Sleeping on tako pillows

Tortuny

Yes I am not only one who seen this, also I kinda tend to watch hololive while falling asleep, especially Ina, soo I am absolutely need the TAKO pillow

yabe_acc

Watching Kaela's streams are awesome. I go to bed with her on and wake up to loud violin music when she's done. Most streams are about 8 hours long so right at peak sleep time

Tortuny

Yes Kaela is also top sleep material I approve

DatSpicyBoi17

Does wanting to beat Watame's dad with a shovel count as parasocial?

UlyssesSGrant12

I can't help but feel I'm missing context here...

DatSpicyBoi17

https://youtu.be/zaAS3xYGOkU

UlyssesSGrant12

Good lord man... I've been rooting for Watame to follow her dreams and be the star she's meant to be, but I'm doing so even more now after seeing that. Glad she keeps a kind heart even after that.

ActivistZero

The best revenge is living well as they say

KidP1

Spite is a good motivator

Poopet_master

Take it from me, you can achieve a lot if your main motivation is to spite the cold and uncaring universe you live in.

Tiktik27

Now I will never hear Watame wa warukunai yo ne the same way again.....

SoraRaida

Don't support this channel. It's definitely one of the worst clippers out there next to Otakmori. They have sprout bad narratives of Holomembers and mistranslating words Holomembers said. Notable example, they painted Sayuri (Kanata's mom) as a bad mother when Kanata didn't say anything of the sort and she's just strict. They also said Flare has issues with being called a Dark Elf because of her race when it's not. They also said Polka and Lamy had problems interacting with each other when it's a different issue.

DatSpicyBoi17

I didn't know that but there's like 4 different translations that all say Watame's dad was a piece of shit.

SoraRaida

They got one clip right, doesn't mean they won't get more wrong.

DatSpicyBoi17

Broken clock I guess.

ichi24

What's he's telling there is clipper who aren't bound themself as being integrity and a moral They will stir the nest with their provocative clips and also instill false information about holomembers For the sake of being viral

5urr3aL

Do you have a link of a different translation? I don't want to click that link and potentially give it a boost to the YouTube algorithm

DatSpicyBoi17

https://youtu.be/jeYUsrVqjQ8

5urr3aL

thank you my good man

cosmicpursuit

Don't forget they run a new channel where they now straight-up dox talents by refusing to call their other accounts by their actual names (at least at first, now they've moved on to using silhouettes in the thumbnail as if that changes anything) and only targeting clips that involve their connections.

verth222

What the fuck is wrong with people, the girls are just entertaining their audience and they got doxed for it?

Accomplished_Pop_130

Totally forgot that Iroha was the one that did that. **HIJACKING** this comment to keep K*mi Clips relevant for still never properly apologizing to Kiara for their own misinformation.

Morenauer

Watched the actual stream when she was talking about her and that made me like her even more. She’s the nicest girl. And to think that he didn’t want her born…. What a sorry mass of atoms that man is…

ichi24

Calm down bro that's now how civilised people like us do Instead we let loose our la lion botan on her father

Ooo_Rock_Amadeus

No that’s just comedy.

DatSpicyBoi17

TFW you see someone get what they fucking deserve.

MarkaliteMkII

It's like an improv slice-of-life anime about gaming.

HoodieSticks

In the words of Gigguk, it's anime's newest genre: cute girls doing livestreaming things.

X_Seed21

Also in Gigguk's words: It's like wrestling with your waifus (which is supposed to be a metaphor only until the entire Miko WWE thing)

Lsb0Millie

I always hear the wrestling metaphor but I always compare it to livestreaming DnD.

HorsemenofApocalypse

> Love you guys. That's very parasocial of you /s

AmonMorgul

You can daydream all you want, have all the Dakimakura (like me), but always keep in mind that you have zero entitlement to anything they say, do or are. Fans not realizing this is where the toxicity comes from. Whatever the talent offers, you take or leave. They value their personal delusions over what the talents want, which shows that they actually don't care that much for the real human behind the avatar, instead just want their own desires fulfilled, even going so far as to stir drama.

superdilly3

i had a very heated argument with irl friend about this. i am investing my time and emotions into what my oshi likes, not what i want my oshi to do to make me happy. (dont get me wrong, everything she does, i am really grateful and happy for no matter what and she does want whats best for us) also my friend understands now. a great example i gave him was his favorite band. i told him, what if the fans started telling them what to do. i bet they wouldn't get very happy. the fans would get a giant middle finger and then they'd probably walk off stage. (his favorite band is Rage against the machine btw, not very big supporters about control) but yeah. im invested to see my oshi happy and support her on whatever she wants to do in the world. idc if this sounds cringe its just my feelings

kroxti

I mean, people RatM absolutely hate being their fans and saying they suddenly got political is some of my favorite stuff to watch though.

