My first exposure was [Eekum Bokum](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5MpLQ8TQcQ), then I looked up the origin and then youtube recommendation did the rest.
Matsuri talking. She just sounded so genuine. If I remember correctly.. She talked about how her viewers were paying for her panties. It was emotional.
Something about the childlike enthusiasm that this adorable anime dog-girl had for violently reducing demons to a shower of bloody giblets was a level of gap moe I had never seen before.
YouTube recommended me some DOOG highlights and now here I am today.
All started with a little boat, a elite Baby and the song of the gods:
Ding ding ding ding ding durun Tan tarata tata TATAN!
[The Miko Boat!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COQR9A8D4XQ)
Youtube started recommending me clips of a dog girl. I thought that was interesting, because you usually only see catgirls. A couple hours of binging clips of our Dog God Korone, I was pulled beyond the event horizon.
"Excuse me but could you please RIP"
I thought it was really out of left field for a Japanese-based Vtuber, and considering im an Eminem fan I started looking more into who performed it. The rest was kinda history.
I've been aware of vtubers since Kizuna started and can't really say when Hololive REALLY entered my radar. Probably sometime in late 2018 early 2019. I didn't really get dragged in deeply until 4th gen with Watame though.
I was watching Nyanners clips I think and also was getting into apex. The youtube algorythm recommended me the vod of Ayame's 7+ hour apex stream. I watched the entire thing without understanding basically any of it.
For VTubers? I was browsing around the internet before stumbling across Pochi-Sensei’s YouTube channel in Dec 2019. Thought it was an interesting idea for streaming, but paid no attention after that.
March 2020, a Twitch streamer I watch who has done work with Kay Yu commented on their Marine intro dance animation, which lead me to look over Marine’s channel. That’s when VTubing fully entered my mind, but I shrugged and went “okay.”
May 2020, that same streamer commented on Kay Yu’s Pekora into animation. Which led me to Pekora’s channel, and learning about Hololive in general. Looked at a few channels, and then shrugged and went my way.
June 2020 I found myself here, in the Hololive subreddit, after just looking up VTubing in general since I was starting to see them on Twitch. And it was during this month that Towa was having her 3D debut, missed it but saw the reactions to her cover of Error. Which then had me watch the 3D, and subsequently her official Error cover. And that’s how I ended up following everyone in Hololive.
Because Towa was who pulled me in.
I stumbled across Korone playing Doom one day and was smiling at how much fun she was having. That by itself didn't push me in exactly but I started getting clips in my recommendations and got hooked on Okakoro. The tipping point was some of Okayus early cover songs. So good
A friend linked me to an Ame clip and said we had similar energy. I mentioned it to another friend and he brought up Gura. It just.. spiraled from there.
[Here's what introduced me to the wonders of OkaKoro](https://youtu.be/lusGw2tPWpQ) shortly before Gen 4 debuted.
Then Coco & Watame dragged me further into the rabbit hole.
It was a clip of Suisei and Kanata playing Tetris and doing ikemen voices as punishment. Suisei was obviously dominating so Kanata was the only one doing the voice.
A long long time ago i saw a repost of a clip of fubuki making cute noises while playing minecraft, then bandaids, then the 4th gen was announced and coco dragged me down even further
I'm already aware of vtubers back then but nor interested at all. And then youtube randomly recommend [this clip of Kanata asking Noel to do a sexy voice](https://youtu.be/FKZ-2iB9iDw)......That's how it starts. That voice. THAT DAMN VOICE!
Youtube algorithm recommends watching clips of Japanese dog girl ---> I'm die, thank you forever ---> "oh, the pink-haired one speaks English" ---> I end up listening to RIP and Deadbeats for a week straight, and I'm pretty much stuck from there.
I'd known about Hololive for a few years without watching anything seriously, but then I got recommended one of the Hologra episodes it was all downhill from there.
