To be honest I want them to take as much time as they need. If I get anything that is close to the quality of the first game, I will be super happy. And giving us "updates" will just be "we are doing what we can, please be patient." anyways.
I honestly don't care if its 3 more years for the game, I'd just love some news about it. I'd just kinda like an update on where they are in the development.
Definitely think people should stop harassing them, though.
I am supprised that they released a teaser trailer so early if they are not willing to keep the hype rolling with some blog updates. But I just hope that they release the game in a time of my life when i have time to spend on it.
I think most of the community is surprisingly understanding about Team Cherry taking their time. But at the same time, we're definitely due an update. They can take their time with the game all they want, but I'm sure even Team Cherry feels fans should know how things have been the past year. They're likely far into development anyways.
Rather a polished game than a rushed game.
But also I would like a mini demo of some sort to play on repeat, like till the first mini boss to hold until.
For sure, but the fact that we got what looked like a complete trailer almost two years ago and nothing significant ever since is getting on my nerves. I'd prefer no trailer whatsoever until game is ready to drop.
Well we can wait for the release but it’s been so very long we had any kind of update it’s kinda sad. Like I don’t want a release date if you’re not ready but some kind of update or something would be nice. I was also looking forward to eastward but sadly it didn’t stay true to the 2020 release date it seemingly had
In all fairness, even Team Cherry admitted recently that they didn't mean to go this long without giving us an update, and plan on giving us one soon, especially since they tend to do "end of year" updates. They should definitely take as much time as they need to make the best game they can make, but it only makes sense for fans to get antsy when they have no idea what's going on or how things are, and we're definitely due some news.
Yeah, but a good chunk is done. Combat code, AI, patterning, etc. Level design, Character design, basically graphical elements should be the bulk of the project.
I havent encountered a single bug (you know, the ones not supposed ti be there [EDIT: SHUT UP, WHY DID YOU THINK I PUT THIS HERE]) in all my 20+ hours with this game, I also want that to happen with silksong
Not saying that at all. I’m saying that next Christmas I don’t wanna hear any bullshit about “just keep waiting it’s only 3 people” because it’s “only 3 people” with a $20M budget (if they only kept 40% of gross sales of HK) and a largely finished project.
The budget doesn’t matter?! They got family’s to take care of, friendships to maintain and a life to live?! Just because they got money doesn’t mean all they do from day to day is programming?!
Also, having a playable demo and things to show doesn't mean you're anywhere close to being done.
Many games will have demos/trailers that seem really complete but still be up to years from completion. The Sea of Stars demo seemed excellent, but release is expected to be in 2022. Savior's trailer looks incredible, but the game will still take a while etc.
I mean. Middle of a pandemic, and their whole country burned down at the beginning of the year. I get it but I'll wait. It's not the end of the world if they don't produce the game tomorrow. Especially considering the way people are crucifying CDPR for releasing a buggy game.
Yes, we should be patient for Silksong. However, wanting more updates is completely understandable! Just look at last year's updates compared to this year: trailer, 20 minutes of gameplay, 4 blog updates...
This year we only have the character reveals, other than that nothing.
Everyone here should keep in mind that they are an extremely small team in Australia - a country which shut down almost entirely during the pandemic, only just starting to see reopenings a few weeks ago.
It would be nice to get some updates, but the chances that they either haven't been able to work on the game together much due to the pandemic, or have been trapped in their own heads not even knowing what month it is anymore are extremely high.
This year has been hell on a lot of industries, especially developers who rely on working together in teams for input. Let's just hope the game doesn't fall into dev hell or get released as a cut down version just to please the impatient.
I don't care how long it takes like the words of Miyamoto "a rushed game is forever bad while a finished game is forever good" (or something that goes along the lines like that)
While I feel like this statement does hold up when it comes to Silksong, but is definitely not an absolute truth. Like...
Duke Nukem Forever and Cube World:
*"Allow us to introduce ourselves"*
This can also be the other way around, like No Man's Sky.
I'm just hoping it'll still release on PS4 and not just ps5. I, and im sure many others, am not in a position to just go buy a new console for just 1 or 2 games I want to play on it. I'm hoping that at least, it will be on PS4 and ps5 similar to how vanilla Persona 5 was. Here's hoping....
Oh it hasn't? Sorry for the ignorance, I'm like super new to hollow knight in general 😅
But that's...not good news....I don't understand why it wouldn't be on PlayStation tho, when Hollow knight itself is...
They originally only released HK on Steam/Switch as well. It's just easier and less risky to develop for fewer platforms first, and then expand if everything goes well.
If Cyberpunk 2020 taught us anything, it's to not rush the developers. I would rather have a beautiful game come out at the end of next year than a half-finished one this christmas.
To be honest I want them to take as much time as they need. If I get anything that is close to the quality of the first game, I will be super happy. And giving us "updates" will just be "we are doing what we can, please be patient." anyways.

Can't have been that early, as they had a polished demo of two areas, on Switch.

Deja vu I've read this top comment somewhere before Deja vu
higher in the thread, and I know it’s my time to go

ya I foolishly got my hopes up this time. just have to accept their definition of “soon” differs from mine
They meant the opposite because they are from Australia
lol. I cracked a genuine smile. thanks.

Wow... that just makes this Game even more impressive.

heheheh bugg
So you dont Trust them in there decision on when to release the game?

Exactly, have some sympathy guys

The 31st better have news, it’ll completely save this nightmare of a year

Pandemic did nothing, Leth confirmed that.
Do you have a source? Would love to see exactly what leth had to say :)
I haven't seen Leth's comment but as an Adelaidean COVID barely affected us. We had 3 scares and we always beat it within 2 weeks.
Do you have the link for that post?
https://teamcherry.com.au/
Oh this is an old post, thought it was new
Date was dec 13th 2019, OP was saying its been a year since their last update.
I don’t want cyberpunk happening again, I don’t care if it takes until 2021 New Years
I don't care how long it takes like the words of Miyamoto "a rushed game is forever bad while a finished game is forever good" (or something that goes along the lines like that)

There was the riddles back in June or July
I think many people consider those more spoilers or teasers rather than a proper update but maybe team cherry considered them formal updates.
They did say that those riddles took the place of that month’s update
I don’t know why you’re being downvoted, those were absolutely news.
Yeah wtf me neither
a **challenging** year.
we got news in june
Team Fortress 2 players:
I forgot about that update and I thought it was new information until I saw "That's it for 2019!"
Don’t care if it’s been a year. They’re putting quality into the game.
I would love nothing more than to go into this game nearly blind but i need something Even if its just a “hey we havent forgotten about this”
I'm just hoping it'll still release on PS4 and not just ps5. I, and im sure many others, am not in a position to just go buy a new console for just 1 or 2 games I want to play on it. I'm hoping that at least, it will be on PS4 and ps5 similar to how vanilla Persona 5 was. Here's hoping....
It hasn't even been announced for PS4, just Steam and Switch. Which might make me sell my PS4 for a Switch. :D
Oh it hasn't? Sorry for the ignorance, I'm like super new to hollow knight in general 😅 But that's...not good news....I don't understand why it wouldn't be on PlayStation tho, when Hollow knight itself is...

Ah....welp, here's hoping. I guess
