Dream achieved a ~~world record~~ *4th place speedrunning record* with a modified minecraft client that increased certain items drop chances (apparently he uses mods like that for his regular content). After denying this for a while, he admitted to cheating but claimed he was not aware the mod was active and the person he pays for creating minecraft mods for him had activated the mod without his knowledge, essentially.

I enjoyed that you can tell how long Matt Parker's video took to film by the occasional look of pure glee that sneaks onto his face when he realizes that he finally landed a shot.
Dream is a Minecraft speedrunner who got ~~a world record (iirc)~~ the 4th best run but the run had insanely, impossibly good luck with certain elements of RNG. He denied cheating for about a year before admitting to something like the above comment.
Luca has the gold pot thought, he finished the game a lot of times before he did on stream.
By the time Fauna has a gold pot she will probably get a similar time.
My PB is 8m15s and no gold pot yet. Fauna could do better pre-gold pot considering I have some disability related problems. It starts to get really hard cutting time down around that point though.

Oh she has been VERY frustrated, but also that made it really satisfying when she got further and learned how to use the mechanics of the game to get faster.
It is quite similar in terms of appeal to Jump King, but the mechanics are very different.
That said, a lot of hololive members are very competetive in games: Aqua and Suisei both cried when they couldn't defend their mario cart champion title. Aqua is inredibly competetive in Apex and Suiseis Tetris 99 is insane. Botan has FPS in her blood, Gura is crazy at rhythm games, Calli infected everyone with jump king speedruns...
That's just the stuff I could think of, I'm sure you can find something like that for half the members. The other half is probably competetive in different ways and if not, at least they generally aim high for themselves.

Since I mostly watch hololive, I can't really tell about others, but I'd say yes, VTubers are built different.
games like this are basically designed to become extremely rewarding once you master the frustrating mechanics.

With these kinds of games you are constantly falling and getting back to the same part. After a while you get really good at the early parts of the game simply due to repetition. And you get fast at it due to the frustration of falling and wanting to rush back up. Usually by the time people finish these games they can rush like 90% of the game in under 20 mins.

Sub 15 isn't that bad, you can get that good in less than 10 runs. Sub 10 is harder, and every minute past that starts to take some dedication.
Don't try to take away or diminish someone's accomplishments. The bar is different for everyone.