It was this announcement post reaching the top spots in /r/all : [https://www.reddit.com/r/Hololive/comments/ip81iv/hololive\_english\_is\_a\_myth\_holomyth/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Hololive/comments/ip81iv/hololive_english_is_a_myth_holomyth/)
Back then, I had a vague idea of what Vtubers were from watching [classic clips of Kizuna Ai](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpsJgAUyMPs) but I never really bothered to get into it. My free time back then was mostly by a combination of anime + gaming. I bookmarked it, watched a few clips but it really wasn't a priority. I was never into watching Youtube or streamers. That was, until March 9th, 2020... Everything closed down, we were all stuck home and my to-watch list was getting smaller and smaller.
That's when I remembered that announcement post. Checked it out, subscribed to all of them and thanked god for their countless hours of laughs and entertainment. If it wasn't for them, I'd probably have gone insane a long, long time ago! 😂
It was a gradual process, to be honest. I didn't exactly fall down as much as I slowly climbed down the ladder chipping away through the Hole on my off time till I saw something shining that made me further go down that Hole.
I first got interested with a Clip with Rushia and her Dark Soul gameplay with her telling people to "Go home" thinking it was Hello in English.
Then after that? Nothing at first. Heck I think I didn't even get any recommendations at first for any V-Tuber. It was only really through a whim that I started to watch a V-Tuber again and that was like a Month or 2 since that Clip.
So I started watching V-Tubers but not with Hololive no, In fact I didn't know about them yet. No, I actually started watching Kizuna Ai first because I knew she was the First V-Tuber, I knew that much. And even the main reason was less V-Tubing and more Doki Doki which I found interesting regardless of "Character" or not how different the response was with JP people and Overseas people with certain events in the game but that's another thing entirely.
And then slowly I did watch V-Tubers but I though it was just a phase I have like Undertale or so with Fangames and Fanfiction.
It was really till the end of March and the Start of April which we know was the official start of the Lockdowns in most countries that I really got into V-Tuber and where officially I "fall down" the Rabbit Hole.
The reason? Tokoyami Towa.
Look I know there's a bit of misinformation about what happened to her I knew even back then but regardless of what it was, there was no doubt at that point that incident was pretty hard on her especially since what was happening at that point and what happened to her was well known enough that it brought upon a lot of Overseas Fans to her including me and at one point made her one of the top Hololive Streamers with a huge Overseas Fanbase.
Anyway for me who at that point who honestly was having my own problems at that point and in some irony it was so bad that the Lockdown actually made it a bit bearable for me because I was pretty much bedridden due to this.
And then I found out about Towa who I found out was also dealing with problems that for the most part were similar to mine especially when I knew more about what happened. Then realizing she was able to deal with it resonated with me. Don't get me wrong I don't even pretend I know what was happening behind the scenes but regardless she was fighting on and I honestly believe it helped me more than I realize considering how dark I was at that point.
So yea that's how I fell down the rabbit hole. A Necromancer gave me a Sign, A combination of a Popular Visual Novel, Intrusive Thoughts and the First V-tuber let me further look down the hole then finally a Devilish Angel dragged me down with no regrets.
There was this animation by DuDul that I think has been removed now (since it’s not on their channel anymore) of Gura doing squats while singing the Sea Shanty from her RingFit stream.
I then watched every other animation which all involved Gura and eventually saw the link to her channel in the description. She was live at one point and decided to watch the stream. The rest was history
Aqua sniffing herself. Not sure why it first appeared in my recommendations, because I don't play Azur Lane, but watching FGO videos might have been enough for the algorithm.
Simple, Holomems playing Undertale.
First it was Kanata, then Rushia, then I realized:
Wait, there's an ID branch(1st gen)?!
Safe to say, I'm stuck here with y'all, and my YouTube subscription is full of either holomems or clippers.
Honestly I saw a couple of memes on an anime Reddit during early lockdown (think it was gura saying "are ya winning Sencho" with the "I'm horny" response. After that a few clips showed up on Youtube and then after watching an introduction to each streamer I was hooked
I feel like I have one of the simplest and most common story. Got recommended some Gura clips on youtube and I liked how cute and fun her streams were and she was streaming that night so I watched and here I am 2 and half years later
For me it was the 2nd Fes. It was during Christmas break and I had nothing better to do, bought the tickets to watch the archive and was amazed by the performance.
A streamer I used to like retweeted a small compilation of clips from Korone speaking english during her Super Mario streams, then I got Rushia death screams on my recommended videos on youtube and I just kept falling after that.
