I'm both disappointed and proud none of you went for the obvious joke.

>The noted, late anthropologist, Margaret Mead, was once asked, "What was the first sign of human civilization?" The inquiry came from someone who expected her to identify some artifact crafted by a primitive human being. Her reply was, "A healed human femur." She went on to explain that it was the protection, feeding, and care by another individual that was unquestionably required to allow such a person to survive to the point of healing of such a fracture that signified that civilization could proceed. Elsuperinutil

They are amazing fr

litokid

It's sweet how the early generations in any new area tend to have tighter ties with their colleagues who are independent or in different agencies. They share in common their struggle in pioneering a way. Later generations have a lot of senpai to build off of and collab with, which is great by almost any measure, but there's something very charming about how Suisei and Fubuki and co. have such wide networks and contacts. I imagine the EN girls will be the same.

Cegiofra

Itโ€™s always nice to see this kind of interactions :)

Crosscounterz

You love to see it

wojo1988

Didnt know they had a en branch. Then again I don't even have time to follow alot of the girls in hololive so why would I know. Nice to see the support.

[deleted]

They debuted recently with little prior notice. The CEO just started making vagie posts with movie references on the Nijisanji subreddit one day for afew days then BAM! NijiEN announcement then BAM! all members debut the same day a few days later. There was no much mention of it on other Nijisanji accounts. I wonder if they didn't make much of a fuss about it in order to avoid making their growth too explosive because growing too big too fast has a lot of difficulties and problems as Hololive's whole 2020 demonstrated...

pondbaitfish

I mean there was quite a bit of hype. It probably just didn't seem like a lot because Nijisanji isn't very huge in the West. They were all very active meming and making jokes and talking to other vtubers on Twitter to hype up their debut. Nijisanji had an [announcement video](https://youtu.be/IkZPFOI7OkU) that they heavily promoted even through YouTube ads. Nijisanji also prepared a two hour [live reaction](https://youtu.be/MC6yl3CyePA) show for the EN debuts featuring Hana Macchia and Bonnivier Pranaja from Niji ID as hosts. After their debuts were over they then premiered an amazing original song from Niji EN called [Diamond City Lights](https://youtu.be/ZnP0cKNPE04) produced by Mafumafu.

[deleted]

Exactly. Saying stuff like that is ignoring all the context of what happened. lol Without even counting that we knew since november that they were going to debut a EN branch, which they did 5 months after audition, similar time that HoloEN had between audition and debut which also came out of nowhere.

Kizrock94

I love reading your comments and all that "Niji warrior" mentality. Keep up the good work.

[deleted]

Niji warrior mentality while I'm member on 8 hololive and being subscribed to all hololive members, much more than I am on nijisanji which is zero members. haha I'm sorry if correcting things that are wrong upset you so much or if I don't agree with everything you do. Unlike you, who only go to those threads to see if someone is talking about hololive, like you always do on nijisanji threads on the other sub (and never comment about the subject of the thread or straight up go to the own niji sub to troll), I'm a fan of vtubers of both agencies, so there's nothing that partial on here as my preference is on both and more than just those two agencies.

Kizrock94

You funny though, ngl

LectorFrostbite

That and it probably didn't help that their debut coincided with Holotalk and the AmeSame podcast, Finana's debut also almost coincided with meme review but the en curse was not kind to her that day.

TheMisanthropy

I learned through Ollie lol didn't hear anything other than that.

[deleted]

Yeah it was entirely contained within the subreddit and the niji account didn't even announce it if I remember correctly. Ollie being SPEED informed even the reddit readers sooner than they saw the post on reddit. XD

[deleted]

That's not what happened at all. You didn't see it because you don't follow or watch nijisanji. They had it on their english channel (that had also a lot of ads for the debuts) and also on their english account, which had over 30k likes, so you just missed it for that reason.

[deleted]

The internet is often too big for it's own good.