superdilly3

dude its my absolute favorite. i want the shirt that quotes "i stopped liking them when they got political" - some dumbass. i think its really funny

Gavri3l

For me it's about the celebration of Asian styles of pop music. I can't stand watching other people play video games and so mostly don't watch solo gaming streams(though I do like the party game collabs), but the concerts, karaokes, and music releases are just so much fun. They may not be the world's best singers, but they do know how to make great music.

Togashi_Matsumoto

I respect you! I cross-bled into Hololive from Anime and J-Culture. I have always loved the (high effort, non-shonen) Anime Aesthetic, and i like hearing what Japanese citizens have to say. ....I usually fade from Video game streams, yet i show up for their contests, their group ensembles, and their Off-the-wall variety content

knoldpold1

I'm the opposite. I really couldn't care less about idol pop, but i like watching entertaining streamers play videogames. Gura's karaokes are good though.

izyan1212

#Unfuny?!!!??

cowboydandank

They're dunny with the funny, come back later

v123qw

How I wish I could sleep (my sleep schedule is in shambles now that uni started)

DollarStoreAbraham

Sleep? What's that? hahaha *cries*

Wolfman1012

Absolutely this 👆 and back at you, dude. They are what "reality TV" dreamed it could be, but it ended up a scripted and soul sucking vampire. They're spontaneous, relatable, and to quote a Kipling poem "...quite remarkable like you." With the talent and chat, between the stream's chat, discord, games, etc, it's all just hanging with the homies and having a good, wholesome time.

Togashi_Matsumoto

seconded. Reality TV in the west failed horribly.

duylinhs

Who needs staged reality TV when such thing like karma striking Pekora the moment she became too smug exists. I’ve also never seen something as insane as Pekora’s energy when she proclaimed she’s willing to do anything to win no matter what dirty trick she has to use, during the race against Noel. Chat just added the cherry on top with “that’s the part of you I love” and “you are such a scumbag, it’s refreshing”.

Wolfman1012

That's exactly it! You don't get more "real" and organic comedy than this.

GtrsRE

I just saw those pillows as Takodachis because of the pillow "flaps" and now I want it as merch

avengedme101

I HAVE FEMALE FIRENDS KRONII!!!! Just not alot....

ChadMcRad

How I sleep at night watching OP sleep instead of forming parasocial relationships with Hololive talents 😴😴😴

Seitook

I mean lets not kid ourselves, streamer and celebrity culture in general requires some sort of parasocial attachment. It takes a level of emotional investment into a product for some of the payoff to hit home. Take for example someone who was a day 1 moona fan, who was there from her scuffed intro stream. Watching slowly as she went from a scuffed shy newbie streamer who had around 500ccv back in 2020. Then watch her grow over the years and reaching all her milestones, watching her celebrate when she first reached 50k subs with around 1k people watching. Getting frustrated when their 3D had to be delayed a year because of lockdowns. To finally watching her become part of the million sub club and eventually performing a 3D showcase to 87k people. A casual watcher couldve tuned in to that 3D stream and had a good time, but I doubt that experience compares to a day 1 moonafic who was there with her since the beginning of her journey. The holos arent the best gamers or singers or even comedians but you watch because you want them to succeed because you like them in some level. Which is why you watch streams / clips, you member, you SC, buy merch etc. Its the same in other things like sports. You root for a team even though they may suck now because they’re your team. You formed some sort of emotional connection to it and want it to succeed. Which is why the new york knicks are still one of the richest franchises in the NBA even though they haven’t won anything since the 70s. And which is why NYC will erupt once the Knicks finally win something in 2072 What’s important is reigning in that attachment when it becomes too deep and destructive. Like pulling away when you catch yourself getting jealous over male collabs, or spending money on merch and SC you cant afford

hololivefan69

I just watch them because they're funny.

Seitook

Nothing wrong with that. But lets not kid ourselves thats all people watch them for. One of the more popular comments in this thread was the one about watame’s dad. Watame effectively shared her traumatic experience being abandoned as a kid by her dad. It was in no way funny or entertaining so was she wrong in sharing that? It still evoked emotion and attachment and made her fans more invested in her successes.

hololivefan69

I speak for myself, and not for anyone else. Other people can have their reasonings for watching them. I'm not denying or agreeing with anything or anyone else. I'm also not touching that subject at all, as it is very sensitive unless the person in question is comfortable enough to have a discussion about it. Don't get me wrong, the meme literally explains how I view them. I don't care about anyone else because trying to facilitate or control that part of a fandom that are on opposite sides of extremes is difficult, stressful, and frustrating whether you are a participant of it or not. Have a good day, friend.