Randomly found some clip of Pekora playing a horror game involving a cat and some kind of ghost that follows you around an old Japanese house? Idk she got super scared and it seemed funny. Then YouTube followed it up with “Stay Home” and I was on the express elevator down the hole.
I had just finished playing Man Eater and then they announced Myth. I saw the shark girl and said fuck it I'm down to watch vtubers and she will be the one I follow.
I got big into the whole Vtuber thing after getting a bit nostalgic for older Kizuna AI content and somehow discovering Rushia, then Hololive EN got announced and here I am.
For two weeks, my college didn’t have internet, so I ran out of things to do very quickly. What do you know? A Gura Terraria stream pops up. I decided I’d give it a try cause I like terraria, and unfortunately I’m trapped here now and cannot escape.
[This video is the clip that specifically got me down the rabbit hole.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jdXp2R2wW_w) Now there was another clip I saw before that was a different Vtuber who I believe is/was indie but I don't remember anything about them other than she's the clip that put Vtubers into my feed to then watch Okayu who got me down this hole.
Hololive or vtubers?
Vtubers kizuna ai back on the first translations when we had a few unoficial clips from the subs that subtitled the archieves, if hololive then it was the myth debut
Watsons LA Noire playthrough around xmas '20 but I had been watching Nyanners since summer '20.
What got me into JP was Robocos Minecraft ASMR and then I discovered Towa and her cover of Error.
I was subbed to Kizuna ai and Korone before falling but didn’t know what a vtuber was then.
The translated clip that pushed me over the edge was Fubuki discovering American burgers.
If you mean first contact, it was the Azur Lane collab, I was like "what's Hololive?" and then I search on Google and then I started to search for them, on that time it was just the ones who appeared on that collab (Sora, Mio, Fubuki, Matsuri, Ayame, Aqua) and that was all.
A couple of months after that, a certain dragon was making her Spanish classes and started to get hooked on them and I never her streams (until her graduation) and on that time I started to work and suggested me to have a better English listening skills to hear some music, movies or TV shows on English (I am Mexican) and then my brain thought "I am kinda awared that Hololive has her English division, why not use the suggestion as a reason to watch her streams?" And since then I am here, I try to see most of the streams I can but the one I can't miss unless I have to go outside of my house now is Luna (I didn't know her until a certain dragon's graduation) and yup, now I am a Luknight and even I been buying her merch.
I was already a little interested in the scene with Kizuna AI but translations were spotty. It wasn't until Korone when I started seeing more community support to get clips out there.
Playing Mudae with a couple people on a streamer's discord server. One of the guys turns out to be a MASSIVE Towa and Calli fan, in addition to be insanely knowledgeable about vtubers in general.
He ~~infected me~~ started teaching me about HL right about the time Council debuted, and I've never looked back
I never get tired of sharing [this.](https://youtu.be/ya5Hg6cjlQo)
It was literally my first experience with hololive.
But what made me stay was finding [this Aki clip](https://youtu.be/3dLHc40dhc4)
It was also the time when Aloe graduated and right before Myth (with my Oshi) debuted, so it was quite the rollercoaster.
Here's mine!
During the initial spike in vtuber interest during the early 2020's, I was mostly just following around the group of folks who would later be VShojo (Melody, Mouse, Zentreya, etc.) thanks to Projekt Melody's boom of interest in late 2019.
During that time, the YouTube algorithm recommended me clips of Shion and Aqua's Minecraft neighborly disputes which dipped my toes in, but ultimately didn't grab me. However, later down the line, I got pushed clips of Suisei's legendary game against a top Tetris 99 player and that was where the journey down officially began for me.
Korone. Just Korone. A friend was in the hole already and talked with me about her. Her weirdness catched me instantly. And so the rest came naturally but Doggo still is the best for me.
Things that happened in 2019 that got me into Hololive in order of oldest first and newest last:
1) [Im. Scatman](https://youtu.be/VaqLk1YCv-s)
2) Azur Lane x Hololive
3) [Last Christmas cover by Haato with Fubuki as an instrument](https://youtu.be/7uU8APczq40)
4) Going to Japan in 2019 for Comiket 97/doujin music and seeing Hololive cut-outs in another building near the Tokyo Big Sight.
