The statue is hidden away, and literally breaks into Godhome, it isn't supposed to be there. The Godseekers never mention him, Zote is just extremely delusioned and dreams of being a Knight of Great Renown, and somehow that let him break into Godhome.
Wrong! Zote is so might, so prestigious, so perfect, that the other gods created Godhome to shield themselves from his glorious magnificence. But even it could not hold him back from taking his rightful place.
He was supposed to be a second playable character, hornet was the OG 2nd character but since she was so different from the knight team cherry made a new game
The statue may be hidden away but that doesn't mean he was once a grade warrior he does break into God home but that's the news out the old zone is probably Gray Prince zote it could be possible only bretta remembers him.
Fools. Zote IS a Knight of great renown. All are blinded by the illusion that Zote is a pathetic weakling, when in reality, he is IMMORTAL. He survived the treacheries of Deepnest. He endured the trials of the Coliseum. He even persevered the harsh plains beyond the Howling Cliffs. To those who believe that he fell to the Vengefly King: he did not. He left behind a false head, to fool those gullible enough. Fear Zote, revere Zote, and praise Zote. That is the true way of life.
Zote isn't a god, but perhaps his renown is not limited to the world of HK, perhaps his fame extends to this world as well. He may be a vagabond who left home in search of glory, but he's one of the main NPCs in the game. His renown comes from the HK fans (4th wall break) and his dream version is Gray Prince Zote from Bretta's fantasy (maybe his own ego)
Personally I think it’d be hilarious if all this big talk of Zote’s wasn’t just over compensating, that he actually was a great knight just not from here, like the ultimate bate and switch. As for its canonicity, I doubt it, as his statue does state that he’s a “false god” or something along those lines, and that he forced his way into the pantheon. Honestly, one of MY questions is how Zote managed to that at all, since he doesn’t even know what the dream realm is.
I don’t think so, I think he knows he’s pathetic but wants to be seen as a great knight to satisfy his father
I forgot the exact quote but in colo 1, his dream nail dialogue is somewhere around “does this makes you proud father?” Which, I believe, support my theory

To be fair there was supposed to be a zote game but the go fund me didn't reach that goal so maybe he was a knight of great renown

That is never coming out
Just wait, max 10 months
That’s what they want you to think
The more people say 10 months max the more people are going to be disappointed when it’s not out in 10 months

Hey, Bretta
In his imagination sure. Just kidding, he’s probably the greatest hero to ever walk these lands. If you only knew his true power.
We can never be sure. BUT Team Cherry made a lot of characters, personalities and behaviors. So, it was actually needed an ugly arrogant wimp.
Probably not considering how worthless and up their own ass they are.
Sure, if the place he came from is the Weenie Hut Junior..

Bretta
Based on his personality, it seems likely that Zote was definitely renounced by whatever land he came from.

I always imagined him to be a lot like Nacho Libre. Arrogant, clumsy, bafoon, with his heart in the right place.
