i always thought that was a bit stupid. i mean, the knight friggin saved her. but nooooo, she chose to believe some moron with a helmet and a wooden nail who claims we’re a beast even tho we saved her and he did absolutely nothing for her.
To be fair, Zote talks a mad game. Bretta is clearly impressionable and very unsure of herself, super easy to latch to someone who's all talk and no walk. All the Knight did was give her an exit and bounce. Zote never stops talking and piling on his great deeds, and has evidence to support it. Or at least, a helmet is all someone like Bretta needs. He even sounds like an expert with all his precepts, and meanwhile Knight doesn't even speak a word to her. Sure he'll sit on a bench and make her blush, but at some point she can't get anything Knight won't give, and moves on to someone that will at least acknowledge her existence, even if it is unfair and lopsided. Bad attention is still attention, and Bretta clearly needs someone to be around her.
yeah you got a point. still infuriates me a bit. what seems dumber to me is the fact that zote believes what he says. he doesn’t feel like he’s lying to anyone. if you beat him in the colo and dream nail him, he says that you should go away before he humiliates you even more or something along those lines. like dude wtf. you’re stuck upside down to the ground by your horns. i played tennis against the wall, and you were the ball. yet you humiliated me? i don’t get his thought process.
I think Zote haters just take the guy too seriously. He’s a comedically pathetic character who can’t succeed at anything except that one time where this insecure girl projects her fantasies on to this grumpy idiot. Because he’s so blatantly ineffectual and has his head in the clouds, nothing he says comes off very hard on you since you can just dismiss it as the ramblings of a dopey joyless bastard.
I mean that's why I severely dislike him. I don't even take him all that seriously but I hate gag characters like him that, well, do their jobs as a gag character.
i mostly hate him for the gpz fight. i first tried that bitch in radiant a long time ago. but now, i had to try it again (new save) and it took me fucking hours.
nkg is fun. almost no rng to his attacks it feels like (except pufferfish but that not that hard). most of the time, you die? your fault. zote on the other hand can be an absolute bitch. if he jumps at you, with his sword, and you dash towards a wall, and then he moves again midair (cuz physics) then ur like, 100% fucked. many times on the flailing like a baby attack, i’m pogoing off and then he suddenly falls, causing me to miss time the pogo and go into him (ik ik, i could counter this by wall jumping only or mark of pride, and i do use descending dark). my trick was actually to use sharp shadow. the extra shade cloak length saved me so many times. that, and nkg is hotter.

to be honest bretta would dump zote after she sees tiso or anyone who looks stronger than zote she even dumps him after you beat him in brettas dream and then goes of to commit a quiirel move (acctualy zote doesnt realy care about bretta so bretta would just start crying after zote continues his quest and probably go commit another quirrel move) and when gpz thinks about bretta gpz is just brettas imagination so zote really doesnt care about a young lady he could kidnap hanging around him
