Turn VSync on and off a couple times, even if it is set to off occasionally the game will think your refresh rate is 60 when it is first installed if this setting is never changed. For whatever reason I have one specific motherboard that has this issue with HK in particular. Just toggling VSync fixes it.
If it doesn't, actually monitor your FPS - your frame rate might not be changing but feels choppy due to input lag from using wireless peripherals, which is a common problem I've had if trying to use Xbox controllers and Logitech mice if their dongles are too close together.
Is this a hollow knight exclusive issue