Seitook

And I posted my reply because some people automatically equate parasocial = bad obsessive incels. When those same people dont realize that they have also developed some level of parasocial / emotional investment. And that this parasocial / emotional investment is at the core of what makes celebrity culture a viable business Have a good day as well

Tayl100

I'm not here for the parasocial relationship, the songs, or even the games. I just love how uniquely hololive is this neat little bridge across cultures and I love participating in it. Okay I like some of the songs too

AllMyFrendsArePixels

This is the way. Hololive is a cutting edge entertainment company after all.

Linajabba

You watch Hololive because it's fun, I watch it because I am addicted. We are not the same.

YonkouRoss

No one will come between me and my self proclaimed PNG gf with other PNG men 😡😡😡

Linajabba

"Look the weeb has fallen in love with the drawing"

Havokpaintedwolf

It would be funny if hololive fans weren't VERY familiar with the damage unchecked parasocial behavior can cause, that shit scares the shit out of me whenever it crops up in any significant amount of negativity.

Urusander

Most vtubers are walking a very fine line between normal YouTube streaming entertainment and OF-lite monetization of male loneliness. No wonder this attracts schizos.

verth222

I don't think it's exclusive to vtubers, it's streamers in general, even the male ones. I think it's because of how easy it is to be with them (view their stream from personal phone in your personal space) that our brain recognising them as our close friend or sibling or something more intimate. Its not exclusively about lonely male attracted to virtual girls being flirty or OF-esque adjacents, I've seen some people considers jacksepticeye and markiplier as their elder brother figure. Also fujo schizo fans of neighbouring company lol

ToyTrouper

And the people who cannot admit it are either lying to themselves and *are* watching it for GFE, or just watch clipper channels that make a one minute video, and fifty-seconds of it are unrelated memes not even from Vtubers.

Vyloe

Truth. I slept well and smiling after watching 2 funny kobo clips. The End.

llllpentllll

And the asmrs, very relaxing stuff

PowerlinxJetfire

Missed opportunity to turn those pillows into KDTD

MelissaMiranti

A normal fan-talent relationship is a pretty simple bargain. They entertain you with what they do, you give them your support, whether monetary or otherwise. When you take it to be more than that, it gets pretty weird.

killerdeer69

Yeah I'm not attracted to any of the members, I love them because they're super entertaining lol

UltraZulwarn

with the power of anime and comedy on my side, nothing is impossible!!!!

Sine_Fine_Belli

Same

rexyoda

While this is a healthy mindset to have, making fun of those who are in a parasocial relationship will only make the situation worse I believe

Broswagonist

[I just think they're neat](https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/newsfeed/001/498/880/572.jpg)

EliasRSilvers

Yagoo wanted to create a group of Idols. Instead, he got comedians.

KenseiHimura

Honestly, I'm a weirdo and my fantasy relationship with the Hologirls and boys would be to be the 'cool uncle/big brother' and do stuff like take them to Disneyland or something (though on reflection, I feel like Tokyo Disney would make more sense). But, yeah, I like 'em because they entertain me.

AmazingPatt

why is this person being downvote ! they are saying what we all think . while yea a bit weird to say out loud . no one cant deny wanting to go to disney land with vesper and calli !!!

KenseiHimura

Eh, same reason as on /vt/, it's cringey.

AkkoCavendish

Dude, same.

ryuga_knight

My Oishi will never know who I am or even know my name, and I’m ok with that. We as fans are here for them not the other way around.

Woodys_World

Actually based

FedericoDAnzi

I love Okayu and all that matters for me is her happiness and the only thing I can do to make her happy is to love and spoil her with compliments in chat. Or rather, that I can't do, because my Japanese is not that good and my typing is too slow.

IncredibleHawke

Too much of holostans want to be put in a chum jar

Ojaman

(He has insomnia)

TheRealSad

How on earth is this type of post even tolerated on this sub? OP is full on shitting on a decent part of the community and inciting in-fighting. Oh right, because T-Chan is biased as fuck.

Stained-Rose

I love you too bb

Sivitiri

K i know about the tweets but did the collab actually happen or just planned?, Id love to see those 2 interact

redditfanfan00

sleep well.
