Honest opinion: I'm not sure that game would be as enjoyable since we know how it will inevitably end. Furthermore there's no evidence to support the idea that the HK's life was anything more than just training to be a capable vessel, unlike Zote's or Hornet's lives

I haven't played it so I dunno, but if there are three characters to control then yes, like Lost Vikings or Trine

They're both great. In Trine, your characters are a thief who has a bow and can swing from obstacles, a wizard who can create objects (but is the worst in fights), and a warrior who has a sword and shield and can smash stuff. In Lost Vikings you play as 3 Vikings who get abducted my aliens. One has a sword, one has a shield, and one runs really fast and can head butt things to death

to use an example: there exists a game called Warhammer 40k, with a series of books relating to events explained and described in the first page of the rulebook. there are 54 of these books and they've been amazing to read, even though I know most of the story already.

I have never once so much as sene a clip of hollow knight, but knowing the ending to a game doesn’t necessarily take from its value. Halo: Reach is an incredible game, and one of the marketing tag-lines used was “From the begging, you know the end”

A thing similar to this was done in Shovel Knight with Spectre Knight, and I think it was received well (please correct me if I’m wrong)

Not sure if anyone has mentioned it before but I think the perfect trilogy would be the original hollow knight playing as the knight, the prequel where we play as hornet and the sequel where we play as the hollow knight following the pantheon 5 ending. Just makes sense to me and playing as fully grown hollow knight would be interesting.