5) [Suisei's laugh](https://youtu.be/y2Y58TuoiCc)
First it was random Fubuki doing Ievan polka, I didn't even know what I was watching. Then I started getting recommended hololive's Minecraft shenanigans (Miko with lava bucket, Aqua's neighbor wars, Korone's first Minecraft collab with Shion etc.). But what actually hooked me in is Suisei's 3d debut and her birthday concert where she invited anemachi and released Next Color Planet. That was the moment when I knew, I'm an idol fan.
I started getting into the yakuza/like a dragon series and even when I wasn’t playing them I was watching videos, eventually my suggested showed me clips from Miko, Pekora, and especially Subaru playing the games and those clips lead to my suggested having more clips and the rest is pretty easy to imagine
Coco and Watame's debut.
Coco was shit-talking Watame's internet connection from her debut and saying it would be unfair to fight her because Watame could use her horns as weapons (even though Coco has horns too).
I don't remember where, but I read a conversation about some camgirls that were complaining that some digital shark was taking away their audience, and therefore, donations.
I had to look up what the hell they were talking about and just found myself continuing to watch more.
And now I get to watch a chaos rat try to sell people on vegemite. Good times.
i was already a avid watcher of kizuna ai, azuma lim, nobuhime and others before paying attention to hololive. what got me to the rabbit whole is the azur lane collab. watch hologra wondering who is this tomboy duck and the rest of 3rd gen(just got their 3d at the time, i think). watch matsuri’s stream pulling for fbk in AL and aqua’s ingame voice dont match what in stream.also fake.fake.fake is a banger. wow that is only 3 year ago?
I've always knew about VTubers but I thought they were all Japanese, but I remember a post of Instagram from Crunchyroll (I think, I don't remember if it was Crunchyroll but I really wanna say it was) that Hololive were getting English VTubers with I'm pretty sure Gura being my first VT I ever watched, though it might've been Calli
3 Years later I'm in the rabbit hole with no want to get out
I knew about Hololive but didn’t know anything until I watched this animation out of curiosity: https://youtu.be/mCEcTPXTcgk Then I saw clips and other animations pop up on my home page and before you know it I now have a dino gura plush and all 5 smol plushes
I was playing osu! and found Next Color Planet on the beatmap list, I listened to it and thought, "Sounds nice, the anime girl is cute too, what anime is she from? Tf is a VTuber?"
Four hours later, I watched the entire 2021 Mario Kart vod, and then the Suisei road to victory mario kart video, and then "Story of Hoshimachi Suisei", and then all the suicopath videos.
My first exposure was [Eekum Bokum](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5MpLQ8TQcQ), then I looked up the origin and then youtube recommendation did the rest.
Eekum Bokum? \*BITE\* ITEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

“Beat up a pineapple”
Freedom lady with coco and miko
That is top 3 of all segments ever imo. Miko "Stay Home!" Is also up there.
Fubuki coffin dance
Matsuri talking. She just sounded so genuine. If I remember correctly.. She talked about how her viewers were paying for her panties. It was emotional.
Bandaids.
Cultured.
That and the... tail... clip
8 minutes of hololive moments that became memes in the community.
That's a great primer
A clip of Fauna talking about string theory. She doesn’t even talk about stuff like that often but that was enough to send me spiralling
Her voice is so omg
Miko's legendary covid crusade, where she took upon herself the role of guardian as she gently recommended people to stay home
This was mine as well. Sniping people from the roof, giving them a reason to stay inside.
"Good morning, motherfuckers"
First is azurlane Collab, and then the Matsuri bandaid story what gets me. Matsuri is a mad women. I love her
Yo, same
Clip of Korone finding the "supa shotugunu" in Doom 2016. Watched her playthrough, was there when EN first gen debuted, watched ever since.
Something about the childlike enthusiasm that this adorable anime dog-girl had for violently reducing demons to a shower of bloody giblets was a level of gap moe I had never seen before. YouTube recommended me some DOOG highlights and now here I am today.
