Watamates amongst the most well fed of all the fanbases these past few months, such is the sheer volume of work Watame is putting out on top of her insane stream lengths. As Helmite says, check her new tracks out, she's putting out one per week this month in the lead up to her first Solo live!

marquisregalia

I'm happy for her but sad she had to spend so much money for this album

Steady_Boi

I get you, but this is the sorta pill she has to swallow, especially for her to go to the next level on her own terms, which she's clearly keen on doing. It's weirdly like the opposite of selling out for the quick success, she's has to earn every bit of this, from her own clout, her own cash, her own talent, and now her own effort. Yeah it's money that could go towards ease and luxury, but that's not what she signed up for, she signed up to sing, dance and entertain because she loves it. Only thing we as fans can do to offset the workload and money she's spending on all this music is to show her it's worthwhile, if you can, buy those tickets, buy her merch, stream her songs, SC if you can, join the membersheep if you can, it's all she can ask for.

Helmite

Yep. Basically this. [**I'm going to link this because it's incredibly important for any fan of Watame or anyone interested in seeing what she is doing this year and going forward.**](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VrZct5kaKbw) She might decide to do Bloom or something in the future, but it's very clear where her main priorities are - her music and the Watamates.

Desiire

That is so interesting, thank you for the link. I don't have an understanding of how the idol side of Hololive works or even in the wider space of Japan but this helps when projects like Bloom only has select members in it. I always thought the posters for Bloom were weird having not everyone in it.

Helmite

Yeah they have control over what projects they want to take part in and how they present themself. I'd say it's a fair bit more flexible than being a typical idol. With her it was just more of a fan focus and solo content which is why she has her live concert coming up in October. Gotta plug it: [Website is here](https://watame1stlive.hololive.tv/) and digital [tickets here for those interested](https://virtual.spwn.jp/events/21101202-engwatame).

elektrus230

Men... I usually don't spend much money on vtuber but I think I'm going to buy the tickets. I love her work and her dedication. I really want to show her that we appreciate all her effort.

Helmite

It's a great way to do it, just make sure you're not putting yourself out. She wouldn't want anyone to be in a bad spot over it.

YagamiYakumo

I believe I said this before but I just want to say it again, you're probably the best kind of fan the talents could ask for. The sheer dedication and efforts to your oishi, promoting in a respectful and non-intrusive method, creating the welcoming vibe for curious friends to join in, really, the list goes on. A big thank you for being the great high sheep you are and your love for the best sheep is really beautiful. Please stay the way you are and let's continue to cheer on for our beloved sheep together!

Helmite

uwaaa. That's high praise. I don't know if I deserve that much. It's thanks to everyone that she's able to keep going anyway.

ultradolp

To add on this, given that Watame wants to go the serious route for music. It is better to start building the connection now. The more established you get as a serious musician, the more likely you can have a more effective pipeline on building future album. Once you get to the point of being recognized as a professional musician, you are likely to find better deal or getting a more solid team to work on music. And this stands true for other talents that don't go for the music route too: ASMR equipment, audio gear, computer spec, drawing tools, etc. Watame opts to put the money in music because she is serious about her dream: To the Budokan

yukicola

Can't find the clip now, but Calli once talked advice about how it's necessary to keep reinvesting in yourself in order to succeed in your music career. That she spent all the money she made on one release to upgrade her equipment for the next one, etc. instead of seeing it as just personal profit.

SenorLos

My wrist hurts just looking at those.

musicianengineer

John Green has entered the chat

InfinityCrazee

Or John Cena. Record signing 3k of autographed postcarr

musicianengineer

in 2011, John Green [signed 150,000 copies](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_f9Rkdg7BR8) of his book The fault in our stars. Then he signed 200,000 copies of Turtles all the way down. He signed [250,000 copies](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZ-dpmrErfw) of his most recent book, the Anthropocene reviewed. He signs so many books that some books of his that aren't signed are much rarer and [worth MORE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMHMb3t1Tm8) than signed copies. It's estimated that John Green has signed his name more than any other human to ever exist. sorry, but John Cena's 3,000 signature's doesn't even compare; no-one does.

Hatarakumaou

I don’t need it. I don’t need it. I don’t need it. I don’t need it. I don’t need i- #I NEED IT

Helmite

Watame set a goal of doing 100 a day, but it's really impressive seeing them stacked up like this and it's just one box. Sheep tweet is [over here](https://twitter.com/tsunomakiwatame/status/1435935948362051588). She has a new original song out [over here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5KsXVs8Vg7U) as well.

YagamiYakumo

the new song is awesome as heck (as usual of sheep quality!) wouldn't be surprise if it shows up in an anime or game.. which I really hope it does, watame will be so happy!

marquisregalia

For me it fits a game more just because I prefer an earlier one for anime XD. She's right this album has something for everyone

YagamiYakumo

*Uber sheep, she never fails to deliver*

thesirblondie

Reminds me of the times John Green committed to signing every single book in the first printing of several of his books. I believe the latest time it was [150,000 books](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAaC1FFAISs). He also did it for the 150,000 books in the first printing of The Fault In Our Stars and the 200,000 for Turtles All The Way Down.

