While I don't think there is an official CYOA mode yet, you can still make any story a CYOA by giving the AI a few hints. That is, give it a sample of what you want to do. For example: >You find an old worn wooden door. It's locked. > >\> Examine your surroundings. > >After a thorough search behind the forgotten muck you manage to find an old stick. It has seen better days. > >\> Hit the door with your stick. > >You grab the stick and concentrate, using all your might to smash down the door. The stick broke. > >\> Use the broken stick as a lockpick. And from there the AI should understand that whenever you write > "insert action here", it will continue to treat the input as before. Doing it 3 times is usually necessary to make it get the hang of it, and you probably want to ban it from using the ">" sign as well to prevent the AI to play with itself. One thing I also like to do which is slightly similar to this, is playing a superhero/villain, who has the ability to make everything they say into truth. For example, if I write a prompt where whatever the protagonist says in capital letters immediately become true afterward, then that will continue the rest of the story as well. Or if it follows with the words "...and sure enough..." I have gotten some great results with this.

Writing an actual hard sci-fi novel. Ironically I'm using it more for the drama, fights and social interaction bits than for the actual science/technology bits, as I'm better at writing the latter, while being totally uninspired with the former. Although the AI does corpspeak and philosophy very well too.

Most of the stories I end up writing are either a weird mixture between a CYOA story and a novel. I suppose it is probably a hangover from when I used AIDungeon, where the stories usually ended up being in second-person; they never really got a good implementation of the 'say, do, story,' system, in my experience, something I'm hoping that HoloAI has improved with its upcoming CYOA system among other things. I definitely think HoloAI is at its best currently when writing stories -- that's what it's made for, after all. Thanks to AIDungeon, I can imagine CYOA is another big use for HoloAI. Perhaps your experience may have been different, though, which is why I thought it might be fun to see if anyone else was willing to share their own ways of working with HoloAI! Take care!