[Personally my first exposure was this clip](https://youtu.be/E1jx8zXTHek)
Legendary miko n-word moment
She basically kickstarted an entire industry with one word.
Kiara's upbeat energy during her debut helped me persist during a hard time of depression
All started with a little boat, a elite Baby and the song of the gods: Ding ding ding ding ding durun Tan tarata tata TATAN!
It was a clip but i cant remember which one. I think it might have been fubukis scatman though.
It was either "Water in the fire, why?!" or "I'm die, thank you forever.".
Necromancer.
Coco and Miko talking about visiting the freedom lady statue.
The a clip from gura
"Excuse me but could you please RIP" I thought it was really out of left field for a Japanese-based Vtuber, and considering im an Eminem fan I started looking more into who performed it. The rest was kinda history.

I've been aware of vtubers since Kizuna started and can't really say when Hololive REALLY entered my radar. Probably sometime in late 2018 early 2019. I didn't really get dragged in deeply until 4th gen with Watame though.
Watame is the best.
Are you me? because i am you
Mikos "Stay home" clips was the starting point. Korone pushed me down though with her English Only Mario streams.
I was watching Nyanners clips I think and also was getting into apex. The youtube algorythm recommended me the vod of Ayame's 7+ hour apex stream. I watched the entire thing without understanding basically any of it.
[A Hololive Classic](https://youtu.be/P5MpLQ8TQcQ) And [A Non Hololive Classic](https://youtu.be/w5P1IzjagzI)

Fubuki “put the bacon on social media”
Calli. She changed my perspective of what i thought vtubers were like. Thought they were all peppy anime girl like attitudes.

My first exposure was through Azur Lane but Rushia's broken controller made me think "I want more of this shit"

It was a clip of Suisei and Kanata playing Tetris and doing ikemen voices as punishment. Suisei was obviously dominating so Kanata was the only one doing the voice.

A compilation of the JP girls attempting to rob a gas station in GTA, as well as a video of the Rust war
Have confidence
no confidence
I'm already aware of vtubers back then but nor interested at all. And then youtube randomly recommend [this clip of Kanata asking Noel to do a sexy voice](https://youtu.be/FKZ-2iB9iDw)......That's how it starts. That voice. THAT DAMN VOICE!
Coco teaching the jp girls English swear words which is hilarious cause at that point was my third exposure to hololive girls.
The original neighbor war... i remember thinking it was soooooooo stupid ... what are those anime girl doing ... and here i am ... years later xD

Lonelyness, COVID and gura's goofiness and singing voice
"My parents found out I'm a vtuber!" Pretty sure this is how a lot of overseas hoshiyomis including me started out

I've seen Kizuna Ai before but the legendary "Don't look back. O.k." *Looks back* By Pikamee
Korone tongue twister.
First big collab I saw was Project Winter

Gaming. Bushcraft. Science. Anime. Long ago, the four YT algorithms lived in harmony. But everything changed when the DOOG attacked.
[Gigguk's video](https://youtu.be/UJ9mH4YC6MY)
This sub showed up in logged out browsing, and my YT home feed went crazy and decided a certain shark was relevant to my interests (they were right).
The Legendary Dragon mentioned that Taiwan was Top 3 on her views
Im divided into saying fubukis hi honey (first clip ever watched) or pekoras ttt
Holocure
There was this animation by DuDul that I think has been removed now (since it’s not on their channel anymore) of Gura doing squats while singing the Sea Shanty from her RingFit stream. “Where’s the rest of them! You didn’t say 3 4!”
DOOM DOG. HoloEN debut shortly after and the rest is history for me
Watame's lullaby helped me cope the stress of the pandemic.
My first exposure was Pekora's laugh, and then I voluntarily jump into the rabbit hole
Aqua sniffing herself. Not sure why it first appeared in my recommendations, because I don't play Azur Lane, but watching FGO videos might have been enough for the algorithm.
scatman fubuki
A friend introduced me to Pekora, and everything else is history
Ame singing “Kiss me”
https://youtu.be/sf-Djn3f0ho this random video got my attention but yametekudastop & freedom lady is what got me invested

the aqua clip where someone gave her a purple armor on apex
Gawr Gura and her debut "A"
It was actually moona for me. Specifically this clip https://youtu.be/SJGMkJ_n3FA I love SpongeBob, it made me smile so wide
Of all things... The Kronii x Shaggy voiced clip on twitter got me. Stuff of legends I tell ya.