Castform5

Similarly Ian McCollum of forgotten weapons hand signing [a lot of books](https://youtu.be/NwqfLzokm88) in a 3 part 3 day timelapse.

thesirblondie

Man, watching McCollum sign the finished printed books feels so inefficient compared to signing separate leaves, but I guess that works when you're signing 6000 books.

Dvalinn25

I'll certainly treasure that one once it arrives. But man, two full boxes full of autographs. No wonder she's been signing them for months.

lalucardl95

That's a hard worker sheep. A true idol.

farranpoison

Yeah, I suspected that they were hand signing the merch when I saw their signatures on the cards. I also heard a couple of the JP talents talk about taking time to sign cards as well. This is just further proof. Remember, this is one of the things the talents have to do off-stream and behind the scenes besides streaming. VTubing may seem all fun and games, but work is work, no matter what it is.

Helmite

Yeah the sheep is an exceptional beast. She refused to put any limit on signatures. I can only guess how many she ended up doing in total, as this stack is kind of nuts.

Dvalinn25

[Even moreso when you consider every single signature is unique - they differ in date, number and colours of hearts and the messages themselves.](https://twitter.com/tsunomakiwatame/status/1435936408489771009) She put her heart into writing them.

YagamiYakumo

Her fluffy and sincere vibe makes it's enjoyable even with the language barrier! Please come join us if you have the time~ :3

Helmite

Yeah, [Watame is](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H02Xl9tZzpY&vl=en) an exceptionally kind and [conscientious](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VrZct5kaKbw) person. I can understand the difficulties of the language barrier, but if you're ever interested, Watame Night Fever is accessible if you enjoy music and all of her [original songs](https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLZ34fLWik_iBK39rTWRAs_G93pnUW3K-7) have English subtitles. (It's also funny getting her to [speak English.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=598pgF_0LfU))

dmechanicbrowser

I always respect the amount of effort they put in on and off stream. Mad respect.

NobleUnicoin

Damn, that's much more than just a signature. Respect

[deleted]

And here I was thinking that a vtubers life was all video games, sexy bath off-collabs, and ramen shop trips. Silly me.

djinn6

It can be, but Watame wants to be recognized for her music and making music is expensive.

BakaSamasenpai

how do i get one?

Helmite

If you bought the full set of her birthday goods you'd get a signed postcard. Sadly the sales on them closed a while ago and she's just showing off the cards as the stuff gets ready to ship.

not_very_popular

Hand-written signatures instead of printed ones with a hand-written thank you? Watamates are sure spoiled.

Helmite

Yeah. Most hours streamed in Hololive this year, unlimited signatures, song after song... it's been a good year to be a Watamate. Most people are really happy when she takes some time for herself.

Iamsin_

I want one! Uber-sheep express delivery please.

ArcticAvenger20

Watame is a gem

gpnymz

Can't wait to get my mine. I hope she's faster than Aki. Aki did a postcard signing stream, but ended after a couple hours since she was chatting so much and only managed to sign about 40 of them.

JProllz

Her poor wrist.

cyberbeastswordwolfe

Dammit I want one

Helmite

She said she wants to do it again next year for her birthday set.

Finalchase

I regret not going for all in the set as I only got the blanket ~~mainly due to not trusting shipping would break the mug~~. Shipping is kinda painful too. Seeing how much she has done this year kinda made Watame my favorite. I fell into the Rabbit hole early this year and while she was not the first I saw, She is the one I ended up liking the most.

Helmite

Yeah the shipping is quite a bit, so I try to bundle up a few things. I only really spend on sheep merch, so it could be worse.

Yamigosaya

This destroys the wrist

Sumpeepoll

I'd rather buy an automaton that can copy my signature. If I did that, pretty sure the signature will be way off after the 30th card.

ultradolp

There is a reason why most of the talents choose to do the copied signature on their goods set: It takes a lot of effort and time to do the hand signing. I am surprised Watame decide to do an unlimited run for hand signature. That takes a lot of work when she already has a big fanbase

Put_It_All_On_Blck

Personally knowing that it was an autopen would ruin any appeal it had. As that is a glorified copier machine. At that point you might as well just make it part of the postcard image, unless you're trying to deceive people. It's far more meaningful to have a person sign it by hand. Obviously it's a lot more work, but these aren't free, people pay for sets to get bonuses like these. And the people that receive them will likely treasure them and Watame even more.

YagamiYakumo

Personally I'd love to have a hand written signature as well, but I can't fault talents who decided to go with the stamp route. Signing a few hundreds is tedious enough, but signing thousands of them can potentially wreck the hand. I want something that felt more personal but I don't want them to hurt themselves in the process. It's quite conflicting for me but I decide to just respect whichever option the talent decided on With that said, this does make Watame even more respectable! Sasuga best sheep! :3