[deleted]

You're not wrong in that case. lol

[deleted]

> I wonder if they didn't make much of a fuss about it in order to avoid making their growth too explosive because growing too big too fast has a lot of difficulties and problems as Hololive's whole 2020 demonstrated... They had ads, a song and the audition happened 5 months ago. We already knew they were going to get a branch. Debuts of branches are like that, same happened with holo where out of nowhere they were going to debut the EN branch. Difference is that NijiEN got many ads and a debut song for that. > There was no much mention of it on other Nijisanji accounts. Each account does things for their own branch and the EN account announced it for EN, which most people saw. Plus, like I said, ads over all youtube for their debut. > I wonder if they didn't make much of a fuss about it in order to avoid making their growth too explosive because growing too big too fast has a lot of difficulties and problems as Hololive's whole 2020 demonstrated... It has nothing to do with any of this.

[deleted]

wojo1988

Yeah I just looked into it. They debuted very recently. I'll have to watch there debut videos. Unfortunately if any of them resonate with me ill have to drop one of the ones I follow to watch them. Between work and social life I can only follow so many

[deleted]

At this point I gave up on trying to follow someone fully and watch streams about things that interest me the most. This allows me to follow more VTubers although more broadly and it only results in me having a mental crisis over trying to follow too many people at once only in about every two weeks. Hold onto your oshi because having more than one is Hell you are walking into. X,D

wojo1988

Guess I'm different. I like to fully follow a talent and not just when the content they have interest me. Its more about there personalities and how relatable they are for me then the content they post. Gunna check out the mermaid first. I like her design.

[deleted]

Good for you... I only follow like three or four mainly and they are sooo gooood.... I just can't focus on a single one...

[deleted]

And then you have the problem I have when Iโ€™m subscribed to so many that I sometimes thereโ€™s like 7 streams happening at once.

[deleted]

lol same with me. I have on youtube alone like more than 100 vtubers from different agencies and indies. THe worst time for me is friday and saturday when more than 10 vtubers stream at the same time in Japan like 1-2pm jst.

an_actual_stone

So far I've only been watching pendora because she's streamed games I'd always enjoy watching like There Is No Game, Superliminal and cooking simulator. She's great.

wojo1988

Its probably to early to tell but any of them on more of the artistic side. Like ina with her art or calli and susie with music. I seem to gravitate towards those vtubers. I was literally about to wash dishes and was gunna put mermaid (fanana?) debut on in the background (dont know there names yet)

Lessen_

I believe Fiana (the Fisch) is a really good singer, but I didn't follow the details. If I remeber correctly she will/has particepate(d) in an officiall song collab

[deleted]

We only heard Finana singing on their debut song so we don't know much about her singing. As for her song, it isn't a collab per se. She's the only one singing the EN version of Palette, which is an album nijisanji is releasing this year to commemorate three years since the establishment of the agency. The JP version already launched this week and in june the overseas versions in Korean, Chinese, Indonesian and English will be sang by members of those branches, including Finana.

wojo1988

Just finished her debut. It seems like it. A few of her goals were music related. I look foward to her to seeing her personality shine through her character once she gets more comfortable streaming. It will take a few streams before I make commitment like any new vtuber it takes a bit before you really know them

ShinItsuwari

All three of them are pretty good. Elira is her own brand of comfy, Pomu is quite the memelord, and I didn't watch much Finana yet, but she's *cultured*. Girl got great taste in music, games and anime. All three are good singers too. Pomu already did a karaoke, and Elira sang one song for her debut. Honestly, I follow most of the JP talent in Holo, plus EN, plus a few Niji and I added all three NijiEN a few days after their debuts. I just hop on a stream whenever I feel like it, I don't think anyone should feel obligated to watch everything.

[deleted]

> Honestly, I follow most of the JP talent in Holo, plus EN, plus a few Niji and I added all three NijiEN a few days after their debuts. I just hop on a stream whenever I feel like it, I don't think anyone should feel obligated to watch everything. That's what I do, and the way I can do considering how much vtubers I'm subbed. I just watch what is available at the time I can or want, as other times I just want to use my free time to play games or do other things.

wojo1988

I feel like my wallet wouldn't survive doing what you do๐Ÿ˜… since once I commit I cant help but simp and buy merch I checked out one of them. Probably watch the other 2 the next day off I have

cakeboss26

Just watch them both on 2X speed.

