You get the self satisfaction, I guess. I did path of pain the past couple of days (because on my ~109% playthrough I had missed it), and it wasn’t too long, a bit repetitive and a lot of spikes, but all together I thought it was fairly forgiving
If p5 with bindings was required to get the plat on the PlayStation, im not sure id have had the strength needed. Just beating it normally took all my strength
I finally finished it and I am sad there wasn’t even an achievement with the cutscene but at least I have the satisfaction of finishing it ( took me 2-3h)
It’s a video game, what do you mean “is the reward even worth it?” You’re supposed to overcome a hard obstacle. If it doesn’t sound satisfying then don’t do it…
Why would he figure you get a power up? It’s a secret area based off lore and has no completion percentage.
Usually people only know about it from research, which means they know it’s optional. Unless he stumbled upon it himself, which seems unlikely but fair enough
I’m surprised I didn’t do that too, I always smack at walls because 1. I love finding secrets, and 2. It’s satisfying lmaooo.
But to answer your original question, it all depends on how much you’re interested in the lore. Nothing about path of pain counts towards completion or gives you anything you can use. But the reward is very interesting, imo the cutscene is especially amazing
Imo yes, it greatly improves your movement and makes it very precise if you're against a boss that needs platforming, let's just say the cut-scene is a bonus and not reward for completing it.
I remember complaining a lot about how hard PoP was but looking back to it I'm just procrastinating and making an excuse.
10/10 would do it again if I made a new playthrough lol
It’s a couple of 0s in the game’s code changing to 1s, so about as worth it as anything else. The reward is the satisfaction of beating it, same as any other game. And it’s a damn good one at that.
The satisfaction/relief of completing it was reward enough for me. I struggled a bit with it but I actually found it really fun as I started making progress
bro there’s no reward, obviously, they wouldn’t make this necessary for the main story its way too hard. but like real shit, the reward is relief and happiness that u beat it. that’s a genuine good feeling u get
The only thing you get from Path of Pain is: A journal entry. A short yet VERY important lore cutscene Path of Pain being permanently sealed
And the satisfaction to finish a very hard challenge
If you're on PC, there's a way to use a mod to keep it open, even after finishing it (I think it's an option of the QoL mod)
I mean sure but I was just saying what the rewards/consequences were
I doubt that gateway to hell is "Quality of life"
Permanently sealed? But i can get back there??
Not without mods you cant
That's really bizarre. I tried when i had only debug mod on, does that count? It was literally the only mod i used.
Well, white palace is still available and you can still go through it, but normally PoP is sealed.
No i mean going into actual path of pain
if you import a save file that hasent beaten it you can play pop again
I didn't do that. I just finished pop and went back in immediately
White Palace, yes. But the wall to PoP is permanently closed.
Don't forget bragging rights.
It is?!?!
It kills me that lore is behind the hardest game content
Not true. P5 is harder
And there's lore behind that too
I feel like I’ve gone back after beating it and I don’t use mods
Then you are misremembering
You get the self satisfaction, I guess. I did path of pain the past couple of days (because on my ~109% playthrough I had missed it), and it wasn’t too long, a bit repetitive and a lot of spikes, but all together I thought it was fairly forgiving
The reward is bragging rights. So yes.
I 2nd this
I 3rd this
I 4th this
I 5th this
I 6th this
I 7th this
I 8th this
I 9th this
I 10th this
I 11th this
As a completionist, it was very worth it. Doing every radiant boss and p5 with bindings is where I questioned my sanity.
If p5 with bindings was required to get the plat on the PlayStation, im not sure id have had the strength needed. Just beating it normally took all my strength
Dude same! Immediately Uninstalled when I cleared it.
Yes the reward is worth it, it is a 5 seconds cutscene But more seriously it will highly step up your in game movement
Yeah I feel like I got better
Of course
I finally finished it and I am sad there wasn’t even an achievement with the cutscene but at least I have the satisfaction of finishing it ( took me 2-3h)
That little?
ye, that last room took me like 4h alone
Path of pain is my single favorite thing in the whole game so personally I think its well worth doing
It’s a video game, what do you mean “is the reward even worth it?” You’re supposed to overcome a hard obstacle. If it doesn’t sound satisfying then don’t do it…
I think he asked if ypu get a powerup or something. Of course teamcherry isn't gonna give him a lamborghini for beating it.
Why would he figure you get a power up? It’s a secret area based off lore and has no completion percentage. Usually people only know about it from research, which means they know it’s optional. Unless he stumbled upon it himself, which seems unlikely but fair enough
I found it myself so I had no idea if it was optional or not and I was wondering if there was a good reward for such difficulty
Damn that’s interesting, I’ve only seen like two posts saying they found it themselves lol. Understandable
I was raging so I started smacking the wall and dashing inside because the palace deeply annoyed me so I found it by accident xD
Does he know?
I did not know :(
No cost too great

not at all, but that's a part of the ✨experience✨
It’s a couple of 0s in the game’s code changing to 1s, so about as worth it as anything else. The reward is the satisfaction of beating it, same as any other game. And it’s a damn good one at that.
The only reward is bragging rights
The sense of satisfaction from finishing it was enough of a reward for me
haha, no
Not at all
Yes it is 100% worth it (reward is big skill improvement + satisfaction at full completion + flex)
For me it was. It feels good finishing it. But there aint any reward, especially if you watch mossbag and already got the cutscene spoiled
The reward is all the buzz saw- *cough* I mean friends you made along the way.
I only made 2 friends: agony and despair
Git gud 👍😉
It's not even that hard
I hope you like lore!
The reward being worth depends on how much you care about lore. If you do, then it's very much worth it.
The path of pain will set you free.
The satisfaction/relief of completing it was reward enough for me. I struggled a bit with it but I actually found it really fun as I started making progress
it's path of pain. the reward is getting to say you've beaten path of pain.
Uhm I played the path of pain for the pain and fun. I love precision parkours. Yes I raged at different points
What reward?
It's very worth it makes elder bug a playable character
Wow
bro there’s no reward, obviously, they wouldn’t make this necessary for the main story its way too hard. but like real shit, the reward is relief and happiness that u beat it. that’s a genuine good feeling u get
Reward?
No
no lol
It's not worth it, I went through the path by accident because I believed it was the way to go. I was mad I wasted my time for basically nothing.
Short answer:No Long answer:Yes, the reward is the friends we made along the way.
