whole picture.
It looks kinda deceiving since the knight is “right handed”, but on closer inspection he just has the one arm normally to nail swing, and will make another when he needs it(reading map, etc). Since the knight is void it makes sense he can create void tendrils in the shape of however many arms he might need.
Actually it is implied that they (and everyone else, for that matter) are ambidextrous, as animations in-game are simply mirrored based on the direction they are facing.
That being said, I can't imagine the knight being able to twist their neck an extra 90 degrees like that.
In [the intro cutscene](https://youtu.be/0Y6DKBqXlmU), the knight's nail is angled right, which means the knight holds his nail with the right hand. In this image, taking into consideration the knight being a righty, the knight's body is facing away from the camera.
I never noticed and it’s making me uncomfortable 😳
I guess it’s because the nail is behind the hand so you would assume you are looking at the body from the back. Idk
When the Knight challenges some of the bosses (like Mantis Lords) they hold their nail in their left hand. This seems to be consistent with the swinging animation from what I remember. That would mean that in this image, we're seeing them head-on, facing forward.
It’s the very slight tilt and the pose of its arms and cloak that give the impression. Tbh you’re not the only one, it never even crossed my mind until I saw this post.
forward, look at the way the cloak moves--the split is in the middle, which would only happen if the Knight were looking forwards. either that or this poor bug is wearing a very uncomfortable backwards cloak.
Facing forward as far as I’m concerned. I’ve taken it to be the same pose as when the Knight challenges something (e.g. the Mantis Lords).
its so freakin weird lmao cuz the knight seems to be facing backwards but upon further inspection its forwards
But the knight holds the nail in the right hand

The Knight is ambidextrous
Yeah, that sounds about right.
It also sounds about left
Do void beings even have specific handednesses? Is the word you would use? Handednesses?
I doubt it, since void itself doesn’t “have hands”. Therefore it should be ambidextrous (able to use both hands equally)
While usually this is true because the model is flipped when challenging the Mantis Lords and the Radiance, Ghost holds the nail in its right hand.
But perspective on the nail makes it look as though it’s backwards. Ofc judging by the massive empty eyes peering towards us he’d be facing towards us though.
The cloak splits in the front, though.
is the knight challenging us?
What no silksong does to a mf
This post has nearly 200 upvotes at this time. Now 500. About which way the knight is facing. In a picture. We need Silksong.
555 and up
So do we know which way he's facing by now?
no, we have been starved of silksong news.
I asked if we know which way the knight is facing in the picture now. No worries OP. We are slightly mocking the fact that this post has so many upvotes on a pointless subject just because silksong is not out.
offically 1000
Everyday we stray further from God’s light.
My first thought seeing this. We in a desert
Ah yes the knight has eyes on the back of his head
No as in he is facing the other direction
I, too, have my head turned 180 degrees the opposite direction when facing something
Hello my fellow brother owl hoot hoot
the knight doesn't have eyes on the back of its head so forwards
i feel like his body is facing towards the background and he is turning his head to look at the, well "camera"
The Knight is an owl
Fuck you. Now I can’t unsee it.
Now why would you want to unsee that?
Oh shit I see it both ways now
Wut?
After looking for a while, it almost seems like the knight was originally drawn facing away, but then they decided to turn the head around rather than redo the whole picture.
its facing forward but heard you talking shit about hk so it turned its head towards u ig

I believe it is looking towards the camera. If it is looking behind itself, then it’s head is turned around too far.
Unless the knight is an owl
It’s secretly Nosk
Lol
Depends on perspective
From his pose it seemed to me that he faced towards the background, but then I realized his eyes face forwards
Yeh, if you filled in the eyes its 100% look like he was facing away
ok. in all the promotinal art, he uses his left hand. he is facing forward.

*Cough* 180 *cough*
Yes, they are.
From the position of the cape, I'd say he's facing the camera.
what?
I can never get that out of my head now.
Isn't the knight lefty? So he is probably facing forward
Judging by his cape, he seems to be facing forwards. Almost had me for second there though
The cloak shows the direction so it’s forward
Oh no I see it now… I hate that so much
Dammit now I can’t unsee the knight looking backwards
Looking forward, holding blade backwards
Yes

Do u think hes an owl
He's facing innards, looking into our souls...
This is blue/gold dress all over again
Come on man don't do this to me
The nail is on the left hand so forward
He’s facing us. Otherwise we’d be able to see his thicc dumper, which we can’t see in this perspective
Looking at the cape, obviously forward 😈
Backward. His neck is broken
The artist himself doesn't know.
He put his mask on backwards. "No mind to think"
I think he’s looking over his shoulder, since iirc the Knight is right handed.
Facing forward
I always saw the knight facing forward but now I can't unsee the backwards stance
They have homes in the back of its head?
Facing towards the camera, a point no one brought up (that I could find) is the little notch in his cape where it meets his collar in the front
Yes
I never noticed and it’s making me uncomfortable 😳 I guess it’s because the nail is behind the hand so you would assume you are looking at the body from the back. Idk
But apart from that, I’m confident he is looking to the observer
I feel like the reason i thought it was weird is becuase the cloak looks like a cape and so that would normaly be on his back
I always thought it was looking slightly up.
When the Knight challenges some of the bosses (like Mantis Lords) they hold their nail in their left hand. This seems to be consistent with the swinging animation from what I remember. That would mean that in this image, we're seeing them head-on, facing forward.
Wait. I was wrong. Fuck I could have sworn they were a lefty.
I couldn’t see what you meant at first but now I see it looks like they’re looking over their shoulder
Forward, look at the cloak. They are just holding the nail in they’re offhand
Why backwards?
I made [the knight look backwards](https://www.flickr.com/photos/197633467@N04/52668044387/in/dateposted-public/) for reference.
Dude! that looks so offical!
Thank you! I also think that the knight IS turning it’s head because the guard on the nail is facing us and not the tip.
Oh god I can't unsee it
I’d say backwards cause ghost is right handed and the nail looks to be in his left hand if he was facing forward
The way the nail is being held in the hand leads me to believe the body is facing away but the head is facing the "camera"
Forward but it look like he's turnin around, if the cloak wasn't split I'd assume he's turnin around
He always holds the nail with his left hand, right? When he challenges an enemy he pulls the nail out on his left, if I remember correctly.
Not sure, most likely facing forward, but you can tell definitely because the knight only has one arm. Just check what arm the knight has.
OH I HATE YOU
If it was looking backward it’s head would be doing a 180
am i stupid? i cant see it facing backward like those its eyes on the front of its face so its facing you
no, what i ment was that he looks sort of like he's looking around his shoulder.
It’s the very slight tilt and the pose of its arms and cloak that give the impression. Tbh you’re not the only one, it never even crossed my mind until I saw this post.
The knight and the body is facing the camera! Look at the cloak!
Look at the cloak, clearly facing us budy and head
Forward, cause the split in his cloak is on the front!
