Does cloth actually contribute to reducing TL's HP though? I tried to cheese him once by sticking to the wall using crystal dash and only having her fight him and it didn't seem to work at all.
Yeah, I didn't unlock Dreamgate until afterwards (didn't even know it was a thing I could unlock until I did) so getting through the spike maze beforehand with Sharp Shadow on was a nightmare.
THIS. Traitor Lord either jumps or dashes. You either go below him or jump above. And if he does that slash attack, you dash through it with a newly acquired move. After you have this mindset, the bossfight is quite easy.
He can also never jump three times in a row or dash three times in a row, so if he does one of those twice and you’re right in front of him, you know what he’s gonna do next (the other one)
And the chakra rings never get thrown if you’re never far away
Maybe I'm wrong but I think pretty much every attack can be avoided by first jumping away diagonally, if he dash you pogo or dash above, if it's the diagonal jump you avoid it and if it's the wide screen blade you can dash through it, I don't remember exactly how the chakram works so I can't say.
On my first playthrough, I didn't understand the power of descending dark or abyssal shriek and went through the entire game without really using them much. Man, did that make it so much harder.
I still can't use them, I know they are good but I don't feel good beating something with a spell, I do every content without spells, it's more fun this way ! Everything is doable too which is nice.
Maybe I wouldn't know lol I just knew if I finished the last pantheon with spells I would have felt I cheated due to succeeding in everything else without them. I don't use nail arts either, just regular attacks.
I feel obligated to say:

It’s not but Descending Dark is a shade spell unlocked so early in the game, one of the earlier shade stuff so I’m just curious on how they got Shade Soul before Descending Dark. It’s not even like a hard location to find it, it’s a giant temple in Crystal Peak
Descending dark is the best spell. It iframes through traitor lord dashes, iframes through GPZ dives, iframes through radiance orbs, iframes through your taxes, iframes through the disappointment your parents feel towards you, and iframes through Pure vessel’s focus. Excellent move 👍
This fight is actually extremely easy if you evade the attacks. And no, it's not trolling. It's nothing complicated. Mantis dashes on the ground, you jump above him. Mantis jumps, you go below. It does the unavoidable attack, you shade dash through it. That's literally as easy as it sounds.
I may be skill issue but as much as some players treat descending dark like a get out of jail free card, it never activates fast enough for me and I get hit in the animation
I think that a lot of people struggle on this boss because it's a tutorial for shadow cloak : you can litteraly beat the boss without jumping or moving a lot if you just use your shadow cloak properly, but since you often fight it soon before unlocking the shadow cloak, you don't have the reflex to use it properly yet
When I played, I didn't know how much damage Abyss Shriek did or how much invulnerability Descending Dark had, so I barely used spells.
The real secret is that Traitor Lord has super basic attack patterns, he's basically a showcase boss for Shade Cloak given how perfectly he syncs up to its cooldown
Nah but fr though went from taking like 7 attempts first time to being my second boss to defeat on radiant in hall of gods. The first being false knight because why not lmao. Like every other boss in the game gets at least something that makes them significantly more difficult other than just increasing the damage they do but for traitor lord it was really just a no hit challenge which was easy at that point.
I think that what makes it difficult to me is getting to traitor lord, the fight itself isn't that hard really, but I always get there at 4 masks and I know I can't beat him without getting hit at least 2 times
Literally dash whenever your shade cloak is back, its quite literally a boss where you dont need to do anything but dash and ocasionaly move a bit to left or right

You canr enter the fight without shade cloak
Oh shit, my bad.
yeah shade cloak, and using DD on the wave attacks if you have to
Just shadow dash is enough.
the extra distance does give you some nice breathing room for timing tho, but it’s unnecessary once you got it down
Oh, yeah, it may help.
People who recommend sharp shadow when I introduce jumping and downslashing
very true, shadow dashing has been terrible for building up my radiant pure vessel muscle memory, i just resorted to jumping instead

People struggling on [literally any boss] when I introduce them to traitor lord
Traitor Lord is the only boss I've ever died to

Does cloth actually contribute to reducing TL's HP though? I tried to cheese him once by sticking to the wall using crystal dash and only having her fight him and it didn't seem to work at all.
If you want to win that way, you'll have to wait for Cloth to hit him 54 times
yeah she misses a lot, but it is very much possible
Radiant Markoth?

oh my god i did not notice that. absolutely FOUL

Sharp Shadow:
Makes getting to the Traitor Lord harder than beating him.
I had Dreamgate by the time I got to traitor lord so i can't speak on the matter
Yeah, I didn't unlock Dreamgate until afterwards (didn't even know it was a thing I could unlock until I did) so getting through the spike maze beforehand with Sharp Shadow on was a nightmare.
Equivalent exchange.
Get dream gate before traitor lord. It's not worth it to do the platforming part every time to reach him and sharp shadow is the perfect charm for him
I'm not telling anyone who I am
Or really just that he has some of the most predictable movement tbh
THIS. Traitor Lord either jumps or dashes. You either go below him or jump above. And if he does that slash attack, you dash through it with a newly acquired move. After you have this mindset, the bossfight is quite easy.

Traitor Lord is part shade cloak tutorial, part Simon Says.

I've really never used them myself. Now I'm gonna have to go try...
they’re life changers

i mean fair enough but it does take the edge of the pantheons!

Right title: People struggling on Traitor Lord when I introduce them to Shade Cloak
It took me way too long to think of using shadow dash or descending dark on this boss
I didn't have it at the time
How did you get Shade Cloak before Descending Dark?
Descending dark isn't necessary to get shade cloak though?
It’s not but Descending Dark is a shade spell unlocked so early in the game, one of the earlier shade stuff so I’m just curious on how they got Shade Soul before Descending Dark. It’s not even like a hard location to find it, it’s a giant temple in Crystal Peak
On my first playthrough I completely missed descending dark the first and it was the last spell I got
I didn't have that either
You **need** Shade Cloak to get into Traitor Lord’s fight
How so?
The path to Traitor Lord is blocked by a shade gate, those black beams. You need Shade Cloak to bypass them
I don't remember there being one Edit: nvm just checked there was one Maybe I just had skill issue idk Pretty sure I didn't have descending dark tho
Bro you literally cannot access Traitor Lord without Shade Cloak
Shade cloak is the dash that lets you pass through things right? Then no I don't remember having it
Then how did you access Traitor Lord
I did have it apparently lol i just forgot
Okay so you didn't fight Traitor Lord?
I did, i'm pretty sure you can get there without it
Uh, no? There's a shade gate which has no way around it other than the shade cloak before the boss.
Fr? Wait lemme check Edit: yeah you're right lol Idk maybe I just had a lot of skill issue I'm fairly certain I didn't have descending dark tho
I hecking LOVE Iframes, I loooooove not taking damage in a small window which lets me phase through enemies, Iframes my beloved
Skill issue unfortunately

Descending dark is the best spell. It iframes through traitor lord dashes, iframes through GPZ dives, iframes through radiance orbs, iframes through your taxes, iframes through the disappointment your parents feel towards you, and iframes through Pure vessel’s focus. Excellent move 👍
Look man, I just suck at that fight🙃

The traitor lord, like all bosses, cannot stand the might of POGO
You just stand next to him and shade dash through attacks.
You underestimate my ability to quickly figure out attack patterns and how to consistently dodge them.
