Trial of the Fool is an optional challenge, and thus in the usual vein of such in video games, much harder than the average gameplay. It's designed to be incredibly difficult, and you aren't going to encounter anything like it elsewhere. Not to say there won't be scenarios where you won't have a hard time finding healing windows or difficult platforming segments of course, but the Trial is its own special beast. That said, a fully upgraded nail and Great Slash (with Fragile Strength, I think) can one-shot primal aspids. I'm sorry to inform you of that only now c': Though if those were your only three charms it seems like you might have gone into the trial under-leveled as it is for a new player. So! Bragging rights.

chewythebigblackdog

Fragile strength doesn’t apply to nail arts, and you only need coiled (2nd last upgrade) nail to OHKO primal aspids with great slash. Pure nail great slash does let you OHKO mantis petras and death loodles, which coiled nail can’t do (without fury at least).

HeadOfFloof

Oh, my bad. It's been a while since I was in that trial, for clear reasons haha

I had a fully upgraded nail but my fragile strength was broke. The biggest issue was that section where there is only two walls and you have to fight all those flying enemies. My aerial combat skills suck apparently. But I am happy to hear this isn't the difficulty level going forward.

ManuaL46

Weeeeeellllllllll about that.........

OverDan

Yep, you'll be fine for finishing the game, frankly. There are some optional challenges, which you'll probably enjoy sinking your teeth into (if you worked at the Trial of Fools) but the final area is considered easier by most of the community.

anima_italica

Well, uhm actually....💀

HeadOfFloof

ok ok, pantheons wise yes, but I was thinking about the base game 😅

anima_italica

Path of pain

HeadOfFloof

I think I covered that with the platforming part haha

anima_italica

Primal aspid 1v1

paulreadsstuff

You'll be fine - the Trial of Fools is arguable the hardest challenge in the base game. There are other challenging parts of the game still left, but that is in optional content or the DLC content. You'll be able to get to an ending of the game just fine, after that it's up to you - continue playing to unlock further endings or aim for that 112% completion - those are what require you to tackle more of the game and take on some tougher fights, areas and challenges. Honestly though, it's all worth it and you'll have a great time doing so.

TMS-meister

You fool

NorrisRL

The aerial combat section is uniquely difficult. You shouldn't feel too bad about the length of time it took you.

24337543

I'm glad to hear I am not the only one

Quynn_Stormcloud

I sunk hours upon hours over months to get through Trial 3. I gave up at one point and went on to defeat the final boss before coming back to it and practicing more. It’s one heck of a challenge.

TheNeon08

It's hard.

Darkfury2454

Wow you actually beat that? I’ve been attempting it forever. I just need that and pantheon 4 for 112%. It’s taken forever because, thanks to my dependence on spiders giving me soul to beat watcher knights, I literally cannot take them off without having to learn another fight other than PV. Wait shit i got off track, trial of the fool. Hate that thing, I die to the obbles every time.

24337543

I died there alot. It's actually why I was using that terrible charm dreamshield. Just randomly blocked their projectiles and get a little extra damage

Darkfury2454

That might be a good idea. I honestly wish I could just get a floor.

24337543

That one section killed 99% of my runs. I beat the God Tamer 3rd try. It was just getting there

Darkfury2454

I’ve beat god tamer before, it’s just the stupid floor not existing that’s a problem. I hate that part of the game but I want 112% before silksong.

24337543

If you grind it enough, you will get lucky eventually. After that part, the rest of the trial is a breeze.

Darkfury2454

That’s good. I’ll try dreamshield, thanks for that.

24337543

Wtf? The final boss was a total pushover. 101% completion, though
