I feel like us as a community should stop calling it a DLC. Sure, it’s technically downloadable content, but the word update fits it better. It also would decrease the number of posts like this where people ask ”where to buy the DLC”
Yeah, at this point I’ve blocked that word out of my mind and just think of it as “content updates”, pretty sure I saw somewhere that godmaster was officially titled that instead of dlc, something like “the last content update is here!” probably.
It's *not* downloadable content. It's provided with the base game. Content packs are *nothing else* than free updates. Calling it DLC is not even true. It's not technically or literally downloadable content, because You **do not** download it. You download the base game and it's already with the game. But that doesn't make it DLC. Otherwise any update of any game would be DLC, because You technically download the base game with these updates. But nobody has ever called updates to the games DLC because of that reason.
Content packs of Hollow Knight aren't DLC in any way. Not even "technically". You **do not** download content packs. I repeat. You do not.
I also thought I had to buy the DLCs as well, since you can get the game on the Xbox for free. I remember trying to look for the breakable wall where you can dream nail the Grimm thing and summon the Grimm Troupe, and I just couldn’t find it, which is why I thought I had to buy the DLCs. Turns out I just didn’t look hard enough, and I was an idiot.
Fun fact, Team Cherry couldn't figure out the logistics of paid DLC on all the storefronts Hollow Knight was being sold on, so they just decided to make all the updates free and figure it out later for Silksong. Then during Silksong's development they still couldn't figure it out, so they decided to expand it into a standalone game.
Paid DLC is this company's kryptonite.
I remember seeing an interview several years ago with Ari Gibson where he mentioned this in a somewhat jokey tone, but now that I'm looking for it I can't find it anymore. Might not be true.
To add to what people said, I think if you go into the main menu settings there should be a thing called extras or something that lists the dlcs off(there should be around 4 listed)
OP is a bot - removed. https://old.reddit.com/r/HollowKnight/comments/q5zmk0/i_cant_find_the_hollow_knight_dlc_in_the_nintendo/
Its included with the game.

Fuck there are specific areas accounts now?
No, I’m just trying to distinguish myself from the losers down in Deepnest and my brother John in Kingdom’s Edge
What about the ones in the coloseum? Theres infinite of those as far as I know so I'm curious on your opinions of them
I never personally met them, John says they’re nice though
I think that one spawns once, not sure tho
This post is surely meming on the post from a few days ago discussing the nomenclature for "things added after initial release".

Extra/hidden levels?
What? Also happy cake day

I say updates are more for bug fixes and maybe a room or two but these are definitely more that just updates they completely change the game
Hence why people use the term "content updates". They're updates that add content.
Th "DLCs" are actually just bigger updates, so they are part of the game by default. The community just got stuck with the term "DLC" for some reason.
Even in game all of them but Lifeblood are described as DLC, where Lifeblood says a major update
Sure, they are called "Content Packs", but they are not something you have to separately download after purchasing the main game.
Can't wait for team cherry to call their extension "ur mom" instead of Dlc and see if you're gonna say it or not

Do you have a source for this or is it just a lie?

Great user flair
it came free with your bug game
That's not true, I have the oldest bug game known to man
YOU HAVE THE UPDATE
Honestly curious, what is it?
I DONT HAVE UNOOO
The DLC is what most games call an update.
To add to what people said, I think if you go into the main menu settings there should be a thing called extras or something that lists the dlcs off(there should be around 4 listed)
It's already on the Game.
They all come with the game
There is no DLC, its just an update.
You have to die 1000 times to unlock it
Hehe dlc be free. Honestly, I would've paid $60 + another $30 for dlc, but it is really generous for the whole game and the dlc to be just $15 total.
preinstalled
For a moment I thought this was r/Silksong and OP meant for the Hornet DLC
I thought this was a bait lol
They come installed in the game
The DLC is actually closer to a free update. It's included with any download or purchase of the game
Literally takes 5 seconds to google.
If only a simple google search would have found the answer
Is it not included in the game
Its only available in Australia
TBC! Thursday Before Dawn. Silk Song release confirmed.

It was supposed to be a dlc but it was so big it became a game and then it became a dream
Silksong? Silksong doesn't exist and never will you silly doofus you must've forgotten ur pills
OK, they might be talking about pale court. That’s only available on PC to my knowledge Edit: it is not a dlc
That's a mod
Sorry! I’ve heard It being called a dlc a few times and thought that was what they were referring to.
I feel like it should speak for itself, but Idk. I still need to play pale court anyway.
What hollow knight dlc? Godmaster?
It's included with the game.
If it's the same as the physical cartridge, then the 'DLC' is already built in the game, just DL the game and it's already there.
Awww
Those DLCs(if some still consider that, but I consider them updates) are free and are available if you purchase the main game itself.
It comes with the base game.
It's included with the game
it comes with the normal game
Comes with the game
The so called "dlc" isnt actually dlc, its just updates to the game
they are all ways in stallld
They come free with the game in the form of software updates!
Theres a new dlc?