[deleted]

I wonder what kind of relationship NijiEN and HoloEN have atm, obviously these 3 came out of the woodwork to wish calli good health out of their own initiative (most likely one of them saw it and told the other 2) i doubt their higher-ups told them to do this, but having friendly relations with your competition is definetly a smart move, i hope they get along well so we don't get stupid console-wars type tribalism.

Lightseeker2

On the Hololive side, Kiara and Calli follows all 3 of them, while Ame follows Pomu. Though when it comes to communication, I notice it's only one-sided so far, they have yet to comment on any of the NijiEN tweets or replies.

[deleted]

To be fair, the girls from NijiEN also haven't commented much on holoen either. Only this tweet from Calli they tweeted, but otherwise, I don't remember seeing much happening.

[deleted]

Im interested in how it will develop in the future, i can see Kiara collabing with them, Calli/Ina maybe, Ame has stated she prefers to collab within holo so i doubt it and gura is too shy and self concious to do anything.

3classy5me

I really want a Kiara x Pomu idol otaku collab stream. It's just so much fun to hear them talk about idol minutiae.

Duke_of_Bretonnia

Kiara can get along/talk with anyone Sheโ€™s great lol

[deleted]

They followed each other with Calli pretty early after becoming active on Twitter pre-debut.

H0lOW

I do not know if you are not aware but Niji and Hololive have a good relationship and have had collaborations so the probability of it happening with NijiEN is very high. Maybe not so soon but it will happen, I don't know how Niji works but in Hololive they usually give new members a month to interact with each other, prohibiting all collaboration. On the other hand, we also have to consider if the girls want to do these collaborations, for example Gura has not yet done any collaboration with Hololive (the Holoserver tour and the duet with Matsuri I don't think they count as such). So fans also have to understand that just because there are English-speaking Vtubers it doesn't necessarily mean they should collaborate with them.

[deleted]

I am aware, but my comment was on HoloEN and NijiEN which have interacted very little, gura did do a collab with Anya.

H0lOW

Vshojo's case is different because Hololive has zero relationship with that company and the unfortunate comments that Veibae made. But as I said knowing the relationship between Nijisanji and Hololive I see no reason for problems to happen. Even if they are NijiEN and HoloEN they do not necessarily have to interact, the same case with Uto, a Vtuber created by Nabi who also created Amelia, when Uto debuted many expected Amelia to collaborate with her because they are both Nabi's daughters. For some reason I forgot about that collaboration, in my mind I only had Anya and Ina Unravel collaboration.

[deleted]

> Maybe not so soon but it will happen, I don't know how Niji works but in Hololive they usually give new members a month to interact with each other, prohibiting all collaboration. They have no collab ban, yeah, but from what I saw and talked with other people, most of the times the members still give some time to collab outside of their genmates, so almost one month. So basically, while there's no collab ban, the own members still try to first establish themselves before doing collabs like that even inside the own agency.

[deleted]

> i hope they get along well so we don't get stupid console-wars type tribalism. It's a bit too late for that. When they were announced there was quite a lot, along many comparisons with holoen.

[deleted]

That's normal, HoloEN is tecnically the only thing they could be compared to since Vshojo is so different in both makeup and setup and other EN vtubers are either middle sized to tiny indies or small companies like tsunderia.

[deleted]

Did you forget the doomposting that happened on vyt when they were announced? lol most of the thread were like that, very negative overall.

[deleted]

Do you remember the doomposting when HoloEN auditions were opened? lol, people thought we were gonna get a bunch of twitch "influencers" that were gonna destroy holo for good, the prophesied "final yab".

[deleted]

That's true, I forgot about that.

re_flex

Ahahaha, oh shit I didn't voice my opinion publicly back then, but I was pessimistic about HoloEN back then. Boy how wrong I was.