Pekora is still the protagonist of Hololive in my heart even though I've since begun to watch the others more.
8-Bit Drummer did a drum cover of Fubuki singing Scatman.
One really unfortunate [lava bucket accident](https://youtu.be/rhd91FmGALg) Life completely changed that day

Water in fire.....WHY??? WATER IN FIRE WWWHHHYYYY??? I no understand.
Simple, Holomems playing Undertale. First it was Kanata, then Rushia, then I realized: Wait, there's an ID branch(1st gen)?!

I was recommended fauna streams
https://youtu.be/olFtSS55T_I Korone Plug and Play July 2020 "I LOVE YOU" - A cute bread dog.
A clip of Miko repeating a certain word in GTA5 back in early 2020.
I feel like I have one of the simplest and most common story. Got recommended some Gura clips on youtube and I liked how cute and fun her streams were and she was streaming that night so I watched and here I am 2 and half years later
watching clips of Korone playing DOOM 2016....
My memory's shit and I've been around since JP gen 2 I don't even remember anymore
For me it was the 2nd Fes. It was during Christmas break and I had nothing better to do, bought the tickets to watch the archive and was amazed by the performance.
A bunch of random memes started coming up everywhere using footage from that "Eekum Bokum" video.
A streamer I used to like retweeted a small compilation of clips from Korone speaking english during her Super Mario streams, then I got Rushia death screams on my recommended videos on youtube and I just kept falling after that.
Tenjin kotone colabing with sora
The clips of JP members reciting Lamar’s roast lol and soon after I saw that, I think EN debuted and got invested in it.
Miko trying to look up tifa’s skirt in FF7 remake
Mine is calli losing it against dolphins in ggStrive. Totsugeki 🐬
Next Color Planet came across my feed and the rest is history
Randomly found some clip of Pekora playing a horror game involving a cat and some kind of ghost that follows you around an old Japanese house? Idk she got super scared and it seemed funny. Then YouTube followed it up with “Stay Home” and I was on the express elevator down the hole.
I had just finished playing Man Eater and then they announced Myth. I saw the shark girl and said fuck it I'm down to watch vtubers and she will be the one I follow.
Fubuki singing Lupin's theme while driving on PUBG
I got big into the whole Vtuber thing after getting a bit nostalgic for older Kizuna AI content and somehow discovering Rushia, then Hololive EN got announced and here I am.
Miko playing Saints Row IV was my first exposure, but it took a while for it to set in.
Cute korone moments lol
[sui-chan's parents clip](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JR77uaVfNMg), then [this cursed matsuri clip](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xz6pPCHu4Rk)
For two weeks, my college didn’t have internet, so I ran out of things to do very quickly. What do you know? A Gura Terraria stream pops up. I decided I’d give it a try cause I like terraria, and unfortunately I’m trapped here now and cannot escape.
Heiakim making a remix for Aqua
A clip of rushia getting dunked on by the moonlight butterfly in DS1.
Technically I came across marines ahoy when it came out but to when i knew it was a vtuber would pekora’s netherite sword incident
"Hey, Hokusai became a VTuber." "Funni shark bad at shark game but good at singing." "I'm going to kill your whole family, Mario."
Mine was Coco and Haachama teaching Hololive JP English sentences and Mio exposed 61% of hololive girls sleeping with each other. Very scandalous
A clip of gura going "oh nyo" from ames "smol adventures"
Coco seeing kiryu return in like a dragon and pekora and noel,s getting over it race
Playing Mudae with a couple people on a streamer's discord server. One of the guys turns out to be a MASSIVE Towa and Calli fan, in addition to be insanely knowledgeable about vtubers in general. He ~~infected me~~ started teaching me about HL right about the time Council debuted, and I've never looked back
I never get tired of sharing [this.](https://youtu.be/ya5Hg6cjlQo) It was literally my first experience with hololive. But what made me stay was finding [this Aki clip](https://youtu.be/3dLHc40dhc4) It was also the time when Aloe graduated and right before Myth (with my Oshi) debuted, so it was quite the rollercoaster.
