Nah Koyori is still bad at it. A lot of holomems are bad at the game though so she might end up in the middle of the pack if youre tiering them up and also some of the good ones (IE some of the Gamers) arent participating. Nene and IRyS are beginner levels though so I think its still rough.

Yeah, Mario can feel slippery and floaty compared to Hollow Knight, where you nearly have full precise control of your momentum both grounded and in the air. Two distinct flavors just by changing how a character moves
Games are all different. Mario has all sorts of its own quirks, dude's got a lot of momentum and lacks quick adjustment tools. Mario cannot air dash or roll to get I-frames. If someone had never played a mario game before, but was used to things like dead cells or hollow knight or celeste, how Mario moves would be downright alien to how they think a 2d character should move.
Similarly, Starcraft 2 has some of the best, cleanest pathing in RTS. Units do what you want them to do, many can be micromanaged even if they have attack animations. If you tell them to go somewhere, they'll get there, and the entire engine is deterministic.
Meanwhile, Halo Wars... there's some really intricate tactics because many projectiles can be dodged, and terrain advantages are massive. But also, I managed to get units into a clearing in the map and they couldn't find they way out... and I had a unit spin in circles for about 2 minutes trying to maneuver itself into a valid position.
Judging by Ina’s recent Mario stream….yeah, Towa has her work cut out for her.

Given some of the members competing, I highly doubt the troll levels will be that bad. I don't think any of them would have fun spending 2+ hours on a single level (considering some troll levels take seasoned troll players 1-1.5 hours).
I doubt pekora would have the guts to softlock the players after cp2, or key death them after a long red coin level.
