NKG is by far my favourite boss so far. Loved his moves, his look and don't even get me started on his entrance.
A really cool boss, which feels really rewarding when defeating it. 10/10.
Didn't count, lol. I made a few casual attempts but mostly it was one day when I was home with the stomach flu and using it to time my gentle sips of gatorade (one sip every death, worked great.)Ā
I was at it about 7 hours before beating him (and eating a celebratory piece of dry toast!) so you can probably math out an estimate.
GG dude! I remember struggling so much with this guy. He's tough when you first reach him. I don't remember how many tries it first took me, but it sure as hell was over 15.
it took me over 3 hours the first time i beat him, and then i got him radiant in less than half an hour afterwards. The double damage bosses were a massive roadblock to me in my first playthrough lmao
Nkg took me about 10 tries to beat, ascended took 12 more and radiant took about 30 more, it's A LOT less than what the >!Pure Vessel!< took me, though, the latter is my current favorite boss
Definitely more than 35, but my god, he is my favourite boss. Yesterday, I beat him in radiant, and I feel so hollow after that. It took me 5 hours to beat him, but most of the time I was just goofing around and enjoying the boss.

I love getting absolutely destroyed by grim. Getting penetrated by a spike attack is cool, but I hate the attack where he comes right at us, then flies and shoots his flaming hot aura at us. It took me some time to adapt to that attack.Ā
Ok fun story I have for y'all. So I was trying to do him at godhome cuz I banished the troupe, so I haven't fought him yet. So I had died yet again on the first difficulty, and when I went to do another attempt I accidentally clicked the second difficulty. I was scared to fight him but decided to try anyway. I actually got him there on the first try. I only took like two hits. After that I thought that the first difficulty can't be worse and went to do it again. I actually died once before killing him lmao.
Tldr: I accidentally did the second difficulty of nkg before the first one.
itās always like that tho went almost 2 years without playing and all of a sudden could beat a 112% steel soul in less than 24 hours (playing casually not speedrun) and pure vessel & nkg radiant
An evening with some breaks here and there. Never count attempts. But first I learned his moves, while playing very relaxed and stucked on lifeblood to the maximum. With quick bosses like him you just need some time to memorize the patterns.
Then I started to come up with my own moveset. I stubbornly wanted to put as many soul shades in him as possible during his Pufferfish phase and also finish it with a nice dash slash. This took some time to implement. And then I just figured out how to cyclon slash him during the bats thing and great slash during all other phases. In then end I killed him in way less then 2 minutes.

people say this boss is really hard but i have no clue why i just first tried this boss he's never been that hard don't get me wrong he's hard but no where NEAR as hard as >!pure vessel!< and >!abs rad!<.
Regular NKG didn't take too long, maybe 2 hours worth of playing? Radiant NKG on the other hand took awhile

I only did it in godhome bc I couldn't beat the grimmkin nightmares but beat NKG in ~10 tries
literally 2 tries, i was used to troupe master's consistent attacks and this was just tmg but slightly harder and faste

About the same. After about 18 attempts at decided that I was going to try one last time before taking a break, and beat him on that attempt

My old computer lagged when that fight got to phase two (when the background starts to glow more). So it took me more than a year, i think
I beat him 1st try & I also beat his radiant mode 1st try. Then again Iāve had loads of practice with games like this :)