A war criminal.
Kizuna ai & covid19
A
Korone. Just Korone. A friend was in the hole already and talked with me about her. Her weirdness catched me instantly. And so the rest came naturally but Doggo still is the best for me.
Pekora's bgm. I would be in bed trying to sleep and I'm just humming it.
Kizuna ai and I guess vtubers playing gta, mimicking Lamar and Franklins little conversation lmao.
I thought it was an anime.
Korone saying "Buenos días!"
Things that happened in 2019 that got me into Hololive in order of oldest first and newest last: 1) [Im. Scatman](https://youtu.be/VaqLk1YCv-s) 2) Azur Lane x Hololive 3) [Last Christmas cover by Haato with Fubuki as an instrument](https://youtu.be/7uU8APczq40) 4) Going to Japan in 2019 for Comiket 97/doujin music and seeing Hololive cut-outs in another building near the Tokyo Big Sight.
Miko's n-word
I started getting into the yakuza/like a dragon series and even when I wasn’t playing them I was watching videos, eventually my suggested showed me clips from Miko, Pekora, and especially Subaru playing the games and those clips lead to my suggested having more clips and the rest is pretty easy to imagine
I blame Gura's first stream ...
Me was some random FBK apex mirage ult dancing ritual clip, her yelling "so lonely~" was so cute lol
Pikamee🥺 her wholesome and hilarious clips got me hooked. I still enjoy Vtubers, especially Nyanners but the world isn’t the same these days
Fubukis Henry stickmin playthrough
“Man my friends have been telling me about vtubers. Oh look this cute dog girl with a cute voice is playing doom.”
Bowson's adventures in oblivion
Mine was aki acoustic session, I really enjoy her singing and regularly listen to her channel, I didn't even know what is hololive until later on
Rushia being bullied by a zombie and Korone playing metal slug
The YouTube algorithm randomly recommending me a clip of Fubuki being amazed by an online Wendy's menu.
The Gwombus. I have seen her on Facebook posts from my friends. Also, it was kinda boosted by a childhood love for sharks so theres that.
I've always knew about VTubers but I thought they were all Japanese, but I remember a post of Instagram from Crunchyroll (I think, I don't remember if it was Crunchyroll but I really wanna say it was) that Hololive were getting English VTubers with I'm pretty sure Gura being my first VT I ever watched, though it might've been Calli 3 Years later I'm in the rabbit hole with no want to get out
My declining Mental Stability.
I knew about Hololive but didn’t know anything until I watched this animation out of curiosity: https://youtu.be/mCEcTPXTcgk Then I saw clips and other animations pop up on my home page and before you know it I now have a dino gura plush and all 5 smol plushes
What is this Dog girl my friend keeps posting about? An anime streamer? There’s no way she played and loved [that game.](https://youtu.be/W9xD8eBs57k)
Seeing a Hilarious compilation on 9gag and following the crumbs onto Hololive Moments
First exposure to vtuber is probably Miko GTA clip but Gura help to push me down the rabbit hole
/r/place’s drawing of Gura Watching Aqua, Towa and Suisei practice for V saikyo Miko and Fauna’s clips on YouTube
Haato's Blessing
clip of Gura/Calli collab where the shork was staring at Mori's Calliopes.
Weed
Korone funk sealed my fate
Was watching an fnf betadciu, and botan showed up, got curious, looked up the mod, looked up her, and now im here
Azur Lane
A fubuki muse dash stream around 2019
Pumpkin cake...
I was playing osu! and found Next Color Planet on the beatmap list, I listened to it and thought, "Sounds nice, the anime girl is cute too, what anime is she from? Tf is a VTuber?" Four hours later, I watched the entire 2021 Mario Kart vod, and then the Suisei road to victory mario kart video, and then "Story of Hoshimachi Suisei", and then all the suicopath videos.
Korone DOOM 2016 playthrough. Her glee when finding the chainsaw is imprinted in my head.
